Large 6-Bedroom Heated Pool - Private Chef

This home is the perfect getaway with a heated underground pool and lots of space to play and rest. The grand home is excellent for large groups and multiple families. The yard is expansive for endless games and activities.

The home offers two fireplaces [one wood burning, one electric] to cozy up at on cool summer nights or snowy winter days.

This home is where people find rest, host getaways, and enjoy a fun environment with their friends and family.

The Space:
People continue to stay at this home because of the tremendous amount of space that allows for gathering and getting away from the city.

When you book our home, you will have everything you need to enjoy a perfect time away.

The home has parking for up to 6 cars and does not allow for street parking.

We also have a private chef who can offer in-home premium experiences — either indoors or outdoors. These services are a separate fee and can include tablescapes, cocktails, wine pairings, old fashioneds & cigars, as well as a variety of other experiential combinations.

Guest Access:
Guests can use the entire house which includes six bedrooms, two living rooms, four bathrooms, fully-heated pool available roughly from late May through September and over an acre of a private lot.

The Neighborhood:
North Oaks is the most affluent city in Minnesota. We recommend exploring Shoreview, it has tons of walking and biking trails with lakes and streams to enjoy.

(please know that North Oaks requires that we submit the names of all adults staying at the home during the stay, so please do know that we will request this after your booking.)

Getting Around:
There is a bus stop less than a 5-minute walk to take you to downtown Minneapolis or St. Paul.

The home is very family-friendly and includes cribs, pack-and-plays, toys, baby gates if you'd like, etc. It also as an extra fence around the pool for safty.

Great family gathering spot

This is the second year we have rented the house for a family gathering. We love the spacious living room and open kitchen. Nicely decorated and very comfortable.

Family Tribe Celebration

In Twin Cities to celebrate our Son's Wedding, and this home was the perfect center for our large family. It gets two-thumbs up from our large number of grandchildren, ranging 6 to 23 years old. Hosts were excellent to work with.

We love this house and have stayed at it multiple times. The living room accommodates many people and the open kitchen/dining room is great for a crowd. The house is nicely decorated and the kitchen is well stocked.

Family Christmas

Our family did have a great time together…because we were together! The house did have a nice large family room for all of us to gather in. The Christmas decorations were severely lacking. We have rented homes in the Twin Cities for Christmas for several years now, and this was the most disappointing. I have also rented all over the world for many years and this was the first time I felt I was literally in someone’s personal home. All of their personal items were stuffed in drawers and closets throughout the home. The dishes in the kitchen were dirty and had to be washed prior to use. It was not a good experience especially for the very high price!! It should have been priced below 500 a night, not 1,500! Megan was very nice and very responsive, but I would not rent this home again and I would not recommend it unless they depersonalize it, clean it, and lower the price.

Great living areas with places to sit

Megan was wonderful to deal with, responsive & accommodating. We stayed 3 days when my father passed and we had a group of 11 staying plus many more visitors.We booked the week before so options for such a large group were extremely limited. My 91 yr old grandmother was with us so it was important to be somewhere she didn’t have to leave. Overall, the highlight was really Megan’s recommendation to have chef Cameron come over to cook for a party of 19 people and how personal it was.We had some hvac issues, however, temperatures outside were okay and so we were able to just turn it off instead of needing immediate repair. Pros: 2 large open roomsRoom for kids to run Lots of dish-ware & seatingChef Cameron (amazing!) Host was responsive and flexible and allowed early check in and late checkout to accommodate for flightsCons: Price is too high for SOMEONES PERSONAL HOMEHVAC issues No access to garage (but no snow thankfully) Stairs are steep railing loose Shower heads are not detachable (nice for elderly & kids) Mattresses were uncomfortable/firm, Carpets upstairs really need to be cleaned or replaced to remove everyday odors, Pictures need to be updated (I.e cribs that are not there, twin side by side beds that are actually bunk beds), Items in yard that should not be there or need to be fixed (I.e. hot tub on its side & not in working condition, trophy head to dispose of, trampoline with broken netting). If you are between the ages of 21-25, do NOT book this property. Let me start off by saying that the host and I had gotten off on the wrong foot, and would not let me book the house for this past weekend on Halloween because of our age. I understand we're at the "partying age" but I let the host know it was NOT a party, rather we all only had this weekend off in the next couple of months. My friends had flown in and driven 6+ hours to get to the property, and when we went in we realized beds that were listed did not exist. We ended up contacting the host who pointed to air mattresses that were in a room. Irritating but we can deal. We paid more money than most of us make in 3 months for the weekend because we thought everyone would have a place to sleep. The property itself was lovely when looking at it from a cosmetic perspective, but every closet was FILLED with clothes, there were other people's things EVERYWHERE, furniture was worn down, and there were not enough beds to sleep 16 people as the property listing states. I can't even begin with the filth that was in the basement. Bugs were everywhere, and it was an unfinished basement. The washer/dryer unit that was listed was in the basement, had clothes that were left in the wash so the basement REEKED. Before we left the property, we cleaned it thoroughly. We left trash in trash bins outside and told the host the main thing was dishes that we had left IN the dishwasher that was running. After the stay, the host attempted to charge me an extra hundred for "cleaning" though in the VRBO payment we were charged a pretty penny for it already. When I asked the host for evidence, like pictures from cleaners, I was GHOSTED. I contacted VRBO to make sure I was okay to not do so, and luckily because my job requires me to travel I'm very familiar with AirBnb's and VRBO's so I did not fall for the oldest trick in the book. I get that we are young, but we are humans and we treated you and your property with respect. The least we expected was respect back. Ideally, I would love to see ANY of our money back, but I highly doubt I will, so hopefully you won't book.

