This three bedroom plus loft cottage in South Nags Head offers a bright and fresh feeling. There is a screened porch with picnic table off the full-size kitchen, as well as three decks to enjoy the Sunrise over the ocean and Sunset over the sound. Located at the 19 3/4 MP, the cottage is close to Oregon Inlet for beach fishing and Outer Banks Fishing Pier, Jennette's Pier & Nags Head Pier for pier fishing. Shopping, dining and outdoor activities are close by. Only 150 yards to the direct beach access. Come and relax! Enjoy the beach. Maximum 4 adults. NO pets.

A clean cottage that is wonderfully located. It has everything needed for a comfortable stay. It was a cloudy and windy week which can’t be controlled (lol). The owner has very good communication with guests.

The house is well laid out and in a wonderful location. It is south of the worst traffic and crowded beaches but well within short driving distance of all necessary amenities. Information provided by the owners was helpful, and we had no problems during our stay.

Great Location

This cottage has the perfect location in South Nags Head. It’s very quiet and peaceful, yet close to all of the attractions and restaurants/stores. Beach access is right across the street. Beach was not crowded at all even though it was the week before a holiday. The cottage was very clean. The kitchen is well-stocked with cookware, utensils, and dishes. Debbie is a great host!

Perfect location within eye distance of the beach!

This is our second time staying at this fun & clean beach house. The owner is great to work with and we enjoy the easy process of check-in and check-out. If you are looking for a great family beach house without all the hassle of a rental company, this is the perfect place.

Everything with this property was fantastic. We travel to OBX at least once a year. Deborah did a great job with communication and the entire process was much more enjoyable than working with some of the larger OBX rental agencies. Location to the beach was perfect and jsut a very short walk.

My family had a lovely visit to this house. The house is spacious, clean, comfortable and a very short walk to the beach. The beach is beautiful and not crowded at all. The home owner is great to deal with, very responsive and helpful.Lovely restaurants nearby and lots to do for the whole family.

1st family vacation

My family and I took our first family vacation to OBX and it went better than expected. This was the perfect location and size house we were looking for. Very short walk to the beach and the owner was very nice and communicated/updates us on things down in OBX. This is a house we we stay at in the future.

Great location

We really enjoyed our stay! Beautiful beach that isn’t very crowded. The owner is great and quick to respond to any questions. She let us know when there were riptide warnings as well. The house is just a quick 4-5 minute walk across the street to the beach. The neighborhood is quiet but still close to shops and restaurants. Check in process was easy. We would definitely like to stay here again!

What a amazing home. Perfect for the 6 of us. Kids wanted to go to the beach this morning as we were packing up. Last night we were sitting in the living room and realized we had to leave. Perfect location, included amenities, close to tons of activities.

A relaxing vacation

The house had many games, movies, books, beach chairs, and beach toys. The layout made the house feel roomy with the high ceilings. We loved having an outdoor shower, which helped with five people staying there. The house was just a two minute walk to the beach and only about ten minutes away from a major grocery store. On previous visits to the Outer Banks, we have stayed in Kitty Hawk and Kill Devil Hills, but this house was in a neighborhood we had never explored before, and it was more quiet and relaxing. We contacted the owner, Debbie, to ask if we could stay an extra day and she answered our call immediately; there was no availability for an extra day, but that is okay. We had a great vacation there. We definitely would rent this place again.

Cozy, roomy property

There isn't a cleaning service for this house, tenants clean before they leave. We were pleased that the place was very clean when we arrived. You can see the beach from one of the upstairs decks and the other upstairs deck gives you a view of the backyard and sound. I would say the sound-side deck has the best view, and we appreciated the growth of the backyard. The beach-facing deck is concrete and not level so it collects water when it rains. It rained frequently while we were there and there was always water on the deck, so we didn't use it. I had lower back, hip, and leg pain throughout our entire stay because our mattress was too firm. It's best to watch the sunrise from the beach, because there are larger beach houses that impede the view from the deck. The kitchen was well stocked, there are plenty of seasonings, utensils, and pots and pans to cook with. The picnic table being in an enclosed porch was a nice touch. It was well stocked with kids' beach toys, boogie boards (although all the straps were broke), 2 bicycles, plenty of beach chairs, and umbrella. It was really nice being able to walk to the beach whenever we pleased and have warm water to rinse off with when we returned. The living room DVD player and CD player could use to be upgraded. There was no remote for the DVD player which was an inconvenience for us and the CD player didn't work. A handyman showed up unannounced on our second day to look at the fridge; a head's up would have been nice. There's a $300 refundable damage deposit, but they subtract $40 worth of transaction fees from it. We enjoyed our vacation and such a close walk to the beach. We could see dolphins from the beach almost everyday that we were there, and this area of the beach is very clean. The house was roomy for our family of five and the neighborhood was quiet. The recommendations I would give would be a crow's nest deck for a better view of the beach, an upgrade to the concrete deck to allow water to drain off, softer mattresses, and upgrades to various equipment throughout the house. The Outer Banks is a great place to visit, and we do plan to return.

Why they chose this property

Our family has been coming to the Outer Banks since the 1960's so it was the place to go when it was our time to buy a cottage. Our kids have grown up coming here and we've made many great memories. Now one of our kids has a rental cottage a few miles north of our cottage. We love the Outer Banks!

What makes this property unique

We've been coming to the Outer Banks for years and really enjoy the calmness that you feel once you cross the bridge onto the Island! In South Nags Head, where the cottage is located, the beaches are very relaxing and not crowded! The bike path (from approx 2 MP to 23 MP) is an added benefit for biking or just walking!
