Beautiful cottage with all the facilities you need in a high end accommodation. Off the beaten track in a quiet location but not far from some lovely walks, historical sights, towns and villages. Had a very enjoyable few days staying at Byre Cottage.
Clean and a very nice cottage in a good location for seeing the area.Hosts were on hand but everything was fine so not needed.Information was at hand in the cottage for trains and eateries ,we all enjoyed our stay.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Byre Cottage. It was extremely comfortable and a perfect landing spot to begin our holiday. The location was ideal for touring East Lothian and a short trips into Edinburgh. Thank you Giles and Sarah, for your hospitality and kindness.
We enjoyed our stay in the cottage and the rural landscape. Our children considered the cottage as their home from the first minute on.With North Berwick's beaches and Edinburgh on the door step and both accessible by train, we really found what we were looking for.
A perfect place for a tranquil holiday - nestled deep in the countryside, with great walks nearby. A very comfortable cottage with everything needed and more, and extremely comfortable beds! For light sleepers - some creaking floors, and no shops close so a car is certainly recommended. For trips into Edinburgh, the station is a short car journey, and the train takes less than 30 minutes. A little difficult to find at first, but certainly worth the effort. Overall, highly recommended.
A beautiful little cottage in a super peaceful location within easy walking distance of Drem train station with regular trains. The cottage was cosy, beautifully decorated and well equipped, it's a little tricky to find in the dark but that would be my only slight negative. We would happily stay here again.
The property was very nice, very clean, had a lovely little sunny spot to sit outside.Extremely quiet and peaceful.Good location for seeing all the local attractions.Found a lovely restaurant in Haddington called riverside bistro.
The cottage was positioned in a wonderful area with walks from the door, the coast close by and Edinburgh easily accessible by train. We would thoroughly recommend the cottage as a base to explore the East Lothian area.
A superbly well-equipped cottage to suit every need. Although not easy to find at the first attempt (Google struggled), the “village” of Drem is ideally located for all the local golf courses (Craigielaw, Gullane, Muirfield, North Berwick, etc), as will as an easy train ride into Edinburgh. Giles and Sarah were excellent hosts -and responded immediately to any questions. Just don’t expect high speed Internet in Drem yet
The rooms were perfect, the flexibility to have either a queen or twins in either room suited us, all the amenities were there. We knew the area and the narrow roads so that didn't put us off. It really is a lovely area with lots of great walks and natural settings. You might need to research or ask to find the best ones though. The cottage is in a courtyard which is a bit tight to drive into - our modern car beeped all the time with imminent impact warnings!
