Cissie by the Sea welcomes you to Big Lake, Louisiana!

A recent guest called our camp a "diamond" and we hope you'll agree! Bring the family to enjoy great fishing and beautiful sunsets at this two bedroom, two bath cottage at Big Lake. This camp has one of the best wharfs in the region, featuring a boat slip, fish cleaning station, two LED fishing lights, and an incredible upper deck where you can enjoy beautiful views and get your tan on. "Cissie by the Sea" sleeps up to eight people and offers great space for entertaining. The screened in porch offers additional seating and dining table. Just 20 minutes from Lake Charles, you'll feel like you've escaped to another world not far from the Creole Nature Trail.

There are two trundle beds in one bedroom (sleeps 4) and twin beds in the 2nd bedroom. The queen sofa bed sleeps two.

Weber charcoal grill, automatic coffee pot (sweetners provided) and lots of kitchen amenities will help you enjoy your relaxing time on the lake. Enjoy our board games, kayaks and a paddle board available, too!

We are proud to welcome you to Cissie by the Sea, which is fully remodeled after Hurricanes Laura and Delta in 2020. We are back and ready to have some fun, so come be a part of our new chapter! The camp gets its name from local legend Cissie McLeod, who also happened to be our mother. We aim to provide a place your whole family can enjoy, just as ours has for decades! Fish on!

My son and I had a great stay at this property. It is very clean and well equipped. The lighted pier is very well constructed, convenient and a perfect fishing platform. Unfortunately, when we were there the fish were not biting, but we had fun regardless.

The perfect Staycation

We are from Lake Charles and chose to do a staycation this year with a new baby! This camp was the perfect place for our little family. We enjoyed hanging out and cooking in the yard near the water while the kids played, night fishing off the dock, fishing in Big Lake, and cooling off inside while still having the perfect view of the lake! We hope to make our staycation a tradition!

Awesome house just as advertized!!! The pier was awesome we caught sting rays,drums,gaftop,croakers,alligator gar.Someone had a fish on almost the whole day. We used shrimp and shad we caught with a cast net. Great trip hope we can go back one day.

Great vacation rental

We had a great time and the rental is exactly as described. The kitchen has everything you need to cook and bake and the dock is lit at night so makes for fun night fishing.

The house and property are well kept and clean. It has a nice pier that extends out into Calcasieu Lake. The pier has electricity, running water, and lights that can be turned on to fish at night. Both the kids and adults enjoyed a relaxing weekend on Calcasieu Lake and near by areas.

Big Lake stay at Cissie

Nice camp right on the water. Beautiful dock and sun/sunset deck, screened porch, well-equipped kitchen and living area. Booked a fishing trip out of Heberts Landing, a short walk away, so convenient.

Our family has been in Lake Charles for five generations. Big Lake is our favorite place in the world! Our camp was hit by hurrianes Laura and Delta in 2020 and our mom, Cissie, passed away two months later. It's taken us 2.5 years to complete the remodel, but it was well worth the wait! Our new house is just amazing. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. The property is owned by three sisters and our families.
