The property is absolutely breathtaking. Johanna was so kind and made sure we had everything we needed. She has done an amazing job making sure her property feels like a home. It is the prefect getaway that really helps to immerse you in the Greek way of life. The views are immaculate; you can see straight to the mountains. It is not far from some great eateries and wonderful villages.
The villa was wonderful, exactly as depicted on the pictures. The host was amazing, communication was easy and on time, her recommendations were useful and great. One of the best vacations I ever had, beautiful place, the richness and life of nature around…..difficult to top.
Fantastic property just outside the village of Kefalas. The rooftop patio was my favourite spot, views of the mountains, morning coffee with the sunrise, beautiful sunsets, and sometimes music from a nearby village. We loved walking into the village for dinner, to go to the market or have an afternoon cappuccino at the cafe. There were many Tavernas and beaches close by and only an hour to Chania to Rethymno. The cottage itself was very nice, clean, and had everything we needed. The laundry was a nice bonus. The host, Johanna, was responsive to our requests and allowed us our privacy. I would highly recommend staying here.
Superbly designed house for the two of us, in a hollow amidst olive trees. The roof top terrace had a 360 view of the tree tops with the mountains in the distance. Being amongst the trees, the house used natural ventilation and remained cool despite the high temperatures outside.Johanna ensured we had everything we needed for our 2week stay including maps and helpful tips re - places to visit and places to eat.
Johanna offered such generosity and care as our host during our time in Kefalas. With great recommendations we were able to explore the local area and venture off for day trips. If you are a birder, bring binoculars as the cottage roof is a great spot for getting to know the birds of Kefalas. Johanna’s gardens are inspiring and I appreciated our conversations about the land and nature around the property. I’m not sure there is an adequate way to express our gratitude. Our time in Crete felt like a dream.
Beautiful stone cottage in a very private setting. Host provided an extravagant welcome basket that was thoughtfully put together and took care of our basic needs for days. Luxurious linens, comfortable bed, good books on the shelf and just a short drive to octopus bay made for a most comfortable stay. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

We're delighted that you enjoyed your stay here. Hopefully see you again one day!
Wonderful, relaxing vacation! The little cottage suited us to a tee, the garden wasn’t formal at all and was very comfortable to sit in. All you heard were the birds, bees and the bell on the sheep at the end of the end of the yard. It was very private from our hosts home. The views from the upstairs patio were amazing! On the last morning we realized we hadn’t gone up after dark, so missed what I would imagine is excellent star gazing. Something for next time! And if you enjoy the company of cats and dogs, you will get your pet fix. Not overwhelming, just enough to make it homey. Thanks Johanna for making this feel like our home away from home!!

Tranquil, beautiful Greek countryside, a gorgeous and elegantly appointed stone cottage, a charming host and access to so much of this glorious island. Perfect Thank you Johanna
Our stay with Johanna has been amazing! She was very kind and welcoming, provided us with lots of information about where to eat/shop/what to visit. When we came, there even were some groceries in the fridge for us. A highlight for sure was the large private garden and the cats and dogs who would come by every now and then to visit.
The stone cottage was cosy, because of the tasteful furnishings, the mixture of wood and stone (walls and floor) and the different colors in every room reflecting the cretan landscape. Great room layout, perfectly equipped kitchen and bathroom. Wonderful terraces ground level and on the roof different places in the olive grove: so many quiet places for reading, relaxing or just listening to the birds. The contact with Johanna was already in the advance very pleasant and helpful. Provision of high-quality food (bread, cheese, olives, wine....) and other necessary things. On the property are some friendly animals: if you like contact, it's possible. If you don't like contact, they don't disturb you. One nice and curious red cat visited us every day :-)The surrounding was impressive because auf the neighbourhood of the mountains and also the sea (Omprogialos - a wonderful swimming area - you reach by car within 10-15 minutes) and nice cretan villages (Kefalas, Kalyves, Vamos...). Kefalas, where you can buy all necessary food and where you find the recommendable taverne ORTAKI, you reach by feet in 10 minutes. By car you can reach many interesting destinations in a reasonable time (Chania, Rethymnon, beaches like Falassarna and Elafonissi). We had a wonderful week at this place and we wish to come back soon.Anja Reinhard
Facilities were as described. Johanna was veryHelpful as a host and gave us plenty of information on the area (sights/tavernas etc.). Welcome pack was very good with plenty of home produce. All rooms were spotless and outside area very inviting. We would gladly recommend the accommodation. Patrick and Noelle Diblin
We had an amazing stay. If we come back to Crete we will be staying here again. We loved the home and the pets were so sweet. They even came by on our last morning to say good bye. Thank you for a great 25th anniversary!!

This was our first holiday away together without family since covid. It was very relaxing and the weather was fantastic. It’s a great location being around halfway between Chania and Rethymno. There is a lovely terrace at the property with a hot tub (which we didn’t have hot as the temperature was well in the 30’s) Altogether a lovely place to stay

A very relaxing place to stay, beautiful surroundings and just a short distance to local tavernas and shops. Johanna was the perfect host providing us with lots of local information and a welcome pack which included fresh produce from her lovely garden. We couldn’t have wished for more. Thank you Johanna
This is a very charming, well appointed and well located cottage that offers relative privacy, with owners close by for any assistance required. Much of Western Crete is easily accessible without feeling too close to tourist traps. As animal lovers we enjoyed regular visits from the owner’s cats and dogs! Ideal for couples looking to set up a great base to explore this glorious island.

Thanks for your review! It is indeed a good location for experiencing authentic Crete
Sitting in an olive grove, with beautiful gardens around, this is a really comfortable villa. Everything you need with a sunny rooftop area. Friendly pets around and Johanna looked after us very well.
Great walks nearby and a beautiful base for exploring the area. Two local restaurants in walking distance, a small supermarket, and Vamos with a brilliant bakery a short drive away.

Thanks for your review. The traditional bakery in Vamos is definitely worth the short journey, plus you can stop for a coffee while you're there!
