Had a great stay at the hut, everything you could possibly need, very clean, cosy, fabulous views and piece & quiet. Host came to say hello, lovely & friendly .. will definitely be back
Would definitely recommend.
Just returned from couple of nights in Matthew's Shepherd Hut.
Stunning location, breathtaking views, immaculate accomodation, first class host.
What's not to love.
Cant wait to return
We had an amazing stay! Everything was perfect.. beautiful area and the Shepard's hut had everything we needed, sadly there was another shepherds hut next to us and we was under the impression we would be totally alone BUT overall gorgeous place to stay!
We really enjoyed this property. For a cozy space it’s very well equipped and is so well designed it felt spacious. It was so peaceful we loved waking up next to the sheep and enjoying morning coffee outside with views of the lake. Our host was very helpful with showing us a short cut through his property to start a walk. Check in and out very easy. Would stay again.
Fabulous little getaway. A beautiful, well thought out location where you can truly unwind and explore the outstanding local area.
Refreshing to get 'what it say on the tin' so to speak.
Thank you!
Stayed here for 2 nights while in the Lakes, absolutely stunning views and location while just a short drive to Keswick. The cabin is clean and well presented and Matt, the host is welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended watching the unset from here on an evening and then watching the Lambs bounce around the field in the morning. We will most likely be back.
What a perfect break away. Spotlessly clean shepherds hut. Facilities as described. Dog friendly owners. Miles of walks and a short drive to the town. 1000% will return. Perfect get away.
So happy with the hut where we stayed for 2 nights! The location is just magical! Super romantic place and it offers everything you need! Matt was super accommodating, provided everything we asked for (we needed some kindle for fire) and kept the communication going at all times. The hut is small but so practical and cute and clean and modern! Perfect for a couple! You are surrounded by sheep which I loved and you have the perfect sunrise and sunset views! Close to Derwent water and CatBells walk!
Thanks so much, Matt! And I would love to return!
The hut is as described on the website - no nasty surprises. Views are stunning even in the rain. Plenty of space to bbq / camp fire outside. It is quite remote spot which is what we were looking for and if there had been no cloud I’m sure the star show would’ve been spectacular.
We were looking for a quiet and relaxing couple of days and the Shepherds hut gave us just that. It was small and very cozy. It was warm on arrival which was very welcoming. If i were to give some feedback i would say that a couple of side lamps would be helpful. Overall an excellent stay.
Perfect location. Enjoyed my walks to the friendly village pub the sun inn where I was made to feel very welcome as a single traveller.
Coffee and Tea facilities but no milk.
Tidy clean and Matthew even lent me a uk charger. I left mine in Australia.
All very good ,
Huts were exceptional and host was very friendly and welcoming.
It was a great base for peace quiet and relaxation exploring the area.
Would thoroughly recommend
We really enjoyed our stay at the Shepherds hut. A fantastic location, so peaceful and beautiful. Watching the sun set over the water each evening was fantastic. The shepherds hut was really clean and had everything we needed and the bed was very comfy. We would love to come back again!
We'd just had a couple of days in Manchester and I wanted the exact opposite experience and this delivered. Totally peaceful and isolated. The only noise was sheep, birdsong and a river or stream in the distance. The hut was clean with a fridge, wifi, microwave and hob but most importantly a teapot! Highly recommended.
