The home was very clean. The difficulty was that the doorways were short; my husband is over 6 ft, and he had to duck to get into rooms. Overall, the stay was comfortable, and it was an easy location for restaurants and shopping.

Upstairs view was great. Cleaner didn't do a veryGood job... dusty and mirrors weren't even cleaned .I didn't use the wardrobe at all, Since it had hairs and dusty inside.The story and history of the place was cool. For the price & unkept feel all around...I wouldn't stay here again.

We're sorry the mirror wasn't cleaned to our standard and the wardrobe was dusty; we've addressed it with our cleaning team. We do wish we had heard about these concerns upon your arrival or during your stay, as any of them could have been fixed within minutes, had you reached out. For future guests: our listing describes this home as a quintessential old-school Outer Banks beach cottage, and we mean it. It's a historic home full of character, across the street from the ocean, with constant ocean breezes guests love. With that location, a little sand and salt air find their way inside no matter how often we clean. If you want a brand-new, picture-perfect property, we recommend booking elsewhere, as our listing says. For guests who appreciate that kind of charm, it's a truly special place to stay as evidence of our reviews.

Great Place to Stay

Serendipity was just as described. Lots of charm and beautiful location. Mike and Nikki are wonderful hosts. They respond quickly and make every effort to make your stay a pleasurable experience. Serendipity is truly a gem for those of us with a dog.

The property was in a great location with sunrise views from the top deck and an easy walk to be at the waves. Being in Kitty Hawk was great for day trips to Hatteras or Corolla. My husband and I, along with our dog, enjoyed 4 days at Serendipity. It is clean, cozy and comfy. The yard is completely fenced which was great for our dog! We loved the multiple outdoor seating options, especially the roof top deck which provides great ocean views. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was stocked with everything you need to fix a meal and we were steps away from the beach. It was also nice having restaurants within walking distance. Check in/check out was simple and Mike and Nikki were so responsive and communicative throughout the entire process; from the initial booking to checkout! I look forward to staying here again for any future OBX trip.

Short walk to the beach

On the Beach road around mile post 4. This is located in the older section of town and the home is rustic but very charming. There is a roof top deck with a great ocean view! But if you don't want to climb to the top there is a lovely deck mid level and deck chairs near the car port with a sand floor. We only used the Master bedroom and the bed was comfortable. The shower was small but the water was hot. They supplied paper towels, toilet paper, liquid soap & dish detergent. There was ever a can of coffee with filters. But they also has a K pod with a mini filter. We will certainly stay here again! Oh, I forgot to mention we had our dog with us and the fenced property was a bonus!!!!
