Great place, all the shops, pubs and restaurants for a lovely week. Very friendly people. We had a lovely week and found plenty to do in the area.

very cute house walking distance from a charming Irish town and on the edge of the National Park and a large lake. Very good communication and very enjoyable overall.

Excellent accommodation

The accommodation was perfect for our needs, clean tidy with all the things we needed for self catering. The host was really friendly and helpful. The location was great with friendly pubs and cafes with great quality food.

Really comfortable and convenient location. En-suite bathrooms for each bedroom a plus. Easy walk to shopping and several pubs. Easy off street parking. Kitchen well equipped although not large enough to fit more than three or so people at once.

Family Holiday

Fantastic stay in Fough East. 2 min walk to the downtown. Lots of great pubs and cute shops. Home was spotless, well appointed and host was very welcoming. Thanks so much for helping to make our family holiday so wonderful.

Fantastic Holiday House

Perfect for our stay. Each bedroom with an en-suite is a real bonus. House is spotlessly clean. Christa is on hand should we need anything. Love the proximity to town. Our second stay and we’ll be back next year. All good.

perfect holiday

Beautiful, very clean and cosy house in a very nice village. Enough space for 7 ladies. We loved that every room has its own bathroom. Ideal place for exploring Connemara! Pubs, restaurants and everything you need in walking distance. Very nice host. Thanks for the scones!

Perfect

House is in the perfect location, plenty of household things you need for cooking etc. Lovely owners with a gorgeous grandson who our boys enjoyed playing with. So much for the kids to do.

Beautiful cottage. Everything was wonderful. Very clean. Central location to access the area. Short driving distance to Galway and Connemara. It was the walking distance to Oughterard was fabulous. Cute stores, restaurants and groceries if needed. Christa welcomed us in and she was a wonderful host. The scones were the extra bonus.

Great last leg of a trip

Rental company messed up original booking, however, the host was extraordinary. She took it in stride and made sure we were taking care of. Extremely nice lady who guaranteed we had everything we needed. House was amazing. 100% recommended.

Fough East- Wonderful Experience

The property is lovely and close to village center. It’s a short distance to two bus stops, grocery, shops, and dinning. You can walk to Lough Corrib and there is a quaint river walk for some outdoor time. Due to the traffic, you would need to take the bus or car to the golf course or castle. The host was very accommodating and even had fresh baked scones and cinnamon cake for our arrival!

Family trip

We had a wonderful time. Christa was great and so kind and helpful. The house was perfect for our group of 6. It was clean, cozy, and the bedrooms and bathrooms perfect. There was plenty of room and easily could fit a couple more. The location was perfect and there was a great space to park the rental van. Over all this is a fabulous house for groups. We loved the house and the area. Thank you Christa for the warm welcome and delicious cake.

Cousin’s Trip of 10 in the perfect comfy home

We were met with a lovely welcome! Including the most delicious scones and cake. We still dream about those scones. We had 10 adults, plenty of room, fully equipped kitchen and a quick walk to many pub, butcher shop and stores. The town folks were friendly and welcoming. Powers and Fahertys were our favorites for food and craic. We did a lot of day trips and we were always happy to get home to Fough East. We will definitely be back. Plenty of room to relax, each room allowed for privacy, plenty of room to park our cars, and short walk to Powers restaurant for great food!

Fough East was the first lodging for our family trip in Ireland and it was perfect! Christa warmly welcomed us upon our arrival. The home and the surrounding neighborhood were idyllic. It was the perfect home base for our excursions to Galway, Clifden, Kylemore Abbey and the entire beautiful Connemara region. The home itself was lovely and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed all that the village had to offer. Highly recommended!

Delighted with the property. For our family of 9 we appreciated the bedrooms all being en suite. The location of Fough East is perfect being within 5 minutes of all the delightful pubs and shops of the village. Christa was the perfect host and made us feel very welcomed. The children enjoyed the grassy play area and safe space - as did the adults!
