We loved our stay- it was a great place for our family to hang out together. Loved the location, and the house is gorgeous. Yes it’s old, but that’s what we loved- so much character! Well stocked, tons of beds and bedrooms, and lots of bonus areas. We would definitely stay again!

Thanks for your stay and for the kind words. Glad the home worked well for your group and that communication was smooth. We appreciate the feedback and are always working to make the experience even better.
We had a big group of us for a family wedding and overall we loved staying here! The house is very unique and it was so fun exploring all of the bedrooms. The pinball machine was a huge hit. We also loved the first floor space, it was big enough for all of us to hang out in. The only downsides were that the first floor bathroom was not very handicap friendly (the listing didn't say it was, so I wasn't expecting it), so something to keep in mind. It was hard for my grandparents to get in and out of the shower. Also there were a few spots that didn't feel super clean, but it is an old house and didn't stop us from having a great time!

Thanks so much for your thoughtful review. We’re really glad the home worked well for your group and that everyone had a great time, especially with the space and the pinball machine.
We also appreciate you mentioning the bathroom setup and cleanliness. That feedback is helpful and we’ll continue working on those details. Thanks again for staying with us.
The house was perfect for a large extended family. Our host was extremely responsive to any questions or concerns. Our grandkids loved the old fashion pinball machine!

Great place near cool little downtown area.
Enjoyed the stay. Nice place with lots of charm close to a cool downtown area.
We stayed here with a group of women for my mom’s 70th birthday. There were plenty of beds for everyone to have their own space, lots of bathrooms, and really cool layout of the home. Highly recommend for a large group!
Great house for a large group! 19 guests never felt crowded. Plenty of towels and dishes. House is older (built in 1888, I believe) so expect smaller bathrooms, low ceilings on third floor. Not terribly handicap friendly either. No central AC, but window units kept house plenty cool. Pinball and video game machines were added bonus.
Heating system was off when we arrived, but we learned how to turn the furnace on.Microwave oven in first-floor kitchen did not work.Neighborhood teens ring front doorbell at 6:00 AM and then run away. Annoying!Neighbors use driveway for parking (purple SUV). Annoying.Otherwise, all went well.

Hi! We made sure to turn the heat on upon your arrival. The SUV is parked in the neighbors driveway, not our driveway. Ours is the one directly behind the house. The microwave was working for us so let me know.
Thanks!
It was perfect for us as we had multiple couples and we all had plenty of space! And the group gathering area was perfect as well. The best surprise was that it was only 4 blocks where our grandparents lived decades ago, so was able to enjoy walking the old neighborhood. Would rent it again without hesitation!
We loved the house and its vintage look. Everyone was very comfortable and had a great time! The house was clean, comfortable and we would love to visit again! Thank you!
We had a group of friends, and this place was perfect!
Plenty of sleeping space, nice yard, second kitchen upstairs and great location. Highly recommend checking out Brunson's, a bar and grill right next to the house. If I need to accommodate a group again in the Twin Cities I will definitely rebook here!
What a huge, airy eclectic space. The books and games were an added unexpected bonus. Would stay here again, if ever back in St Paul

I love all things outdoors! Writing and advertising were my previous career ventures before becoming a vacation rental host full time. I also loves any excuse to travel :)
Why they chose this property
You’ll find some of the city’s best flavors on the East Side—come hungry! From the Korean inspired influences at Cook St. Paul to the try-it-all teaser flights at Tongue in Cheek. From locally roasted coffee with a side of vinyl at Caydence Records and Coffee to grass fed steak and decadently creative plates at The Strip Club Meat & Fish. From a neighborhood favorite pub, Ward 6, to local craft beers at Flat Earth Taproom and Sidhe Brewing Company, you’ll want to try them all.
Indian Mounds Regional Park is home to six Native American burial mounds high atop 450 million-year-old limestone and sandstone bluffs overlooking downtown Saint Paul. Lake Phalen offers golf, swimming and year-round trails. The Dragon Festival in July celebrates the diverse Asian Pacific heritage found here with performance, ethnic foods and dragon boat races.
What makes this property unique
Some unique aspects about my home include a gorgeous mural on one of the bedroom ceilings, as well as the homey decor and large dining space, and beautiful granite counter tops. There are some really amazing glass windows from when the home was built in the early 1900s. You'll notice the Victorian era woodwork both outside and inside of the home :)
