Situated at the end of this unspolit village in beautiful Bishopdale is The Stable. No through traffic, the nearest we get to rush hour is when the local flock of sheep is moved, it can be pretty noisy for a while. We converted a stable 12 years ago into a small but very special 2 bedroom house . Pre- Covid it was our home in the summer, but this year we cannot return . It is therefore equipped to a much higher standard than most holiday cottages with high quality furnishing, including some antiques. We would ask any guest contemplating sharing it with us to accept that some cupboards are private and 'out of bounds' though of course there is plenty of storage space for your needs. The house is set back from the road with ample parking for 3 cars. At the front is a flight of stone steps leading up to a door from bedroom 1. This is a feature typical of many barns and was used to take the hay into the loft so that it could be forked down to the animals as necessary.
The front door leads into the large, fully fitted luxury kitchen. There is a solid beech peninsular unit with stools ,chorion work top with quartz sink, induction hob, Neff oven and combi oven, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, iron. Full range cooking equipment. The back door leads into the garden and terrace.
.The spacious living/dining room has a coal effect fire, underfloor heating and lamps which create a cosy comfortable room with 2 large sofas and oak dining table and chairs. TV, video and DVD player., board games and playing cards for the relaxing part of the day.
A French window leads into the terrace and garden..
Stairs lead up from the sitting room to the 2 bedrooms. The Master bedroom has a king size bed and en-suite bath and shower room. Bedroom 2 has a double bed and an en.suite toilet and basin. Please note when booking that guests need to be aware of the bathroom arrangements.
The beautiful terraced garden has stunning views with a seat to enjoy them at the top.The stream tumbling down the fellside provides an in-built water feature. Table and chairs on the terrace allow you to dine outsde if the weather is kind enough.
From the front door you have access to the superb walking in the area . There is an extensive library of walking books to plan your days, as well as information on some of the many places to visit and the local eateries..
