In the municipality of Casale Marittimo (PI), in an enchanting panoramic setting, stands an ancient 18th-century farmhouse called Casalevecchio, in the immediate vicinity of which lie the remains of an Etruscan settlement dating to the 8th century B.C. <br>The rural property is surrounded by 140.000 square metres of farmland, accessible via a country road approximately 1 km long. The spacious private car park is just a few dozen metres from the house. The sea is clearly visible from anywhere on the property and can be reached in 15 minutes by car. <br>The nearest beach is Marina di Bibbona. Its distance from roads, highways, railways, and populated areas makes Casalevecchio an absolutely peaceful and quiet location, cool in summer thanks to its hillside setting at 200 metres above sea level. <br>An above-ground circular pool (7 metres in diameter and 1.30 metres deep) is available 80 metres from the farmhouse and is open from early June through early September.<br>The surrounding plains and gentle hills offer pleasant bike rides for the whole family. Sunset walks along the endless beaches of the coast, through the pine forests behind the dunes, and in the hillside woods—where wild boars, roe deer, fallow deer, foxes, badgers, and other wildlife thrive amid typical Mediterranean vegetation—are unforgettable. <br>Archaeological remains scattered throughout the region bear witness to ancient civilisations that flourished in this part of Tuscany, from prehistoric peoples to the early Italic tribes, and on to the Etruscans and Romans. Everywhere you go, you’ll come across medieval villages perched on the hills and framed by olive groves, pine trees, cypresses, and holm oaks.<br>The Etruscan settlement of ancient Casale, destroyed at the beginning of the first century B.C. during the war between the Roman consuls Marius and Sulla, lies with its romantic ruins atop the hill of Casalevecchio and is easily reached on foot.<br>The view from this spot is breathtaking: the colours of the setting sun illuminate the islands of the Tuscan archipelago, and Corsica itself stands out on the horizon, offering unforgettable moments.