Mags, you & your group trashed our house. You broke, the couch, left insane amounts of garbage, slept in when you were supposed to be checked out, stained our rugs, did not clean up after yourselves and made our cleaners work extra hours to clean up after your group. We absolutely have a strong vetting process and renting to a group of partiers is not what we are about. We discouraged you from booking because we don’t allow parties, you said that you guys were not a party group, but you left it completely trashed.

This was our third year spending our family Christmas holiday at this house and we love it. The large great room makes it easy to socialize and have game tables. Their are 2 large dining tables that make it easy to feed a crowd and the house always looks festive and decorated.

Wonderful property

This property was absolutely as advertised, house was clean, neat, spacious, the backyard and deck were a definite plus. Property manager was very responsive and helpful which made which made checking in and out very smooth. The house is located near all the amenities that you might need for a large group of people gathered for a long weekend. Really great experience for everyone, would definitely rent again.

Wildly Overpriced

The amount that you pay for something matters. I paid a lot per night for this property, and thus I expected a high quality experience. (Vrbo won't let me put the specific amount in this review, which is to the detriment of potential renters who want to understand the context.) The property is extremely worn out, disorganized, and dirty. Maybe some people would find the pros and cons to balance if they were paying far less. I however will never stay here again. Pros: the back yard is large, private, and and has nice trees. The pool is okay. Cons: every piece of furniture, appliance, etc., is very old and worn. Everything is disorganized and dirty. The washer and dryer are in a disgusting basement. When we arrived, it seemed like they had only half cleaned. Trash was not taken out, BBQ grill was balanced on the pool fence, etc. As a reference point, I looked at the real estate estimate and history for this property. Each night I stayed there I paid approximately enough for a full month mortgage payment. That is some objective 3rd party evidence of how inappropriate the pricing is. I would suggest you consider staying anywhere else instead.

Wonderful stay at North Oaks home!

We had a spectacular time at this home! It is gorgeous and incredibly spacious! The hosts were extremely accommodating, and Megan was prompt with answering questions. We hosted a small wedding of 23 people there and it was the perfect spot. We could not have imagined a better place for our wedding! The minute we crossed the threshold we felt right at home and welcomed. There’s a large kitchen for prepping food and plenty of counter space for serving a buffet style meal. We held the ceremony in the large living room in front of the beautiful white fireplace and our guests were able to be seated in an intimate arrangement around us. There’s a table and eating space in the kitchen, just off the living room, which we used to serve appetizers before moving into the beautiful dining room where all our guests were able to be seated for dinner. The hosts had several tables, chairs, and tablecloths for us to use and their lovely décor was the perfect backdrop and ambience for an elegant and cozy wedding reception. There is even a foosball table and an arcade basketball game to keep guests entertained. With all the bedrooms, several of us where able to stay at the house, which made the occasion even more special getting to spend additional time with family and friends. The bedrooms worked well for getting ready and there were enough bathrooms that no one ever had to wait for a shower! We were especially delighted by the nursery off the main bedroom which came in so handy for my infant niece for a private space to feed, nap, and change diapers. This is the perfect place for a large group or family gathering! The home was very clean and had a lot of amenities including a very nice coffee maker! The TV in the living room is great for a night of movie watching as well. Everything was well labeled, and we easily found what we needed. I can see it’d also be a great place to stay in the summer with the pool, big back yard, fire pit, and large deck space! We didn’t want to leave and hope to go back again! A very special place for us!

The property was nice and in a beautiful area. The owner communicator through app. House worked well for a girls weekend but we definitely did not enjoy the birds. They were loud at times and right near the kitchen area. More parking space than we were told, which helped for people coming from different parts of the cities. One huge thing was when we first walked in, there was a bad smell. We figured out it was coming from the kitchen, then figured under the kitchen sink. There was a dead mouse in a trap in which had to have been there for a while. We took care of it but it was hard to get the smell out especially with the thermometers locked at 70 degrees. All in all it was a decent property and may be more fun in the summertime with the pool and deck etc.

Covid Wedding Home Base

My family and I used this VRBO as a home base for my wedding weekend and to host a small rehearsal dinner and reception. The home is very much as the photos portray, a large family home with generous spaces and full cupboards which worked great for us. That does come with some trade offs like full closets and some pet birds to be aware of if you were staying for longer. Overall this place helped us make the best of getting married in the middle of a pandemic which is exactly what we were looking for.

Good spot for a group or large family. Plenty of space in the yard for games and the pool was great! Host was accommodating, just be aware that the cleaning people might be a bit early on Sunday :) but other than that was a good spot for golfing adventures in the summer.

This house was generally dirty, with overflowing garbage and recycling cans. We thought the price charged was too high for what we got. I would not recommend the house in the condition it's in. On the plus side, it did accommodate a large group in the house's gathering room and dining room.

Hi Cyndee, thanks for talking this over with us. When you said it was generally dirty, you were referencing the garage which is always locked to guests. However, unfortunately before your stay it didn't get locked which we are so sorry for that. We do have the garbage and recycling bins in the garage as most guests who stay in the home bring 12 or more guests so we keep the garbage and recycling bins out of sight until the day of their pick-up. Again, our apologies that you had access to open up the garage door. We are bummed that you gave this review soley on the garage and not the actual home as I know the home was professionally cleaned, as always, the morning of arrival.

Perfect place to stay
