Superb Hideaway Luxury House

Dovje Eco Lodge is a traditional 3 storey stone house, set in beautiful wilderness and woodland and approached via its own private drive. It has been carefully restored to retain its original Slovenian charm and furnished tastefully. The house boasts all the modern comforts and conveniences expected in an exclusive lodge yet is designed as a self sufficient low energy eco house, using an advanced solar collection system, LED lighting, superior insulation etc.

The property has been designed to take full advantage of its elevated and secluded position overlooking the Magnificent mountains and offers its guest a relaxed retreat from which to enjoy the stunning Slovenian countryside. The property is ideal for entertaining up to 8 people but is also the perfect hideaway for a couple or family. In addition, Dovje Lodge offers the perfect location for those interested in outdoor pursuits. The various fishing rivers only a stones throw from the house offering fly fishing, kayaking etc...Fantastic hiking and biking trails as well as having Lake Bled just 25 minutes away.

The House
The house sleeps 8 people comfortably. A spacious entrance hall greets you, off the hall is the large living room with its original beamed ceiling, comfortable sofa, armchairs, a wood burning fireplace, satellite TV and DVD player, the dining area and fully equipped kitchen. There is also a pantry/utility room with washing machine. There is also a full bathroom on this floor too.

The terrace has been furnished with comfortable seating, armchairs and a built in BBQ area.

The Kitchen and pantry are fully equipped to provide guests with everything necessary for a comfortable stay, including a large fridge/freezer, coffee machine, 4 ring stove and oven, dishwasher and microwave.
All the bedrooms have been individually decorated using beautiful fabrics and gorgeous bed linens. They also boast glorious views of the gardens and surrounding mountains.


On the top floor is the elegant loft bedroom with the best views in the house. There are a further 3 bedrooms (2 double and one with 2 single beds) and a shared family bathroom.

Beyond the surrounding garden, the grounds are there for you to explore with streams and waterfalls to be discovered on the wooded mountain side.
A high chair and travel cot are also available for your use.

Despite its quiet location, the house is just ten minutes drive from the main villages of Dovje and Mojstrana where there is a supermarket and local restaurant,s/bars. More extensive shopping and restaurants can be found in Kranjska Gora, approximately 20 minutes drive away.

All bed linens, bath towels are included and are changed weekly.

It should be pointed out that the last 5km of the road to the house is not a tarmac road, but the road is fine for all cars but not be appropriate for very low sports cars.

Pets - Pets are welcome, but you must complete the booking form stating whether any pets are included in the booking. We only accept a maximum of 2 dogs, it can be 1 large and 1 small, or 2 small. If you are unsure please contact us for clarification. Thank you.

Magical

It’s hard not to fall in love with this place. It takes your breathe away with the view. The place has tons of character and is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Very responsive hosts who are super friendly. It was very hard to leave. Highly recommend.

Family vacation in the Julian Alps

AMAZING!!! Location is unbelievable, with the feeling of being remote from everything (if you are ready for the 15minutes drive up the slightly bumpy road). Gorgeous views from up there. Everything is clean and cosy. Petra was very welcoming and helpfull. We had very active days hiking and visiting julian Alps. Unforgettable week!!

Beautiful place that was warm, comfortable and inviting. Perfectly clean and ready on our arrival. View was fantastic (even with the clouds and a bit of rain)! Since it's an eco house, just a few simple steps when running dishwasher or washer. However, our property caretaker met us when we arrived to provide directions.Unpaved road took a little longer (about 8-10 minutes) than expected (and a little bumpy at times) but easily accessible with a regular 2WD car.Would definitely stay here again!!

Dreamlike vacation

An indescribably beautiful vacation up there in solitude. Pure nature, a breathtaking view, peace and relaxation. Very nice welcome from the hostess. The house lacks nothing, great beds, we slept very well. Internet reception via cell phone and also Wifi rather difficult, but that's the point of loneliness :-) The 3 horses were spoiled daily by our children. Außergewöhnlich

Wer die Ruhe liebt und keine Nachbarn braucht, kommt hier voll auf seine Kosten. Absolut traumhafte Alleinlage. Nur drei Pferde leisten ein wenig Gesellschaft. An dem Haus gibt es nichts zu meckern. Super gemütlich und sehr gut ausgestattet. Den Holzkamin haben wir ausgiebig genutzt. Höchste Punktzahl. Wir kommen gerne wieder. genutzt genutztgenutzt

Traumhafter Urlaub in Alleinlage

Das ausgesprochen schöne und gut ausgestattete Haus hat eine fantastische Alleinlage mit einer unglaublich schönen Aussicht auf den Triglav Nationalpark. Die Idylle ist so traumhaft das es uns manchmal wie im Film vorkam. Wir hatten zwei Wochen lang sonniges Wetter und schon morgens die schöne Terrasse zum frühstücken genutzt, dabei den Pferden beim grasen zugesehen und die unglaubliche Vielfalt an Blumen, Kräuter und Schmetterlingen bewundert. Die Betreuung durch Petra und Ihre Familie ist sehr herzlich! Es gibt im Haus viele Prospekte und auch ein Blick ins Gästebuch lohnt sich hinsichtlich der vielen tollen Ausflugsmöglichkeiten. Besonders gut hat uns gefallen, das Slowenien auf kleinem Raum so viel zu bieten hat, wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen! Ein Hinweis für die Anfahrt: die letzten 5 km hoch zum Haus führen über eine unbefestigte Schotterpiste, die kurz vor Ende unseres Urlaubs neu präpariert wurde und gut zu befahren ist. Es ist allerdings deutlich entspannter wenn man mit einem geländegängigen Fahrzeug unterwegs ist.

