We loved our stay!
We couldn't be happier with our stay at Hacienda Leyba - the beds were comfortable, the house was cozy, it was close to the Plaza, and everything we needed for kitchen utensils and linens was provided! We were so much more comfortable here than in a hotel room, and we saved money by being able to fix some of our own meals. We would definitely go back again!

Thank you Barb! It's always a joy to hear our guests feel right at home and are comfortable. We agree it is ideally located, without downtown traffic and we do try to provide as much as possible in the kitchen for your convenience. We look forward to having you back!
Loved staying here. It was clean, cozy, quiet and had everything we needed for our short 4 day spring break trip. The fireplace was easy to manage and plenty of firewood. Very close to the plaza. Easy to find and parking was simple.
This property is in an amazing location, close to everything close to downtown. The owners were very responsive when I noticed the shower faucet was leaking. Great place to stay, and all the amenities are nearby. Definitely worth checking out if you will be in the Santa Fe area.
This property exceeded our expectations. It was centrally located near shopping and the historic district. Flora and Wanette are the perfect hosts!

Therese, thank you so very much! Our goal is that our guests always feel at home and have a very enjoyable stay at Casa de Lucero. I agree, the home is centrally located and convenient to not only the downtown area but other great sites and restaurants in Santa Fe. It was lovely to have met you and we do hope you will return to visit soon.
We rented this home for artists performing on our concert series. The house is well-appointed, and their stay was very comfortable.

Came to Santa Fe with 2 friends, this is a cute house with a great location. Delightful furnishings. Thanks for sharing your home!

Perfect spot. Traveled to visit our son who lives in same neighborhood. Owners very friendly and accommodating. Asked about crib for infant and they provided a pack and play. Thanks!
The stay was good the host was accurate and up to date on communication. Everything worked well in the house and everything was so close to the house. The only thing is the beds were a little hard. Other than that I’d recommend this place to stay when in sante fe.

Thank you for your review Anthony. We are sorry the you found the beds a little hard for your personal preference and this is the first mention of this by any of our guests. We had guests there a week prior to your stay and they found the beds to be comfortable - we will certainly look into this.
Location and space were great. Owner was lovely. Unfortunately, there was a foul odor that was not solved--after many attempts--and definitely impacted the quality of the stay. We were out all day, but being in the house nights was a disappointment to our get-away.

Dennis, thank you for staying at Casa de Lucero and again we do apologize for the odor in the one bedroom. We finally were able to find the cause, a dead squirrel under the house. This is the first time that has happened and we have taken precautions so no other squirrels are able to get under the house. We do hope you will come again for another visit in the future. Thank you for your understanding!

Comfy Home For 3 Couples, Wonderful Location, Gracious Hosts
Our comfortable hacienda was a welcome respite from the crowds of Christmas-week Santa Fe. Each bedroom was unique and well equipped, as was the kitchen (which included a full-sized washer & dryer set. We loved the warmth of the south-facing glass patio out front, and the quiet privacy of the back-yard patio. The large kitchen/dining room table was used more for oversized jigsaw puzzles, or dinner for 6. 7 minutes to Whole Foods & Trader Joes, 8 minutes to Meow Wolf, 9 minutes to the plaza, 4 minutes walk to a nice park, and 5 minutes to the highway to Albuquerque. Flora and Wanette made sure everything was 'just right", including a Christmas Eve apple pie. The home includes off-street parking for 2, which was nice. My only issue was that the fireplace in the picture was sealed, and a cozy fire would have been nice.

Thank you so very much Tom! It truly was our pleasure to have you and your sweet family here! Knowing that you had such a comfortable stay is very reassuring. The home is conveniently located I agree. I do apologize for not pointing out that the fireplace was accessible. Due to the cold weather we cover the front to help eliminate any draft. Firewood, fire starters and matches were found next to the fireplace, we have now posted signage for future guests and I will specify it is indeed ready for their use. I am actually having a special insert made for the Kiva fireplace that will be easier to remove. We hope you come back to visit soon!
On bucket list was to visit Santa Fe. We wanted to make a spiritual retreat. Our host made this possible. The home is a quiet neighborhood. The owner even came and checked on us. The beds were so comfortable, it almost made impossible for us to leave the property. It was cold outside but inside, very comfortable and warm. Plenty of places to go get something to eat, a grocery store near by and close enough to visit the town. A wonderful place to rest, relax and just to getaway.

