This Prince Edward Island vacation rental sits high on the rolling hillside overlooking the winding Trout River. This salt water River comes from New London Bay and the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Walk less than 5 minutes to the water's edge for swimming, fishing or boating. River Retreat is located in a private, paved subdivision called "Granville on the Water". This subdivision is great for walking, biking and with little to no traffic is very safe for children.

River Retreat has 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, dining & kitchen area, two living areas with an amazing view of the river and rolling hillside and a very large rec room on the lower level including half bath and bar. Whether you choose to relax by the propane fireplace or enjoy a favorite movie on the large smart TV, River Retreat's living areas will easily provide all the comforts of a home away from home. The custom designed kitchen with island, will satisfy your every need. The table seats 6 and 4 chair height stools are available at the island for additional seating or chatting with the chef.

River Retreat has both a front and back deck for your enjoyment. Swing and watch the sunrise over the River with your morning coffee on the front deck. Or, watch the sun set while barbecuing on the back deck in the evenings. Both decks are covered and can be enjoyed no matter what the weather may bring. There is plenty of outdoor furniture available as well as a play structure for the children. There is both a wood burning outdoor fire pit and a propane one as well. The yard is over 1 acre in size.

The main level boasts a large master bedroom with king bed, en-suite bath, walk-in closet, 32" smart TV and private garden doors to the back deck. There is another queen bedroom and full bath also on the main level. Upstairs, the children will enjoy the single over double bunk beds with an extra trundle bed and their own 32" smart TV. Also upstairs is another queen bedroom. All bedrooms offer top of the line furnishings & bedding.

River Retreat provides a well-appointed kitchen, Fibre-op services for TV & Wifi, bedding, towels, beach towels and too many other amenities to list.

River Retreat is less than a 10 minute drive to the heart of Cavendish where you will find the world famous Cavendish Beach, groceries, liquor store, Tim Horton's, gas, the famous Anne of Green Gables, golf, amusement parks, the Cavendish Boardwalk, COW's ice cream, restaurants, fresh seafood, local entertainment and many additional attractions. The location is very close to everything for your convenience but just far enough away to enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of the area. This is a sought after area for visitors and buyers alike. River Retreat is the perfect location for family fun and relaxation.

Loved our stay at this property! The house is beautiful and well appointed with beach chairs, an outdoor fire pit, and located in one of the most beautiful locations. Recommend the music, oysters, chocolates, and lavender syrup in Stanley Bridge. We so enjoyed Prince Edward Island as a family, and this home base made our trip!

Lovely property! Beautiful area! We were very comfortable during our two week stay. So spacious. Thoughtful amenities throughout the home, including everything you would need in the kitchen. And that basement - we didn’t expect to play pool, ping pong and shoot basketballs! We loved that Cavendish and Cousins Beach were just short drives away. We will cherish our time spent at such a wonderful PEI property.

Good place to stay in Granville

Nice house in a nice neighborhood in a good location. Furniture and bedding a bit uncomfortable but new. The house was amply stocked with condiments. We would stay there again.

We had a wonderful stay at the River Ranch! It was spotless, spacious, Greg and Kathy had everything organized for us, and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook. It’s more beautiful in person than in the pictures. We loved all the outdoor seating to have meals on the covered porch. The only difference was that the beds in the kids room had been changed since the pictures were taken. There is currently a bunkbed (top single, bottom double) and another double bed in that room. But this didn’t affect us very much.

Spotless beautiful home with everything a family would need!

Loved our most recent stay. House had everything you could ever want in a rental property. House was spotless clean and a great location. Close to everything but outside of the crowds. Only suggestion would be air conditioning upstairs as it was a bit warm. Overall would highly recommend this property!

On the Road Again

River Ranch was our launching pad for a PEI cycling vacation. The property was spotless, extremely well-appointed, and one of the nicer properties we have enjoyed over many years of rental vacations. Excellent location near to Cavendish and Stanley Bridge. If you're a cyclist, rolling hills aplenty on quiet roads. The property manager responded quickly to queries and went a step above to ensure our comfort. I wouldn't hesitate a second to return to this lovely house if we plan on returning to the area.

Beautiful new home close to Cavendish

We had an enjoyable stay. 3 couples used it as home base as we toured around PEI. It was great that we were able to enjoy some PEI seafood dinners at our own home. The house is new with everything you need. (Bring your own spices if you're cooking) The only down side for our group was the double beds in two of the rooms. Nice if they were able to replace with queens at least. There are two bathrooms our group could have used a third. All in all awesome stay!

Nice place in a nice place!

We had a family reunion / vacation (13 people, 6 adults, 7 children) Positives: We wanted a central location to the activities on PEI and this house had the right location. The living space was large and comfortable. The basement recreation and movie space was great for the whole family. The yard was well kept and spacious for playing outside. The smaller kids really enjoyed the swing set. We found the house clean and well equipped. We ate outside alot on the deck table and the picnic table. The road into the housing development needs some potholes filled, but that would be the only negative I could think of, and the renter obviously is not responsible for that. This is a perfect place to vacation on PEI. Oh, and the view from the house is "Amazing."

Family Vacation

We had a lovely week at this property in PEI. We were 6 adults and two children staying at the property. Communication was very easy and timely with Alisha in the months leading up to our trip as well as while we were there. The house had everything you could need and all supplies were provided for the week (ex: dishwashing soap, detergent, toilet paper etc) which was great because we didn't have to worry about going out to and getting our own. We were there during a very hot week in July and the upstairs was very warm, AC only on the main floor and basement. They did provide plenty of fans but a little difficult with young children. Also to keep in the mind, there is no bathroom on the second floor where two of the bedrooms are, the powder room is in the basement. Overall great week and would definitely stay there again!

Exceeds Expectations

Home was exactly as pictured aesthetically but was much larger than anticipated. We were in PEI for a family wedding and was very pleased with the pretty location and quiet neighborhood. The property was well-stocked with linens and kitchen supplies. It was also extremely clean. Alisha was excellent to work with, had excellent communication and went out of her way to make sure everything we needed was in place.

If anyone is looking for a large, clean, comfortable place to stay...this is it. From the moment we booked to checkout our experience was flawless. Alisha(home manager) was the best and answered all of our questions promptly. The house was spotless when we arrived. The neighbourhood is very nice and only 10min to Cavendish. It has a huge yard which was perfect for the kids. It also has a swingset...which we didn't realize until we go there. We packed so many things that we didn't need to because they were already at the house re: washer toss, beach toys, beach chairs, frisbee, extra blankets/pillows, coffee....you name it! We would highly recommend this property. You won't regret it.

Vacation within Atlantic bubble.

We stayed at this house for three nights I July. The house and property were beautiful and well kept. Everything we needed was supplied. All you need are your clothes and food. The property was just a short drive into Cavendish and close to everything you required. I would highly recommend the property. Alisha was very pleasant to deal with and very accommodating. We definitely would return.

River Retreat

We enjoyed our stay here. The main floor was great. A well stocked kitchen a bbq and chairs to sit outside in the evening. The upstairs bedrooms would be great for kids but as adults we could have used some more furniture in them. A chair and table or desk would have been helpful as would luggage racks for our suitcases. Nonetheless it was a wonderful place to stay and we would recommend it to you
