Property owner provided all the information we could have asked for. The property was clean and as advertised. The view looking at the mountain to the west was great. 12 minute drive to Bryce resort.

Lovely cabin in a great location!
Cabin was beautifully furnished and great that linens were supplied. Was surprised that bath towels did not include washcloths. Also missed having a microwave. Back area is a work in progress with old fence wires buried under leaves that are a tripping hazard. Overall a great place to relax and enjoy nearby Bryce Resort and Lake Laura.

James, thank you so much for your review. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay at our cabin. Based on your feedback, you'll be happy to know, we now provide washcloths and a microwave. The woods at the back of the house are still a work in progress after the previous owner. We hope to open that area up to guests in the near future. We hope you will keep us in mind for future stays in the Shenandoah.
Best wishes,
John & Parker
The house was exactly as described. Everything we needed for our short stay was provided. House was very clean and comfortable. The owner’s responded quickly to our questions and gave us tips about the area. Highly recommend Broadway house
It took nearly two years for me to come back to this property, and it was just as cozy and welcoming as I remembered. I love the brightness of the home, the minimalism, and the deck is glorious! My sister and I got to see both hummingbirds and snow in the span of 24 hours. I highly recommend!
I needed a quiet peaceful place to recharge and work uninterrupted on a project. This property was perfect. I really appreciated the tasteful minimalism, which is hard to find in cabin-type properties. The owners were great communicators and very responsive. I was there during winter so was not able to spend time on the deck and screen porch, but imagine it's lovely during the other three seasons. I didn't leave for three days, so I can't speak to the local attractions, but recommend if you are looking for a place to really get away from it all.
The cabin was very nice inside and comfortable. Although it did have a view of mountain trees I saw much nicer views along the same road prior to the cabin. If your going for quiet time in a clean comfortable place you won’t be disappointed. If your going for breathtaking views this isn’t the one.
What a perfect weekend started out hot (with a/c on than it got cold with wood stove on ) to take chill out of the air. Thanks the place was perfect and we enjoyed all the wine tours.
Cabin was exactly as described and check-in was easy (though it would be helpful to add a note about the door location, which is kinda "odd"). Perfect spot for our girls weekend which included hiking, going to caverns, visiting a few wineries and breweries and a drive through (part of) the Shenandoah National Park.
Great Cabin a Bit of a Hoof From the National Park
We had a fantastic stay. Beautiful property at a reasonable price. But if you are planning to stay in the park, be prepared for a bit of a drive. (It was a nice drive and John was completely accurate in his estimate of just under an hour). John was very responsive to all our concerns and needs.
My friend and I spent a long Spring weekend in this home and it was delightful. So quiet. Such a beautiful view.

Peaceful weekend getaway
First, in response to the previous poster, who must have stayed right before us, we saw NO evidence of the insect activity mentioned. The place was incredibly clean, so the comments are puzzling. This is, after all, a cabin in the woods, and yes you do see some insect activity, but hardly an infestation. We also wonder whether they contacted the owner about it, because we found John to be very responsive. In our experience, it's always better to contact the owner directly about an issue than to call them out in a public review.
This was by far one of the nicer and cleaner cabins we've rented (two couples) and we definitely will plan to stay again. The views from the deck were beautiful and peaceful. We loved watching the fog in the valley in the mornings. The cabin was well-equipped and comfortable. Thank you, John and Parker, for making your home available to us.

I'll Go With A Realty Company Next Time
Unlike the realty companies in the past that I've booked with who inspect the properties before I arrived, its clear no one did this. The place had a serious termite or ant problem with half the stove covered in shavings from their activity. In a realty rental, I could have called them and switched out to another rental unit..but no such luck with VRBO, its caveat emptor. Never again.

Good Morning,
We're sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay. We wish you had reached out to us directly with any issues and we would have worked with you to resolve them.
In response to your comment - we do not have a termite or ant issue. The debris on the stove is related to a water leak from the skylight above the stove. Around the time of your stay we had some major rains that contributed to a crack in the ceiling that allowed particles from the roof to fall on the stove. As soon as we learned of the issue, we scheduled a roofing company to replace the skylight and repair the roof.
We take great care of our home and hope that everyone's stay is a pleasant one. If a guest does not report an issue to us, we can only assume they are enjoying their stay and that there are no issues.
We apologize again that you were not satisfied with your stay.
Best regards,
John & Parker

Beautiful home with gorgeous views
My boyfriend and I stayed here for a long weekend trip and loved it. It is a beautiful, rustic but modern place, with a gorgeous view of the mountain ridges. We also loved the fully equipped kitchen which allowed us to cook several meals together. The cabin is very comfortable as well, and when we were not outdoors, we entertained ourselves with watching the many dvds (there is no wifi or cable as the posting had described). There are some nice hiking nearby, and we also tried paddleboarding at Lake Laura which was fun! John and Parker were also very timely in responding to our questions. The only downside, which we basically accepted as a part of being in the mountains like this, is that it is a drive (20-30min) away from grocery stores and or restaurants but we were well aware of that. Overall a great stay!

Cozy, bright and airy home with scenic view
House was very nice, clean, attractive and good for two people since only 1 bathroom. Nice deck, part of which is screened. TV was a bit of challenge to figure out, and after determining that we found there were only 2-3 channels available. Wanted to grill something for dinner, but found the grill had been left uncovered and there was quite a bit of corrosion, as well as what appeared to be a faulty ignition. No A/C, but fortunately there are ceiling fans in both bedrooms and in dining area which did help to cool things down comfortably. It would be very desirable to have cable or satellite TV instead of just a couple local channels, and directions written out as to how to use electronics. Working grill would have been nice as well. Home is located 30 mins. from Mt. Jackson and Google maps (and probably Mapquest as well) leads you off I-81 and eventually to a road that is very narrow, not quite paved, and has the potential for washout in severe rain. There is a very sensible and desirable alternative to the use of this road which we learned after we arrived. Might be helpful to alert your guests that are coming off of I-81 the best way to get to the house.

Perfect!
This was exactly what I was looking for! A quiet place in the mountains/woods, with a great view. Plenty of natural light and windows, and for 800 sqrft, it is quite open and roomy. The beds were very comfortable, plenty of pillows, toiletries and towels were provided. The owners also gave a list of attractions and things to do in the area with a description of each. Which was both nice and helpful. If you stay here I'd recommend eating at Springhouse Tavern in Woodstock. It was within 30mins, and had awesome comfort food and a good beer selection.
