About this property
Signoria - Flo Apartments
A stone’s throw from Piazza della Signoria, that you can glimpse just looking out of your bedroom window, in the very heart of the so-called Dantesque district of the town, our apartment is at the first floor without elevator (15 steps) of a mediaval stone-made building in a lively and rich in history little street, Via dei Cerchi.
For those who wish to live the true soul of the ancient Florence, this comfortable apartment is the right choice. It is the ideal location for those who want to immerse themselves in the city history and in its monuments, but also for those who love the comfort of biking or walking around, for families with children who need well-organized spaces, or even for those who explore the city with friends, with the advantage of 2 bedrooms and a wide, cosy and comfortable living area, fulcrum of the house and of conviviality.
This quite and super central apartment has been recently renewed and tastfully decorated with attention to details and comfort, preserving the original details, such as the typical wooden ceilings and a gorgeous pietra Serena frame, and adding the comfort of modern accessories.
The entrance opens onto the wide living, furnished with a large arte povera wooden table for your moment of conviviality, a modern colorful sofa, a bookshelf and TV.
Here the atmosphere is warmed by the lively colors of the walls and by the wooden floor and ceiling, and welcomes you in the beating heart of the house.
From the living room, a little stone step leads you to the full-equipped kitchenette (microwave, washing machine, kettle, oven) where you can prepare your breakfast, lunch or dinner any time you wish.
From the living you also access the 2 wide bedrooms: the first is equipped with 2 single beds, which, when needed, can turn into a double bed, and it’s furnished with a shabby chic style wardrobe and a wooden desk.
The second one, which is accessed through a beautiful pietra serena frame, is equipped with a romantic wrought-iron double bed, wooden desk for those who need to work, bookshelf, a separate cloakroom area and an en-suite bathroom (sink and wc).
A second bathroom with shower completes the apartment.
All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, heating and Wi-Fi.
THE DISTRICT
Its strategic location, places you in one of the oldest districts of the town, in its most authentic medieval heart, nestled between Piazza della Signoria and Palazzo Vecchio, that you can glimpse looking outside the bedrooms windows, Orsanmichele, La Torre della castagna, and la Badia Fiorentina. You are a stone’s throw from Uffizi Gallery and the Casa di Dante, at 5 minutes walk from the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio.
We are in Via dei Cerchi, in the so-called dantesque district of the city ( even though there’re no certain elements, it’s quite sure that Dante lived in this area), an area still characterized by a dense network of narrow streets and a number of tower-houses (Case Torri), typical architectural typologies of the era, with a dual militar and civil function.
One of the most significant samples is the Casa Torre dei Cerchi, on the corner with Via del Corso.
The tower-houses were owned by the rival families of that time: the Cerchi, the Donati and others that declared themselves loyal to the Bianchi or to the Neri, parties that caused the Dante’s finally exile ( he was on the side of Guelfi Bianchi).
The house of Dante , very popular museum, is an ideal reconstruction built in 1906 in the area where in the medioevo the Alighieri house was.
Instead, the Dante’s church Santa Margherita dei Cerchi is authentic and ancient : here Dante Alighieri and Gemma Donati, the “angel-like” Beatrice, got married.
Even though it’s a touristic area, it has kept its original and charming appearance: strolling around through the narrow alleys and the little squares, you can discover artesan’s shops, typical restaurants and smaller museums such as Museo Marino Marini.
The district is in fact characterized by the presence of important monuments and historic evidences but also by typical trattorie and shops of all kinds.
And how not to help yourself to a walk along the river Arno and its bridges?
This area has plenty of restaurants, taverns and clubs, that animate squares and streets with their outdoor, especially during summertime.
Here you can enjoy the best dishes of Tuscan cuisine, an informal lunch or a romantic dinner.
Ideal for couples or families with children, the district offers everything you may need during your stay.
A couple of blocks away you will find: a bank, a pharmacy, bars, pastry shops, ice cream parlors, pizzerias, typical and ethnic restaurants, supermarkets, hairdressers, laundrette, bus stop.
We are within a walking distance from all the most important places of interest in the city:

Tourism has always been my passion and my "motto" is: feel at home, even far away from home.
Moved by a great love for travel and hospitality, I like to know new places and learn about different cultures and people.
But I also love to show you the beauty of Florence & Tuscany, how the locals "feel" this enchantable place, just to make you live unforgettable experiences to tell!
We look forward to welcoming you!
