Tucked into the forest canopy on Bowen Island, the Wildwood Cabins are authentic, hand crafted post and beam cabins built from local and reclaimed timber. Each cabin is clad in natural and charred cedar and has blended into the sword ferns, cedar, hemlock and fir trees that surround it. A Jotul woodstove, flannel sheets, vintage books and board games, cast iron cookware and a Nordic wood-fired barrel sauna are your tools for connecting with the simplicity of life in the woods.

This was absolutely perfect! The cabin was in a beautiful location, quiet and peaceful but still connected to transport links so we could explore the island easily. It was very clean and had everything we needed for a restful break. Reg was a really excellent host - lots of great recommendations, really helpful info, lovely to chat to, very kind. Could not have asked for a better stay!
Highly recommend for folks looking for a getaway close to Vancouver anytime of year. Wonderfully authentic log cabins set in an incomparably lovely and tranquil spot. Hosts are amazing and cabins are fully stocked with some lux touches (e.g. bedding, towels) Coastal and woodsy trails are close by as are a few great restaurants. Outdoor sauna, fire pit and yoga studio are also onsite!
The cosy cabin nestled in the woods was the perfect location to escape for a few days. Host couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. Fresh eggs (and chickens!) were a lovely bonus.
These are some of the most beautiful cabins out there! Clean, cozy, and comfortable. We loved every minute of our stay. Reg is a great host and easy to communicate with.

Absolutely beautiful cottage!!!
Amazing cottage, well equipped with everything you may need! Super comfortable bed! Futon mattress was available for our daughter to sleep on downstairs, and that was just fine. Three of us made it work, but it's ideal for two. Reg is a great host! There is a yoga studio on site, however I did not try it as I have never done yoga in a class before (that's just my shyness ha ha). The island itself is great, lots of beaches to explore and lots of hikes to go on (I recommend Mt.Gardner, a bit of a tough hike, but the view so worth it! There are three different trail heads for this hike, maybe we picked the harder one). Overall, we loved our stay, and hope to be back someday! Thanks Reg!
My partner and I recently had the pleasure of staying at a charming cabin that truly exceeded our expectations. Nestled in a serene, wooded area on one of the most beautiful islands on the West Coast, this getaway was a delightful escape, just a 20-minute ferry ride from mainland Vancouver. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the authentic woodsy charm. The cabin featured a cozy wood fireplace, stunning A-frame windows in the bedroom, and unique wooden furniture that added to its character. We also loved the fresh eggs from the chickens on the property—such a lovely personal touch! Each evening, we enjoyed preparing delicious meals together in a well-equipped kitchen, savoring them in the warm atmosphere of the cabin. After a day of hiking, the woodfire sauna just steps from our door was a perfect way to relax and unwind. Our host was incredibly helpful, sharing local insights that led us to breathtaking trails we might have otherwise missed. The natural beauty of the island is truly something to behold. If you’re searching for a tranquil getaway that combines comfort with stunning surroundings, this cabin is the perfect choice. We left feeling rejuvenated and are already planning our next visit! Highly recommended!
I am a travel agent and was very impressed with our stay at Wildwood Cabins. My husband and I wanted a private getaway from the city. This vacation was just that. Cabin 2 was lovely, and even though the cabins are close in proximity, they were very private. Reg the owner was very friendly and brought us fresh eggs from the chickens in the morning. We will be back again soon!
Very clean, rustic cabin in the woods. Had everything we needed and the lookout at the top had great views. The host was very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend staying here on a trip to Bowen.

Why they chose this property
Wildwood is a 5 acre property covered by lush forest with panoramic westerly views of the Pacific Ocean from the rock bluffs behind the cabins. Each cabin offers a private experience with peaceful views of the forest throughout. A Jotul woodstove, hand split firewood harvested from the property and a Granfors Axe are stocked for your stay. Le Creuset cast iron pots and pans will be a welcome companion in the kitchen. Vintage books, games and artefacts collected from travels across Canada, as well as a three piece bathroom, high quality queen mattress and flannel sheets complete the interior.
The Nordic wood-fired sauna is exclusively available to guests and the Yogaloft yoga studio on the property is also available for drop in classes or can be arranged for private practice. There are also 2 outdoor firepits and BBQ on site.
We supply superb fresh ground Matchstick coffee(no mud water here;), organic olive oil, tea, salt and pepper. If the cluckers are laying, we're proud to pass a few beauties along for your enjoyment. We also will provide you with our "Locals List" of recommendations from 25 years of first hand experience.
Centrally located, the property is within walking (or stumbling) distance to Bowen's two cideries, as well as Alderwood Farm or Meadowbrook Market for food or supply stock up. The golf course is less than a 10 minute drive and several of Bowen's best beaches and trails, as well as the cove, are the same.
Wildwood Cabins has been featured in numerous photoshoots, including Lululemon and Lush. It has also hosted several retreats and weddings. If you have an idea, we are listening.
Whether you are seeking inspiration, escape or looking to nest or explore, there are answers in the quiet, simple moments of life in a cabin in the woods.