Ein perfekter Ort um die Seele und den Körper zur Ruhe kommen zu lassen

Es ist ein sehr schönes Haus, wo man problemlos mit 8 Personen übernachten kann. Die Anfahrt zum Haus ist idyllisch aber anspruchsvoll (20min.). Wir haben uns sehr gut erholt, beide Familien waren super zufrieden mit dem Haus. Den Kindern haben die Pferde sehr gut gefallen die nahe am Haus weiden und sie mit Karotten und Gras verwöhnt. Die Hausverwalter haben uns sehr nett und herzlich empfangen und bei Problemen oder Fragen sofort geholfen! Die Umgebung ist sehr schön mit Blick in die Berge und auf den Triglav. Es lohnt sich der Aufstieg zum Berg Baba, wo man vom Haus aus starten kann, dann der Wasserfall pericnik bei Mojstrana....und wenn man die Strecke weiter bis ganz nach oben fährt , liegt eine sehr schöne hochgelegene Wanderroute. Empfehlenswert ist auch die Vintgar -Klamm... Im Gästebuch stehen aber auch noch Ideen bzw. Anregungen von anderen Gästen die hilfreich sein können. Es lohnt sich!! Wir würden auf jedenfall wiederkommen!

Schönes Domizil in absoluter Abgeschiedenheit

Das Haus und die Grünanlage sind sehr gepflegt! Petra und ihre liebe Familie sind sehr nette und hilfsbereite Menschen und gaben uns Tipps und Empfehlungen für die Umgebung. Die lange Anfahrt zum Haus über die holprige Schotterstraße sind (wie im Objekt beschrieben) nicht für alle Fahrzeuge geeignet. Es empfliehlt sich das Haus (auch gerade wegen der Zufahrtstraße) gut zu nutzen. Tipp: Für 2-3 Tage Lebensmittel etc. einkaufen. Die Bergblumenwiese, das Zirpen der Grillen und das Vogelkonzert ab 4.30 Uhr, sowie die täglichen Besuche der Rehe waren für uns Naturliebhaber ein Traum! Abzüge beim Erholungswert gibt es von uns für den fehlenden Sonnenschirm (der wohl beanstandet, aber noch nicht geliefert war) und die Zufahrt zum Haus. Herzlichen Dank nochmals an Petra & Familie

Das Haus liegt sehr ruhig in den Bergen der Ausblick ist fantastisch. Das Haus ist sehr sauber und gepflegt wir haben uns gleich wohl gefühlt. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet, auch die restlichen Zimmer sind alle gemütlich. Der einzige Nachteil ist die Anfahrt, der Weg durch den Wald ist nicht immer gut

Great place!

Getting to the property up the unmade road in cars full of luggage was a challenge but once we were there it was fabulous. The property is very comfortable . The isolated location and the view across the valley to Triglav are wonderful, exactly as shown on the website. The area provides excellent walking. The local people were very friendly.

Summerholiday

Super leuk huis met een ongelooflijk mooi uitzicht op de bergen. Genoten van samen ontbijten en lekker BBQ op het zonnig terras met paarden op de achtergrond. De weg er naartoe kan weleens een uitdaging zijn, maar dit heeft ons niet verhindert om de mooie plekjes van Slovenie te gaan bezoeken.

10 von 10 - Besser geht es nicht!

Die größte Herausforderung für Mensch und Maschine ist der lange und steile Weg hoch zur Hütte: Rollsplit, Geröll, Senken, Auswaschungen, teils enge Kurven und manchmal Gegenverkehr erfordern Präzision beim Fahren. Tiefgelegte Autos haben wenig Chancen, die Strecke zu meistern. Ein SUV mit hoher Wattiefe wäre eine gute Wahl, wobei unser Mittelklassekombi uns auch sicher hoch und runter gebracht hat. Oben angekommen, wird man für die Anstrengung mehr als belohnt: Sensationelles Haus mit Top-Ausstattung, Sauberkeit, Gemütlichkeit, fantastischer Blick auf ein atemberaubendes Bergpanorama, Pferde direkt vor der Tür, Außengrill, Feuerschale, unzählige Sitzgelegenheiten nebst Hängematte, Idylle und absolute Stille in toller Luft hoch (1.200 m) über dem Örtchen Dovje. Vermieterin Petra und ihre Familie waren stets aufmerksam und boten jederzeit Hilfe bei Fragen an. Ein Tipp fürs Kochen auf dem Gasherd: Immer für ausreichende Belüftung sorgen, da der CO-Sensor erfreulicherweise sehr feinfühlig ist! Wir waren leider nur zwei Wochen dort; es hätten auch gern 2 Monate sein können. Tipps: Einkaufen kann man sehr gut in Jesenice (Aldi bzw. Hofer, dm, Mercator und bald auch Lidl oder auch direkt in Dovje (dort allerdings nur Mercator). Das richtige Bier: Laško Zlatorog ist die beliebteste Marke der Einheimischen. Union folgt auf Platz 2. Berge: müssen in der Regel erwandert werden, da im Gegensatz zu Österreich oder Südtirol die Seilbahnen nur während des Winters in Betrieb sind. Wer sich an diesem Ort nicht erholen kann, dem ist nicht mehr zu helfen.

