From the owner: "Thank you so much for your kind words! We are glad you were able to find the cabin quickly after connecting and that you enjoyed your stay after a hike in the beautiful White Mountains. It is always a pleasure to host guests and their pups. We are so happy you found the cabin gorgeous and your experience enjoyable. We hope to welcome you back again soon!"
This 100 year old cabin has cozy, rustic charm. It was a great base for kayaking and hiking. You can’t see the lake from the cabin, but are close enough to hear the loons at night. The cabin is the original guest house part of an extended family compound. There’s a guidebook on the table with instructions and details about the property, but it lacked a map of the compound. We spent some time walking around trying to find where to park and where we could access the lake. Trash was to be left in the woodshed, but with no explanation as to where the woodshed was. These details would have felt more welcoming. Instead, we were left wondering if we were crossing over other people’s property. Squam Lake is absolutely gorgeous and the cabin is well situated for paddling to various islands. The town of Meredith is close enough for dinner out.

Hi Julie,
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review and for sharing these helpful details about your stay. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the cabin’s rustic charm and its proximity to great kayaking and hiking—hearing the loons at night is one of our favorite parts of being there too.
We also appreciate your notes about the guidebook, parking, lake access, and the woodshed location. Those are important details, and we agree that clearer guidance would make the arrival and settling-in process feel more welcoming. We’ll be updating the guidebook to include a map of the compound, clearer parking instructions, and a marked description of the woodshed and lake access points so future guests have everything they need at a glance.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad you enjoyed Squam Lake and hope you’ll return.
Warm regards,
Jamie
Cabin was very clean and well stocked.food supplies a bit of ride to get to. I would advise to pick up bread milk kinda stuff before traveling to cabin from town .loons were active night before came home :-).the porch is to die for . Spectrum internet worked well for those who use that kinda stuff. This cabin is great chill and read book kinda place or just enjoy fire and bottle wine.ty for your hospitaly. Mkb/lpb.
