We absolutely loved our stay. The host was wonderful, helpful, interested and interesting. We were a family group for a wedding and we had family with baby in the barn and grown ups in the house. The house is very very nicely furnished, well equipped and the garden is beautiful. We didn’t swim but enjoyed paddling in the pool.Kitchen was very well equipped. We were grateful for the fans around the house as it was crazy hot.We hope to visit again and couldn’t recommend highly enough.
Lovely property with an absolutely gorgeous garden. Stayed as a group of 8 friends and really enjoyed the pool and garden. Lots of great walks nearby. Very well furnished property with everything you need and clear and easy communication with the host. Would recommend!
Had a lovely 5 days at this beautiful house, which is perfectly situated to explore West Sussex. We loved the character of the buildings as well as the pool and it was great fun looking after the chickens. Lots of space outside and very well equipped in the kitchen.
Jonathan is the perfect host. The property has old world charm with modern cons that blend well. Jonathan has preserved the 16th century character which made this property special for us. Our family of 3 generations from Australia absolutely loved it. We would 100% recommend it and hope to visit again. Thanks Jonathan for your hospitality & allowing us to experience your beautiful property.
A wonderfully characterful property in a superb setting . It was the perfect place for our family Christmas - out of a film set. Jonathan was a brilliant and caring host who was available for anything we needed from the booking process until our departure...he was especially helpful with the supply of new high chairs , cots and even a baby gate ..top quality care and attention.
Petworth specifically and the South Downs generally make for a beautiful location for venturing out from this lovely property .
The 16c house is quaint with sloping walls and floors, original beams and inglenook fireplaces. Sympathetically renovated with lovely quality finishing.
The garden pretty, with lots of spring bulbs emerging and colourful chickens in a stable supplying fresh, warm eggs. Jonathan was the perfect host - attentive, thoughtful and generous. I used the pool, as yet unheated, for invigorating cold water dips, thawing out in a lovely, hot roll-top bath after with a view of the trees.
Plentiful dog towels, a drawer full of dog treats and special shampoo should the need arise, very reassuring knowing Jonathan understands the needs of a holidaying dog owner so well!
Great place to walk too, loads of footpaths, literally outside the gate, and the lovely Petworth for coffee and culture too.
Amazing house, comfortable and with everything we needed. It does have steep quirky steps to get upstairs but this was part of its charm! Barn was also excellent. Jonathan was very helpful and accommodating for our needs. The gardens were also wonderful.