Ein Traum

Das Objekt befindet sich in einer aussergewöhnlichen Lage, ca. 600 Höhenmeter über Dovje. Die Ausstattung ist als sehr gut zu bezeichnen.Wenn etwas fehlte wurde es am nächsten Tag von den zuständigen Betreuern gebracht. Das Betreuerehepaar war ausserordentlich freundlich und zuvorkommend.Sie kamen alle 2 Tage um nach der Technik zu sehen. Man kann sagen dass sich dadurch ein freundschaftliches Verhältnis gebildet hat. Da es sich bei diesem Objekt um Oekohaus handelte, musste man sich etwas in seinen Gepflogenheiten des Energieverbrauchs umstell,was aber kein Problem darstellte. Wir, das waren 7 Erwachsene Personen,hatten zu meinem Zeitpunkt mit Einschränkungen zu leben. Wer die Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit sucht,der findet hier die Möglichkeit dieses zu geniesen. Als einziges Manko ist anzumerken, dass sich die unbefestigte ca.6 km lange Zufahrtsstrasse, in einem erbärmlichen Zustand befindet. Dies war mit Sicherheit auch den vorausgegangenen Regenfällen geschuldet. Ohne SUV hätte ich nicht gebucht Danke nochmals an Andreja für die schnelle Beantwortung all meiner Mails. Besonders Dank aber an die Betreuerin vor Ort Petra, sowie ihren Ehemann. Herzliche Grüße von Edmund und den anderen Sechs

Prachtig gelegen, geweldig uitzicht, prima woning van alle gemakken voorzien.

De weg ernaar toe, een 5 km onverharde steile weg, is een ervaring op zich; een auto is een must! Eenmaal daar, ervaar je de rust en de stilte, midden op de berg met prachtig uitzicht op het hoogste massief van Slovenië. Paarden in de wei ernaast begroeten je enthousiast. In de woning is alles aanwezig, alleen is de WiFi traag en het bereik niet geweldig, wat niet zo vreemd is op zo'n afgelegen plek. De stroomvoorziening is afhankelijk van zonne-energie en eventueel een aggregaat bij te weinig zon. 1 keer is de stroom uitgevallen, maar de beheerders van het pand zijn uiterst vriendelijk en behulpzaam en kwamen direct te hulp. De wandelingen in de omgeving van het huis zijn prachtig, bijvoorbeeld naar de graat waar de grens met Oostenrijk ligt. Maar ook in de omgeving is meer dan genoeg te doen en te beleven. Een aanrader voor rustzoekers, wandelaars en natuurliefhebbers!

Absolut empfehlenswert!

Das Objekt ist sehr gepflegt und sehr gut ausgestattet. Die Stromversorgung via Solar ist absolut problemlos. Der Blick und die Lage ist atemberaubend! Angst im Dunkeln darf man nicht haben, da es hier nun wirklich weit und breit keine Nachbarn gibt :-) .Wir können uns kaum vorstellen, dass es ein vergleichbar schönes Objekt in der Gegend noch einmal gibt. Die Anfahrt - speziell auf dem letzten Kilometer - ist allerdings mit normalen Fahrzeugen (Audi A4, VW Passat) grenzwertig. Ich würde beim nächsten Mal nur noch per SUV anreisen.

The perfect holiday location

I can really recomand this house, its even better than it looks on the photos, with everything you need, great decor, very comfortable beds, absolute peace and quiet. And the view to the montains is amazing. The right place for those who likes nature, hiking and climbing. We spent five days there, two couples, and we really enjoyed, even the weather was perfect. Thanks also to Petra and his husband, they did a great job to make us feel welcome. We certainly will book again.

STUNNING!

Everything about Dovje Eco Lodge met our expectations. It is quite remote, which we enjoyed, and the views from the house are wonderful. The house itself is very comfortable, yet stylish and modern, and we found it to be quite spacious for four of us. The grounds are lovely with plenty of different seating/relaxing areas. We have rented many holiday properties over the past few years, in many different countries, and Dove Eco Lodge is one of the best.
