To access this cottage you must climb down and up an unpaved churf path with no handrails and which was unlighted after dinner on New Year's Eve. You cannot park the car near the door so trudging up and down with luggage is burdensome—especially if you have a rolling suitcase. The beds in the twin bedroom have no box springs—you'll be sleeping on a thin mattress on a wooden pallet— that's why the photo only shows the headboard. The towels were sopping wet when we arrived and cold since it was winter.The “fireplace” has a very weak blue flame. The good news is there is a thermostat for heat. .That's about it. This is the perfect refuge for backpackers but not for people looking for accommodations. We only stayed one night instead of our two night reservation. And we made a New Year's resolution: always ask yourself what the owner of the property is hiding or not showing.

Why they chose this property

This is a brand new cottage that was built in 2016. It's a special treat to be staying in an elegant, new and private area of this highly traveled town!

What makes this property unique

About 1 mile to the beach/coast/The Lodge at Pebble Beach/Shopping, banking and market of Lodge. Take the horse trail by the house right to this property down to 17 Miles/Forest Lake and turn left to go down to the Lodge area. Should be around 10 mins walk.

Steveson Upper School is about 500-700 yard, a few mins walk down Oleada and turn right on Forest Lake. The school is on your left.

People say that Pebble Beach was designed by a drunk sailor. So please use a GPS when entering Pebble Beach. Coming from Highway 1, you may choose to use the Highway 1 entrance or drive down Ocean Ave. through downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, turn right on San Antonio and coming in through the Carmel gate. Entrance is free when you indicate you are a guest of this address.

Please always turn off the fire place whenever you are out or asleep. Please turn off the heater when you are checked out. Thank you.
