A luxury stay is awaiting you at the Bear's Den on Mirror Lake Drive which is situate in the village of Lake Placid. You have a tranquil, wooded setting next to a small pond. This is a 5-star cabin and great for a single, a couple, or a couple with a small child wanting to be a part of Lake Placid, with a short 15 minute walk on the Mirror Lake brick sidewalk to the center of the village but it is also private enough to unwind. You have your own private drive to access your accommodations.

With this location you can enjoy the many attractions and activities this Olympic Village & the surrounding Adirondacks has to offer such as Whiteface Mountain, Mirror Lake (directly across Mirror Lake drive), Lake Placid Winter Olympic Museum, Mid's Park, Olympic ski jumping, bobsled, tobogganing, luge, hiking trails, zip-lining, skiing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling and many excellent restaurants . Paddle boards and kayaks are also available for your use to utilize the inviting waters of Mirror Lake. You even have a front row seat to the swim, bike and run of our famous Iron Man races. You can also have a private bonfire to toast marsh mellows just outside your door. Flat-screen TV with cable channels is provided as well as WiFi. In-cabin dining is easy with amenities like refrigerator, stove and upscale silverware and place settings. Concierge cabin dinners can be arrange as an added cost. Premium bedding invite a comfortable night's sleep, and you'll find nice touches like free toiletries.

Cozy Private Get Away Perfect for Couples

My husband and I absolutely loved our time away at the Bear's Den for our 20th anniversary. Jim and Pam were so friendly and welcoming. They have created a cozy, comfortable cottage perfect for a couple wishing to take a break, enjoy the Adirondacks, and participate in the local scene. There was so much detail put into creating a cottage and amenities that addressed every little need we might have had during our stay. We loved walking around Mirror Lake to enjoy a fantastic dinner in Lake Placid's main thoroughfare then finishing off the night with a walk back to the cottage. We cannot recommend this property enough. If you're looking for a delightfully charming cottage to get away with your special someone, this is the place to rent! Thank you, Jim and Pam, for your hospitality and kindness!

Adventure

Hospitality was beyond expectations from cleanliness to great conversations with Jim and Pam. They were very accommodating, and even got us outdoor seating with water view at a very great restaurant- The Black Bear. The Bears Den park-like setting is absolutely stunning with plethora of beautiful landscaping. I enjoyed coffee with relaxing on the hammock listening to the nature surrounding. I highly recommend and I can't wait to go back!

Pam and Jim have a background on the ownership of commercial and residential real estate for the last 25+ years. They have been in Lake Placid since the late 90's and have owned the property on Mirror Lake drive that The Bear's Den sits on since 2003.

Why they chose this property

The Bear's Cottage provides luxuries and first class accommodations that most top flight hotels used to supply pre-COVID. The Cottage is in a secluded, solitary living environment in a park-like setting and a short walk along Mirror Lake drive to the Village center of Lake Placid.

What makes this property unique

On occasional Saturday nights throughout the summer from June into September we host singer/songwriters from around the country to play in our backyard amphitheater like-setting to sing and tell their stories behind the songs that they have written. Many of these songwriters are from Nashville and have written #1 or top of the chart hits and/or have opened for top artists while they are touring. This is an opportunity to be in an intimate setting up close and personal with these artists.
