Very good

Such a lovely area and the host was very helpful with very good communication. Only thing I'd mention is I noticed there was a lot of pet hair on my bedding. As someone who is allergic to some pets this wasn't ideal, but the rest of the house was lovely
Lovely chalet and facilities. Only 2 problems noted. The grass around the chalet needed cutting. We reported a fault with the toilet continuously the house keeper’s husband came out but was unable to fix it. We had to switch of the water to the boiler on the night time as it disturbed our sleep. besides these 2 issues our stay was very enjoyable and would definitely stay there again.

Disappointing
This is a lovely setting very close to the donkey sanctuary, which my granddaughter loved. Communication was initially good with a seamless check in. However when I discovered a badly stained mattress and reported it, rather than trying to rectify it they blamed me for spilling something that I absolutely didn't! It was clearly a dried old stain. The chalet was superficially clean, but stay a while and you realise it needs a deep clean. Not child friendly in that we requested a cot and a high chair, which was turned down on the grounds of "health & safety". Which in fact seems paradoxical for our toddler. There are a number of maintenance issues which need attention: misted up windows, water pressure in the shower is poor and the shower door doesn't close properly. If these issues were attended to this property could be lovely. The environment is quiet and secluded and pleasant. It is close to the donkey sanctuary and a short drive to amenities. But I wouldn't return.
It was fine - but a huge amount of money for what it was. Given that the property was billed as ‘four-star’ and ‘luxury’, we were expecting a lot more. The television didn’t work properly. The internet was very unreliable. The shower door wouldn’t close. The mattresses were cheap and uncomfortable, and the duvets were cheap and nasty. The place wasn’t in a great state of repair (including a leaking tap in the kitchen and a window that wouldn’t close) and wasn’t particularly clean - the floors especially were filthy. The place was also like a sauna as the heated towel rail had been left on (and it was 28 degrees outside), and it took us a while to figure out how to switch it off. There were also none of the little touches you’d expect in a ‘luxury’ place, such as hand soap in the bathroom, or washing up liquid/dishwasher detergent in the kitchen. The kitchen was extremely poorly equipped with just four of everything - cups, plates, glasses, bowls - which meant we were constantly washing up. None of this is a disastrous - but it’s not acceptable when you are paying luxury prices. Perhaps what you are paying for is mostly the location - but maybe stop billing this as a ‘luxury chalet’, because it definitely is not.
