This updated 1880's Victorian home is known for the expansive front porch, where there is always a breeze from Wychmere Harbor. The first floor holds a large dining room seating 12, a handicapped accessible bedroom with a canopied queen sized bed and bath, and two parlors with lots of comfortable seating. The second floor has 5 bedrooms: Two have private baths, three bedrooms share a common bath. Two of the bedrooms have twins, one has bunkbeds, the other two are canopied queens. We provide the linens for you. A caretaker's apartment is located off the back of the house.
The location is ideal for one who wants to leave the car parked. Grab our beach chairs and cart and walk to the beach alongside Wychmere Harbor, the most-photographed harbor on Cape Cod.

Wonderful summer rental. Great location with 10-15 minute walk to 2 beaches and a shorter walk to restaurants/ bars. Charming house with beautiful porch and yard. Ample seating inside and out for large groups. Very well equipped kitchen. Super responsive and nice host.
Dining and living areas very comfortable and spacious. Having 3 bedrooms with private baths was a plus as well as outdoor shower.
Large porch and side yard were lovely. Overall, a pleasant experience.
Nice location. Property as advertised. Nice outdoor space.

Our families stayed for a week this summer. Had a wonderful time - great location (around the corner from THE BEST ice cream shop - walked there every night after dinner). The boys (all adults) played Frisbee, etc in the large yard every day, we walked to the beach every day -- you can't park any closer to the beach without permits. Enjoyed the porch morning, noon & night. The best part was the ability to have all of our meals 'in'. Great kitchen, outdoor grill, etc. We will definitely be back.

Thank you for the positive feedback. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We hope to see you back soon!
Great location within walking distance to a small beach and downtown Harwichport - and best of all - The Sundae School!
The house is big enough to fit 12 people comfortably. The beautiful wrap around front porch is amazing with two big picnic tables that could fit our whole crew! Nice lawn for playing corn hole! It would be nice if the house came with some lawn games (we brought our own)
The house is old and not fancy but it has charm - the kitchen is small - definitely tricky to have more than a few people working in there at a time.
Maggie was great! Very responsive and easy to work with.
Maggie is wonderful and responded immediately to our questions. The house is in a great location within walking distance to 2 public beaches. The covered porch is expansive and has picnic tables and comfortable chairs and the kitchen is well equipped. The house was immaculate!
We had a great stay, check-in and check-out was super easy. The house is in a great location to walk to town, ice cream and restaurants. Easy access to any of the Harwichport beaches.
This house was very spacious and clean. It also was in an excellent location - with walking distance to a beach and to the cute town of Harwich Port. House was built in 1888 but has all the modern amenities needed. Highly recommend!
We spent almost two weeks in the house with 3 children and 2 grandparents. The house is an older house in reasonably good condition - there were two “master bedrooms” with bathrooms which worked for us. Only the bedrooms have A/C and they worked well to keep those rooms cool. Fans were provided for the other rooms. The house is within walking distance to the Main Street and to the beach which was great.
The owner was very accommodating and worked with us to adjust our reservation due to Hurricane Henri and our flights being cancelled twice.
Location was great for walking to the beach for morning swims. House was well stocked with everything we needed. The house itself was perfect and the yard was great for croquet.
Spent a week at this property in mid-August '21 with family and friends - the house was very spacious and an easy walk to downtown Harwichport and shopping, bars, and restaurants.
A few things we really appreciated about our stay:
(1) each bedroom had its own AC unit so those of us who like to sleep in a cold room could have that and others who appreciated the cool beach air at night could sleep with their windows open.
(2) The host was easy to deal with and prompt to answer any questions we had. They also provided plenty of chairs and umbrellas for our use at the beach... and the use of the gas grill was a great amenity for when I was cooking for a crowd.
(3) The kitchen was fully stocked with plates, bowls, cooking utensils and pots/pans - didn't have to look hard to find what we needed. Plenty of showers and room for everyone to spread out both inside and outside.
(4) The house is an older home, which gives it a fun and unique charm - but it has most of the modern amenities that are expected in a beach/vacation rental.
We all agreed we'd stay here again when we go back for another weeklong vacation.
From the gitgo the communication snd information was clear and accurate. Ms Stella was accommodating every step of booking, checking in snd out. I highly recommend this property.
This home is even larger than it appears. There was plenty of room for our family of 8 and plenty to spare. The host was very responsive and I would highly recommend this home for a stay on the cape with an extended family or even a group of families/couples.

