Ocean Cottage 50 Marina Tortuga Cottage

Welcome home! This 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath cottage is the perfect home away from home. This cottage-style townhome is located in Jekyll Island's newest cottage community, The Cottages at Jekyll Island, and is dressed with ocean views. This home has a master bedroom (KING) on the main floor, along with two guest bedrooms on the second floor. The first floor is home to an open kitchen, which flows into the beautiful dining and main living area. The kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances and a spacious bar top. This cottage provides easy access to a garage off of the kitchen. Off of the main living area is a screened-in porch, perfect for every season. The second-floor houses two guest bedrooms (QUEEN) and bathrooms. Each bedroom opens to an oceanfront balcony overlooking the Atlantic. The second floor also has a small sitting area on the landing. In addition, guests have access to The Cottages at Jekyll Island's million-dollar amenities, which include Clubhouse, zero-entry pool and fitness, beach deck, beach access, and community firepit.

BEACH ACCESS AT THE COTTAGES
Overview: The Cottages beach is about 2,000 feet long, featuring a dune area and seawall.
Access Points: There are three dune crossovers to the sandy area, always accessible for recreation. Main access is near the pool and clubhouse.
Tide Information: At high tide, water reaches the seawall, changing every six hours. Check a tide chart to plan your beach time.
Nearby Facilities: Oceanview Beach Park, about 2 miles south past the Holiday Inn, offers all-day ocean access. Explore all Jekyll Island beaches on their website.
Important Note: Storms may affect beach crossover access, and we cannot guarantee beach access at all times.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Island Vacation!

Our entire experience with Villa’s by the sea could not have been better. We loved the location on the north end of the island. Great unit with incredible views. Hope to stay here in the future. The cottages at Jekyll are an amazing place to stay.

Ocean sounds.

The cottage was in a wonderful location with amenities. The property is well appointed however could use some touch up painting in high traffic areas. Our favorite part was waking up and falling asleep to the sounds of the ocean as it hit the rocks during high tide.

Lovely cottage, beautifully decorated, right on the beach. Great oversized balcony on the second floor, screened porch on the main floor. Good beds, well equipped kitchen, just great overall. Two very minor thoughts: bring your own hair dryer. Also, instructions on the tv would be helpful.

A fabulous beach getaway for play and relaxation!!

I love, love, love this place. It is decorated so warm and inviting on the inside. Kitchen was furnished with everything you could think of if you wanted to prepare a meal and the cottage is so close to everything you could eat out every meal. The pool was sparkling clear and designed for play or reading. And after a fun day out, there are places in this cottage where you can just sit (on very comfortable furniture) and relax and see the dolphins playing right outside or climb into a comfy bed and sleep soundly until the next morning. I would definitely stay here again..

The unit is nice and well decorated. However, some important attention is needed in the kitchen.

The kitchen needs pots and pans to be able to prepare a meal. There was only a small boiler and a Dutch oven. The other pans etc were in very bad shape. We covered them with foil to be able to use them at all. Not up to standard for this type if rental.

Jekyll Island Cottages

The house was beautiful and accommodated our family perfectly. I would have liked the VRBO site to tell me that what they were charging was not all of the cost. I was also charged a fee by the Real Estate Manager for their costs. This was not disclosed until the last payment was due. Also, beware that the beach is not useable for many hours per day. When it is time for high tide there is absolutely not beach/sand. Only the water hitting the rock wall.

Great location, Not so good property

We love visiting the Jekyll Island and surrounding areas and make at least one trip a year. Our experience in the past has been pretty good with the rental properties but had quite a few issues this time around with this property. Starting with the water leak from upstairs bathroom onto the ceiling downstairs right above the breakfast area and AC not working in the later part of our stay. Called the management, they responded quickly and sent a plumber withing a few hours. They worked on it but the issue persisted and got more water leak next day as well. We couldn't use that bathroom and we had only 2 bathrooms left for 8 people. For the air conditioner, they didn't fix that at all and we had to live with it for the last 2 days of our stay. Have stayed in many properties over the years and this is my very first poor review. The person I spoke to at the property management office was courteous but bottom line is we had a torrid time during our stay.

Excellent rental home for families. Truly enjoyed the atmosphere of the home and surroundings. Our family of seven adults had plenty of room and beautiful views. Easy check in process and all of the amenities were in place. A++++

Great Stay

We enjoyed the property, the view was amazing. The beach was nice and private which was ideal for the Covid Pandemic. The garage was great for storing our bikes and paddle board. We were with in biking/walking distance of just about everything. Planning our trip next year.

Great Home

We enjoyed the house and the beautiful views. Morning coffee on the top balcony watching the dolphins was the perfect way to start each day. Quiet beach with nice shell finding and so awsome appreciating sea life.

Ocean cottage Stay

We enjoyed our stay at The Cottages. A very nice quiet and private community. Not far from restaurants, market and more. Bikes included was a plus for us! I feel the unit could have been cleaned more thoroughly before our arrival, but appreciate the management accommodating us so quickly. Overall a memorable vacation for our family.