Carlos, it was a pleasure to have you and your family stay at Casa de Lucero! It’s so nice knowing our guests not only enjoyed the house but also the neighborhood and surrounding area.
Beware that when booking, you will be required to purchase damage insurance of $99, which is not disclosed. However, this is a comfortable, cozy old house with creaky hardwood floors, a log-wood ceiling, a fireplace and lots of character... absolutely spotless. It is decorated with old collectibles and a wonderful display of pottery on top of the kitchen cabinets.
The yard is a bit unkept, but the beds, down blankets, and towels are great. A closed-in porch is a nice place to relax after a busy day. The third bedroom and second bath are in a converted garage. If cooking, you need to know that the kitchen lacks a dishwasher and garbage disposal. Overall, it is close to everything and the host is great!

Thank you Inez for staying at Casa de Lucero. So glad you enjoyed your stay. As per the property damage protection fee, it does appear in our listing so guests are well aware prior to booking, I believe you didn't see that portion. In the high desert southwest we do try to conserve our water usage so yes, we don't have any green grass in the front or back yards - wish we did! The house is very cozy and relaxing and we do appreciate your review.
Wonderful place to stay. House was clean, well located. Hosts were friendly and very responsive. They even Brough us some fresh grown fruits and vegetables. Highly recommend this place to stay in Santa Fe.
We enjoyed this place very much. Classy, clean, and everything we needed are available. Owner is wonderful and caring.

It was our pleasure to host you and your family for a few days while you enjoyed skiing! You were very friendly, polite and considerate guests who looked after Casa de Lucero extremely well. We have no hesitation in recommending you to other hosts and hope you all return again.
We really enjoyed our stay here over Christmas. The property is great- clean, roomy, relaxing. There was plenty of space for our group of 5 to spread out over our several day stay. The location is very convenient for getting into the central area of Santa Fe quickly, but the neighborhood is very quiet and non-touristy, which is a nice bonus. We also liked that the driveway could accommodate two cars without having to park on the street.
The only suggestion for improvement we could think of would be to have extra pillows on hand (like a hotel would), if people might need them to sleep better. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return again on a future trip!

Cozy Retreat for Day Excursions in and around Santa Fe
This was a great property for a family of three; Mom, Dad, and teenage daughter. Two bathrooms is always a must for us. That both bathrooms had showers was a plus. The house is well equipped; we were never missing anything that vacation renters usually expect (plenty of towels, blankets, hangers, toilet paper, paper towels, dishes, utensils, other kitchen supplies, etc). The property is located in a pleasant neighborhood that's easy to get to and from, with lots of classic adobe houses to admire during evening strolls. It's also conveniently located for attractions in Santa Fe as well as the greater surrounding area. We visited the Georgia O'Keeffe museum (excellent!), Georgia O'Keeffe's home in Abiquiu (a must for O'Keeffe fans), Meow Wolf (very cool), Los Alamos, Bandelier National Monument, some vintage clothing stores, and lots of nice restaurants and shops; all within easy reach from this home base. We like vacation house rentals so that we have a "home" to return to in the evenings rather than a hotel, and this property fit that description very nicely. The kitchen is fully functional and well equipped and there are grocery stores near by. We enjoyed a nice breakfast at the house every morning and had dinner there one evening as well, with no issues. Reliable WiFi kept us well connected for searching and planning and we also had good Verizon LTE cell coverage from this location. Owners and managers make a huge difference in the overall rental experience. This property's owner and manager were excellent. The owner, Flora, made an effort to meet us but we missed her (our fault). I mention it because it was a nice and appreciated gesture, as was the lovely welcome gift she left for us. You don't always get these things with vacation rentals and such gestures speak well of how much she cares about the quality of her guests' visits. Fora's daughter, Wanette, was also top notch. She managed the rental process flawlessly from start to finish, was consistently quick with communications, and offered lots of great tips for restaurants and other things in the area. Very much appreciated! All in all, we would rate this among our best vacation rentals. We would gladly return to this property and we recommend it to other Santa Fe vacationers without exception.

Great house! You don’t want to leave. Showed up with a quick trip to doctors since my daughter was sick. Both owners called to see how she was doing. Highly recommend this house and the hosts!