Great location but….
I hate to leave a negative review but this just wasn’t the best property for our family. I will leave a list of Pros & Cons because, as a guest I would have liked to know this information before I booked.
Pros: GREAT location in Harwich Port. Walking distance to all the Main Street restaurants and shops. It does sleep quite a few people and has multiple bathrooms. Lots of beach chairs for guests use. Owner was very easy to reach and very agreeable.
Cons: No air conditioning other than window units in most of the bedrooms. This made the main areas of the house almost unbearable to be in w/the moderate heat and 94% humidity. It was physically uncomfortable for most of our stay. There was constant condensation on the wood floors (from the outside humidity) and we were sweating in the house the entire time. The house is extremely old, which I do not mind but this was not “charming old”. This was musty smelling, not-well-maintained old. Some of the most basic details, like toilet paper holders, were non-existent. So, 4 bathrooms and not one had a toilet paper holder. Instead, each bathroom had a stack of TP behind the toilets. Not very functional. In addition, the kitchen was way to small for a house that accommodates up to 12 people.

Michelle,
Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry to hear how uncomfortable your stay at Harborwalk turned out; it was definitely not the weather we all hope for during the summer. I wish I had known of your concerns during the week so I could have made arrangements for additional window units to be installed in the living areas. We are happy to hear how much the family enjoyed the location and all Harwich Port has to offer!
Thank you,
Maggie
We had great time vacationing with extended family. Everyone (11 people) was comfortable. Location is great. 10 min walk to Merkel beach. Property is clean, well maintained and fully stocked. Even beach chairs and other gear is available. There's also outdoor shower and a large grill. It was perfect for us.
Impressive property, perfect location near my son’s wedding. Even though we had 2 tornadoes, no power for a day, and a tree down, we were all good and Maggie was the best in keeping us informed. We lived on the porch - loved it!!!!!! Would highly recommend staying here! Very comfortable bedrooms and living areas. Very clean. And historical. The house is not air conditioned except for the bedrooms, but there were nice breezes through the windows so very comfortable. Even tho near the town we had visits from bunnies, chipmunks, and a fox!
This is a great house if you have a large group of people staying together for the week. There are plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The front and side porch and picnic tables are great for cooler nights. The location is convenient to Sunday School Ice Cream, town and Bank Street Beach.
The house was clean and in really good condition, lots of beach gear onsite and easy access to the local beaches.
Great stay!
Great house to rent if you have a Wedding at the Wychmere. Very close to the venue. Great house. The farmers porch was utilized every day. Short walk to the beach.

Great week!
Wonderful old house. We spent the day at the beach and used every chair and the boogie boards. We ate out on the porch at the picnic tables every night. We slept well in the beds. It was nice to have the beds made up and the towels provided. 4 parking spots were a luxury. We walked to the music festival in the town one night. We went fishing for a half day and then cooked out on the grill that night. 5 minute drive to the Nantucket ferry for a day trip. Easy drive up to the Cape Cod national seashore. Back at the house, we danced, told stories and had a couple of beers. A great vacation week!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our family spanned from 89 years old down to 18 months and the house was perfect! It was spacious, had a great front porch that we enjoyed every morning, had a big yard and was close to town and the beach.

Excellent.
Everything worked well but two things. The stove seems to have been on thr fritz and it was difficult to regulate temperatures. Also, we were surprised to learn during the middle of the night from the fire department that an alarm had been sent from 6A. We would have appreciated knowing that from whoever called it in when the alarm was reported, since we share the same roof and would have evacuated if indicated. We also had a small child we would have had to carry out of the building.

Mike- We are glad you and your family had another wonderful stay at our house. I'm sorry to hear about the stove not working, as this is the first time I am hearing about it from any previous guest or your group. I wish I could have solved that problem for you while you were staying with us.
As for the alarm, it was set off in a separate residence, not connected to Harborwalk, and was the reason as to why your group was not notified. I'm sorry for any confusion that may have caused.
Thanks,
Maggie

Perfect week relaxing with my family
Our week at Harborwalk was exactly what my family needed. We had 3 generations of family members who all enjoyed different aspects of the house and Harwich Port. My 5 year old niece loved walking to the beach and running around in the yard. My parents spent a few hours every morning on the front porch sipping coffee and reading. The 30 something's liked being able to walk to a few yummy restaurants and ride bikes on the bike path. We are already talking about coming again next year! Thank you so much for making our vacation so memorable! We will be back!

About the host
Hosted by Maggie Stella
Purchased by my grandparents Preston and Marilyn Barry as a retirement project. They ran a successful B&B for many years. My sisters and cousins decided to create a weekly rental so families could enjoy all the house had to offer. We love this house and use it whenever possible for family gatherings. We have had 4 weddings so far from two generations!
Why they chose this property
This property has been in our family for 50 years. It represents memories for all of us. As small children we vacationed on Cape Cod so it seemed fitting that my grandparents wanted to retire here. We are blessed to share it with other families as they create new memories.
What makes this property unique
By far the best spot in the house is actually on the porch. It is large and lends itself to gatherings. It is also THE best place to curl up with a good book!
