A lovely modern cottage.

We had a lovely stay at Anley cottage, everything we needed was there (apart from a vegetable peeler ) and we loved the quirky decor. The beds were wonderfully comfortable but considering the heat it would have been handy to have the option of lighter bedding. It didn't matter too much, we just slept on top of the duvets. The street was very peaceful, apart from a visiting hedgehog which we had to rescue out of our recycling. All in all we had a stay at this property and would highly recommend it!

Thank you for a lovely review and we are pleased you enjoyed your stay. Poor little hedgehog, I am pleased he had you looking out for him. We will get the vegetable peeler replaced, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Quaint cottage with beautiful furnishings.

We have stayed here twice for long weekends in the lakes. This cottage offers all you could need, comfortable beds and a beautiful living area with a wood burning stove. Short walking distance to all amenities in Keswick including restaurants and bars with great access to hikes around Derwent water. Highly recommend.

Lovely cottage, great location

Well located. a short walk from centre of Keswick. The cottage has been beautifully refurbished with lots of lovely details. There is a small outdoor space, perfect for sitting out with a glass of wine if the sun shines! Parking is tight but there is room for a car at the back. Would definitely recommend.
Response from VrboOwner on 7 Jul, 2025
Thank you for your review. The garden is a sun trap when the sun shines and an added bonus is the private parking which doesn't happen often in Keswick. We hope to welcome you back again in the future.

Birthday break.

A few days away with my daughters and granddaughter. The cottage had everything we needed for a cosy stay within easy walking distance of the town and it's shops and bars. A highchair would have been very useful (too much baby stuff to bring with us!).
Response from VrboOwner on 10 Sept, 2025
Thank you for your lovely review of Anley, we have passed your comments onto the owner regarding the high chair for their consideration. We hope we can welcome you back again in the future.

A Wonderful Relaxing Getaway

The cottage provides a perfect escape to relax and unwind. The Location of the cottage couldn't be better to explore Keswick and beyond. The bus service is easy to use and it is lovely to come back to a clean cosy space after a day of adventures. We were able to enjoy walking around the lake and warm up by the fire in the evening. The cottage has everything you'd need for a comfortable stay, we will be back!

Perfect retreat for an active holiday

We had an amazing stay at this lovely cottage! It truly has everything you need for a fantastic getaway. The location is perfect, offering access to a variety of activities like running, walking and cycling. The owners have even installed a bike rack which made it super easy to store our bikes — a great idea! Everything you need is right on your doorstep, and with the car parked, we could easily explore the area on foot or by bus. We will definitely be back and on the list next time will be lake swimming and renting a rowing boat.

Warm, Cosy Cottage Nestled In Keswick

Anley Cottage was just what we needed when we decided to spend some time in the Lake District. Located near the centre of Keswick, it offers excellent transport links to popular spots like Grasmere, Ambleside, and Windermere, with frequent bus services. It's also a short walk to Derwentwater. Inside, the cottage was clean and cosy, featuring a well-equipped kitchen, dining area and a living space with a lovely log burner. I couldn't recommend this place enough.

We’ll Be Back

We truly loved our stay in this beautiful home! The home was warm, inviting and clean. The shower was also large and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was well stocked and the house was well heated by the central heating. We had brought logs with us, but we didn’t end up using them - the house warmed up quickly! The (1) private car park space was also highly appreciated, as the street out front and surrounding area are quite busy. We have every intention of returning next year ☺️

A really wonderful cottage

The accommodation is beautifully presented, finished to a really high standard. A few lovely little quirks in the property give it real character. Very close to the centre of Keswick, this is the ideal location if venturing into town or heading off to the hills. We particularly loved the old railway line from Keswick to Threlkeld, with breathtaking scenery and great for a family cycle without worrying about busy roads, particularly with two children racing off ahead. Overall a lovely few days in the Lakes, with an immaculate base to venture out from.
Response from VrboOwner on 20 Feb, 2025
Thank you for a lovely review, we are pleased you and the children enjoyed your stay. The Keswick to Threlkeld path is a great walk/cycle with children, all the benefits of fresh air and scenery without the need to take those with little legs up the mountains.

Perfect Stay!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Anley Cottage, and I must say, it was the perfect retreat for a relaxing getaway. Being first-time visitors to Keswick, we were pleasantly surprised by everything the town had to offer. One standout experience was the cinema—a charming, old-style venue that truly added to the charm of the area. The location of the cottage couldn’t have been better, with beautiful walks right on the doorstep. We managed to conquer Catbells and also stumbled upon Surprise Point, on the way to Watendlath Bothy. The views were incredible, and the peaceful surroundings made it an unforgettable experience. If you’re doing the circular walk around Derwentwater, I highly recommend stopping at The Mary Mount for lunch, or even the Lingholm Kitchen & Walled Garden—it’s the perfect spot to unwind after a scenic walk. It was great to be able to return to a cosy cottage after a day out exploring the area. Overall, our stay was nothing short of amazing, and we’re already planning our next visit to Anley Cottage. Highly recommended!
