My friend and I decided to have a break in the Cotswolds as he’s never been. We couldn’t be happier with the large 3 bedroom cottage over looking miles of countryside. Clean, spacious and with a traditional cottage vibe. Good location for hopping from town to town. Facilities were excellent with absolutely everything you need. Many thanks Catherine!

Thanks Russell,
We're glad to hear that you enjoyed your weekend in our cottage and the area. You're most welcome to return again. Warm regards, Cathy
Everything we needed for a family of four with two teenagers. The house is well equipped and clean. The views are stunning. There are plenty of places to walk around the area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The views from the property were amazing, as is the local area with its common with cows & horses roaming freely. We liked the patio and the kitchen area, where there was also a dining table and we spent most of our time at the property here.Parking was much easier than I envisaged, the house was adjacent to the small road and there was lots of parking on there. The beds were comfortable enough. I was a little anxious about all the rules, but all was good. The lounge and bedrooms weren't the most modern, but they were fine.

We're happy to know that you enjoyed your stay in Mount Cottage, and welcome you to return again in the future.
Warm regards, Cathy
We really enjoyed our stay at this home, the location as well as the cottage itself were great. Lots of room inside the cottage when the weather is not so great, but also the surroundings have many opportunities for walks and sightseeing.

Beautiful views
Large cottage with ample parking on the road. Beautiful view and sunsets.
A really lovely peaceful cottage with beautiful views. We had a very nice stay here for a couple of days and everything was well laid out. Access to the cottage is a little uneven and hilly so beware if you are not fully able bodied.
We loved the idyllic views from each window of the house, it was the perfect retreat to read a book after lovely walks through the countryside or a day trip to the beautiful towns of Bath and Oxford. Slept well all week and even saw a fox crossing in front of us one night :-)

Thanks for your review, Cathy
Great space in a lovely location with superb view and ample space for 6 people to socialise and dine. Kitchen very well equipped. It feels like you’re staying in somebody’s lived-in home. The decor is rather drab and tired, but it is perfectly functional. Only a short walk to the common which is pleasant.
Well equipped cottage with spectacular views. A great base to explore the area. We enjoyed walks on the commons, pub lunches and exploring pretty villages. The weather was superb and the patio at the cottage is a sun trap and the perfect place to watch the sun go down.
Amazing view. Very spacious. Local towns are super friendly. Farmers market is a must. Bed mattresses are pretty worn out.

Thanks for your review. We also live in the cottage and vacate when we have bookings, and have no problem sleeping. I guess everyone has different preferences with beds.
The property is quite large and ample room for 4 adults. Cirencester is easily reached with Stroud being even nearer. We all loved the location, with the Common so near and having to watch out for cows on the narrow country roads for their afternoon stroll.
Really enjoyed our stay. We spent a few days writing songs and recording a new album for Ivan Campo and sadly didn't get to do much walking in the area. The cottage had everything we needed and is very comfortable. Would highly recommend, even for just the views!

About the host

We've spent 33 years working abroad in various countries and always looked forward to returning to our cosy cottage with it's sunset views. Many of the paintings, drawings and photos decorating the cottage were done by our daughter when at school, reflecting our homes in East Africa and Japan. We're now retired and live part time in New Zealand, southern Europe and England.
Why they chose this property
We like walking and searched extensively to find a cosy stone cottage with unspoilt rural views in the Five Valleys area near Minchinhamton and Rodborough Commons and Stroud.
What makes this property unique
Our cottage is cool in summer and warm in winter, with good sunsets all year round. Enjoy the fascinating views from every room whatever the weather outside. Many local footpaths nearby for exploring the immediate area and easy access to the Cotswold Way.
