A renovated home done with love and attention to detail. Everything you need to dine in or just head out the door and hit local eats! Location was amazing and we were able to walk to many areas, or short walks to Metro or Trains. Ana was very attentive and quick to reply, and provided important tips to improve our stay!!!

Maintenance work
Noisy area with loud drunk people every night. Also the bathroom in the flat above was being replaced so endured 11 days of drilling, dust, rocks falling from the window above to the terrace area, from 10-7pm every day. I moved to alternative accommodation but wasn't fully compensated for the inconvenience. Very disappointed.

Dear Pinky
I was really disappointed to read your review
About the drunk people, this is a very famous street in the historic area, in high season perhaps you were not lucky with tourists having fun. But our front windows are very good and isolate most of the noise.
Concerning the maintenance work, as we told you on the first day you informed us it had started, you could move out on the same day and we would compensate you entirely for the days not spent. We did not know the neighbor was going to do this reparation.
You decided to stay, you stayed more a less one more week, and you didn’t want to pay for it.
When at last you decided to move, we refunded you for all the days not spent plus a refund of 3 more days.
This was mediated by the lady of the vrbo platform, and you must remember she said it was a quite good offer.
I really don’t recommend you as a guest 😞
Great location! Very cute apartment! Host was easy to communicate with!

About the host
Hosted by Ana Nunes
Hi, I’m Ana! I have a deep love for Lisbon and a passion for painting. Together with my sister, Sónia, we transform accommodations into spaces rich in history and tradition, that tell visitors stories of our country. We love working with recycled antique furniture and Portuguese handicrafts, and we're especially passionate about incorporating artwork and thoughtful details. The result? Spaces that inspire the mind and nourish the soul.
Why they chose this property
Rua da Bica de Duarte Belo (our street!) is one of Lisbon’s most iconic and photographed streets.
Bica is a historic neighbourhood known for its famous yellow funicular, which has travelled up and down the steep hill since 1892. From the apartment windows, guests can watch it pass directly along the street.
Surrounded by Chiado, Bairro Alto and Cais do Sodré, this small and characterful neighbourhood is one of Lisbon’s most popular areas to explore.
The name “Bica” comes from a 17th-century water fountain that once belonged to a local merchant. At the time, public fountains were important meeting places for the community.
As the neighbourhood was relatively unaffected by the 1755 earthquake, it has preserved much of its original 17th- and 18th-century architecture.
What makes this property unique
Set in Lisbon’s historic and vibrant Bica neighbourhood, the apartment offers a rare view of the city’s iconic yellow funicular passing directly outside the windows. Its central location places Chiado, Bairro Alto, Cais do Sodré and many of Lisbon’s best-known attractions within easy walking distance.
Inside, ornate ceilings, golden Baroque-inspired details, vintage furniture and crystal chandeliers create a distinctive atmosphere, while modern amenities ensure a comfortable stay. A cosy private patio provides a peaceful outdoor space in the heart of the city.
Restoring historic homes is our passion. Inspired by Portugal’s history, traditions, art, music and cultural heritage, we personally select the furniture, paintings and decorative details that give each space its own identity.
This combination of history, creativity and personal care is the essence of what we call the “Portuguese Soul.”
