About this property
COZY COTTAGE with thoughtful touches close to the AIRPORT, DOWNTOWN, & OPRY
There is just something about this house that is so cozy & welcoming. The yard is large, with some very tall, old trees that make it feel like you are in your own world, yet this location is anything but detached from the things you need & want in Nashville!!
This is a great LOCATION especially if you have an early flight out, or plan to go to the Opry & downtown. Taking an Uber or Lyft is inexpensive (around $15 to downtown) and quite available due to the proximity to the airport.
PETS: I do allow pets, but have a few requests in order to continue to allow them, as well as some things that may make it easier for you!
First, please cover furniture that the fur babies may lounge or jump on to protect these items from dirt, fur, dander and drool. It makes the cleanup way easier! I have pet specific blankets and towels at the house for this purpose that you are more than welcome to use and leave dirty. Second, please limit their roaming to the downstairs to keep an area of the house pet free for those future guests that may be more sensitive. There is a door that separates the area, so it is very simple. Lastly, these little loves are guests just like humans! Please mark that you are bringing a pet. This will generate a small pet fee. I do have some medium sized dog dishes that you are welcome to use to save from bringing any. There is also a pooper scooper in the fenced area near the patio. Please pick up after your pet! I would prefer that pets be crated when left alone since being in a strange new place with different smells can cause the little angels to behave differently than when they are on their own turf! There is an extra large crate under the bed in the back bedroom for you are welcome to use. Crates can scratch the hardwoods so again feel free to raid the blankets and towels in the pet cabinet.
The downstairs BEDROOMS each have queen beds, a closet, and built in drawers for clothes storage if you don't like to live out of your suitcase. They each have TVs, as well with local antenna reception and Rokus with access to YouTubeTV which is much like cable. Read on for more details on TVs.
The "LOFT": Bedroom #3. It is upstairs and features 2 comfy full sized beds, and a day bed & trundle- both single sized beds. Please check out the listing photos to see the set up! It does also have a TV (not shown) with antenna & Roku, as well. Again, please keep this area pet free.
In the "loft" there is futon style couch and chaise, so these are the 7th and 8th BEDS. I have added extra memory foam to make these super comfy both for sitting or sleeping! They are made up with sheets and a blanket, but are set up for sitting. Simply pull the backs towards you to release the latch to lay them flat.
PARKING is available anywhere in the driveway or carport. You may park 2 cars wide in the straight part of the driveway, but please don't park in the yard. Please always exit the driveway closest to the mailbox as visibility is limited from the hill side. Also, please mind the CULVERTS especially when turning right in from the street! The shoulder is narrow, & the ditch is deep. It could cause serious damage to your vehicle if you end up in there. There are driveway markers to help keep you in the safe zone. If you hit them, you are DANGEROUSLY close to damaging your vehicle. Take it slow and you should be fine!
The TVs have plenty of apps for your entertainment, antenna TV, and I have YouTube TV with LIVE TV for your use. YouTubeTV is a streaming version of cable, but also has unlimited DVR capability. I've scheduled some shows and movies to record already! If there is something you MUST see, just let me know and I'll add it to record. I also have several music apps on there and you are welcome to enjoy them and any other subscription service, but please do not purchase anything. I don't have Netflix or other services, but you are welcome to log into yours. Remember to log out of them after to protect your account. If the YouTubeTV kicks a TV off of the log in (which it does on occasion) it will give a code. You can message me with that code and I can reauthorize remotely.
ALEXA: She is connected to Sirius XM and Pandora, so you can ask her to play your favorite station! She should also be able to lock the side door for you, but I find she is very forgetful about her skills.
COFFEE & TEA are available. The coffee maker can brew a full pot for my larger groups, but also brews individual cups with loose coffee or k-cups. Instructions are inside the cabinet door above. Google "Hamilton Beach Flex Brew" if you are coffee obsessed. Or try the new French Press! There is also a stove top tea kettle.
The side door has a keypad LOCK. The code will be changed with each guest for your security and convenience.
WILDLIFE. There is a lot here! I have embraced it and have some gardening practices to support biodiversity and the creatures that abound. It isn't uncommon for deer to graze the "back 40" and lightning bugs to dot the yard at night! Native gardening has become a bit of an obsession! But with this means leaves get left behind for the lightning bugs and parts of the lawn left a little long for the grazers and dragonflies (they eat SO many mosquitoes!) There is some method to the madness I promise! I do try to balance it with the needs of my human guests, though!
DAMAGE PROTECTION & PAYMENT options: I have the damage protection set to a security deposit (refundable 14 days after checkout). However, if you prefer the insurance for damage protection instead (a non-refundable fee), let me know BEFORE you confirm your booking and I can change it. I wish I were able to offer the option up front, but the settings do not allow me to. After booking you will be offered the insurance policy option, but it would be in addition to the security deposit, so be sure to notify me first if you prefer that option. I also have the ability to customize how the charges are divided in up to 3 payments. Again, this is best done before booking, so let me know so we get it set up correctly the first time!
This home is registered with Metro Codes, & has met all of the requirements for the permit including the fire marshal inspection. There are interconnected smoke & CO2 alarms throughout.
I hope you find this home as charming as I do!

About the host
Hosted by Emily Peck

I'm a musician in Nashville, but have always wanted to have my own business, and here it is! I love hosting, and this is a dream come true!
Why they chose this property
The charm oozes out of this little house. It's hard to explain, but I think it likes hosting as much as I do! When I first looked at this house, I fell in love. I put an offer in on it, but didn't get it. But that contract fell through, so I tried again! And I still just love it. I refinished the hardwood floors myself, and painted the extensive wood paneling throughout the home, and love it even more! I've bonded with this house now for sure! I can't spend enough time here.
What makes this property unique
My goal with decorating was to create a space that would make my guests feel like they are in a 1950's vintage-feel home, with the updates that makes modern life wonderful. I am always working on details, so the listing pictures may change, and the home may get even better between now and your stay!
This home was recently used as a shoot for Austin Jenckes' music video "Fat Kid". Scenes were shot in the front bedroom and dining area.
Be on the lookout for all kinds of critters! The wildlife love it here! Hawks, skunks (eek), racoons, foxes, woodpeckers, bunnies, and the resident groundhog Fat Stanley. Stanley lives under the small shed, and I believe he has a new friend that visits as well. They love to graze in the open area behind the sheds.
Easy access to interstates make it easy to get around town, and proximity to the airport means Lyft and Uber are readily available and quick to arrive. There is also a Music City Star train station nearby.
There are a multitude of restaurants in the area, and several grocery stores. You can also get just about any delivery service you need or want. There are recommendations in the red guest guidebook on the dining hutch, as well as house specific info.
