The house was beautiful and well located. It was very well suited to our family of five. Stroud is such a wonderful area and I wish we could have stayed longer.

Enjoyable Family Weekend

We had a great stay at The New Bakehouse, when we arrived there was a lovely welcome basket with nice treats. The property was as per the images and the bedrooms are all a good size with access to their own bathrooms, perfect when sharing with family. The hosts were very helpful, responsive and friendly. The short walk to the pub was perfect and we had a lovely meal there but as it is small, we would recommend booking. Overall our stay was very enjoyable and I would happily recommend this property.

What a super place to stay!

From the moment we walked in we loved the accommodation. All rooms were very comfortable and everything we needed was to hand. The access road is a little narrow but after a couple of trips out we just took it in our stride. So lovely to have our hosts next door, be able to meet them and compliment them on their property. Would certainly visit again in the future.

Despite tight access for those with large cars and of a nervous disposition (!) the parking was good for 2 cars - though 3 was tight. The house itself was fantastic - especially for me, whose primary reason for booking was to spend time with family and friends for a milestone birthday. Plenty of room, all the crockery, cutlery you could need and a very much appreciated welcome pack of milk, bread, butter, croissants and jam. Given how hot the temperatures had been locally, the property is very efficient at holding the heat and fans were very welcome, although we were surprised that such a technically advanced property did not have air conditioning. Overall a wonderful space to enjoy with friends and family.

Excellent long weekend…

This is a great property, with a luxurious feel, and all the mod cons you could need. The open plan kitchen diner, through to lounge is thoughtfully ‘sectioned’ with mid line units between the kitchen and lounge area to give the open plan feeling without being able to see the inevitable pots and pans in the kitchen! Bedrooms and bathrooms are well appointed too and we found the beds very comfortable. Hosts are great, answering questions promptly pre arrival, and was lovely to meet Kevin while we were there. We’d definitely stay again.

Fantastic house

We booked this wonderful house at very short notice. It has everything you could want for a relaxing stay. The location is beautiful with commons for dog walks in your doorstep and fantastic pubs etc. (go to the Weighbridge Inn for a 2 in 1 pie). We would love to return. Thank you for making us so welcome.

Fabulous house

Great house with all comforts thought of. Lovely walking right on the doorstep (very hilly!) and two pubs within walking distance. Very responsive owners living close by. Highly recommended.

Faultless

3 nights stay with friends for a long awaited catch up. Cannot fault anything. It was spotless and all mod cons provided. Loved the layout that allowed very sociable living so no one missed out whilst cooking etc. We will definitely go back.

While there are many positives to the house, anyone who has RESTRICTED MOBILITY should note that there are 18 steps down to the front door. There was no mention of this in the listing, and one of our group had a hard time getting up and down. No handrail on the first four steps. For drivers: access to the house from the road is down a very narrow lane with a stone wall on one sideThe house was very clean, but the outdoor furniture had not been wiped and there was bird doo along with the dirt. The two sofas in the living room have seen better days, and were quite uncomfortable.Children’s games were provided; only a backgammon set for the adults - not even a pack of cards, or a scrabble. Bring your own!The kitchen was well equipped, and we did appreciate the milk, bread and cake, tea and coffee left for us.

Great stay!

Was a beautiful house and area, perfect for a relaxing girlie weekend away. Only thing we didn't like was there being no doors on the en suites upstairs but apart from that it was perfect.

New Bakehouse recommended.

As 3 couples we had a very enjoyable week in the New Bakehouse. Good position for walks around Stroud and along the Cotswold way from the door. Good pub with food 4 min walk away. Kitchen well equipped, and lovely welcome hamper. Beds very comfortable. We would go back.

A payment was taken after my stay without authorisation, I am not happy about it

Bed covers were hard, felt like they need a good fabric softener on them. Shame you have to send your last morning stripping the beds and emptying the bins to take to the bigger bin, you’d think they would be included in the price. Everything else was good.

Beautiful in the bakehouse

We stayed for a week at the new bakehouse and we had an amazing week!!. The property is spacious, light and has amazing views. The bakehouse has every mod con you could want and was very clean. On arrival there was a welcome pack of food which was a lovely touch. We would definitely stay here again!!!.

Nice and comfortable property; the Cotswold Way on your doorstep; nice pubs nearby!

It was quit a journey to get here all from the Netherlands, but definitely worth it! The house was very comfortable for our group of 5 adults. Clean, spacious, kitchen very well equipped with everything we could think of. Good bedrooms with lovely views, very nice to have three bathrooms. The hallway was perfect to store muddy boots, wet coats and golf equipment! The location is perfect, with lots of things to do, and all nearby. We made lovely walks, visited Chedworth Roman Villa, the Roman Museum in Cirencester, Sudeley Castle and Broadway.

Great quality accommodation

Fantastic place with all mod cons, ground floor bedroom for our elderly relative, good garden for the dogs, with a beautiful outlook at the rear. Be aware that vehicular access to the property is down a short but rather narrow driveway.
