On the shore of beautiful Squam Lake in Kesumpe Cove, this property is perfect for a large group such as a family reunion. There are 6 bedrooms, including a five-bed "bunk" room. This is a six generation rustic family camp built in the 20's with a large addition in the early 60's. There is no insulation and minimal additional heat so stays in early spring and fall can get chilly. For boating, there is a shared dock with two dedicated boat slips. This is a W shaped dock with 3 fingers 6 x 40, the center finger is common use and the Camp Swan guests have use of a very large secure inside slip and the outside dock edge. The depth is suitable for nearly any vessel you would bring to this lake. We have docked a 26 foot vintage Chris Craft with no problems. Bring your own boat, or rent from one of several marinas in town. Stay close and enjoy the call of the loons from the screened porch or venture further down the lake. You can swim off the docks to the nearby raft. Across the main road enjoy a hike on the Sandwich Range or take a short drive to Rattlesnake Mountain for amazing views of the lake from the rock face. Many great restaurants within a short drive. A popular area for biking as well. For children, the Squam Lakes Science Center is only one mile down the road. We prefer backgammon, board games or puzzles while at the lake, but ROKU TV and Wi Fi are available. The town of Holderness is just 1 mile away for shopping. Nearby attractions include Lake Winnipesauke, the White Mountains, with hiking along the Appalachian Trail, and outlet shopping in North Conway. The Squam Lakes are well-known for magnificent mountain scenery and unspoiled beauty. Encompassing 7,700 acres of clear water and 65 miles of shoreline, the Lakes Region is a wonderful environment to experience a summer of unforgettable memories. Fishing, sailing, and canoeing are right off your doorstep.

Beautiful house right on the lake. Lots of room for our family of 10. Owner was very helpful and got right back to us for any questions we had. We have stayed there for 4 years and hope to return again next year
We have stayed at Camp Swan for multiple years and it never disappoints. Wonderful location, hosts, and space. It is a perfect large camp on Squam Lake.
This is a great cabin for a lake get-away. The owners were easy to work with and the house was clean and well-stocked.

Very impressed, we had a perfect family vacation. The lake and the Alvord home helped us make lifetime unforgettable memories. A Clean and comfortable home makes it more than 5 stars for us. Easy docking for the large pontoon that we rented to explore the beautiful lake. Thank you for having us. We would love to come again, Scott and Joy.
Spent another wonderful week on Squam! Camp Swan was set up for us - clean and ready to go. Love having direct access to the lake - to swim, kayak or boat. A short drive away and we can climb Morgan, Percival, or the Rattlesnakes. An ideal location for our active family!! Looking forward to next year!
We love Squam Lake and are so delighted that the Alvords shared their beautiful home with us. They are so friendly and responsive. Their home is just what a Squam lake home should be. Amazing screened in porch, confortable bedrooms, kitchen with everything you need and cozy ambiance. This is our second stay and we're already planning the next!
This was a absolutely stunning spot on Squam lake. The house was spacious and clean and our host provided all the information we needed for our stay. Thank you!
We thoroughly enjoyed our second stay at Camp Swan. Susan and George are wonderful hosts and provide a spacious, well maintained, well outfitted large rustic camp on Squam Lake. We enjoyed boating, relaxing, and spending good time with family and friends.
This is our second time renting Camp Swan and it was just as special this time! We travel with adults, teens, and young children and this house keeps everyone happy! The owners are wonderful to work with and are so friendly and accommodating.
Already booked next year!!
The Alvord Camp was ready and waiting for our week on Squam. The house was clean, tidy and very welcoming - as usual! Always a pleasure to stay here and we look forward to booking again next year!
Great place tucked in the pine trees of Big Squam Lake. Massive dock is great for fishing, docking and entertaining. House has plenty of space for sleeping, entertaining the family and a real woodburning fireplace. We enjoy Camp Swan!
This was everything you could ask for in a lake house on beautiful Squam Lake. Everything was clearly communicated from booking to check-in and all the instructions for our stay. The amenities were just what we needed and we already miss swimming in the Lake. Thank you Susan and George!
Enjoyed yet another glorious week on Squam at the Alvord Swan camp. Lots of hiking and boating, found some calm coves to swim in and new hiking trails for exercise! A Very relaxing and enjoyable time with family and friends. Already looking forward to next year!

We felt so welcomed at the Alvords! The house is spacious, comfortable and clean. The views from the house are stunning. The dining room hosted many evening card games. And of course, Squam Lake is just spectacular. Thank you for having us.

Thank you so much for this great review Pat & Al! We are so happy to have had your family as our family's guests. You & your family were respectful, considerate &adhered to house rules. Card games in the evening are the best! We've been on Squam since 1928 & we are so glad you shared in our slice of heaven!
All our best,
Susan & George
We had an amazing stay at this property. We have been coming to the lake for many years and when our usual rental fell through we were lucky to find this home! Now we want to make it our new tradition to stay here every summer! The location is perfect. The house has a great set up with plenty of sleeping arrangements for both adults and children and room to spread out. The owners were great to work with and we appreciated the handwritten notes when we arrived. You can tell that they cherish this home and being able to share it with others!

All our best,

We love our two weeks at the Alvord’s and they do not disappoint. The house is always clean and ready for us. They always have improvements from the year before. And they are so easy to deal with. Feels like going to a family cottage not one we rent. Can’t wait for next year.
We stayed here for a Sept wedding with 8 family members. The house was great, clean and well furnished in old Squam camp style. The owners were very friendly and always available. Overall a great stay.
Be advised that there is no dishwasher! A problem when there are 8 people. Not disclosed earlier.
Large, comfortable, well-appointed building directly on Squam Lake. Highlights include innumerable chairs, comfortable big beds, superb cabinets and drawers in the kitchen, long very welcoming porch, three docks, excellent boat access. Far from road noise. Welcoming and very informative little yellow notes from the owners everywhere. It was wonderful to be in a well loved home!! I would have welcomed a handrail on the ramp to the dock.
