About this property

Our Mountain Getaway • Very Private • Pet Friendly

Welcome to Sugarworth Mountain! Our home features 3 Bedrooms, and 2 Baths. The entire house features Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring Throughout. The living room features plenty of seating, great views, a ceiling fan, TV, and a wood burning fireplace. The dining room features the dining room table and chairs, with seating for six, plus a highchair. The kitchen has been updated with stainless steel appliances! The Master Bedroom features a king sized bed, pack-n-play, and private en suite bath. One additional bedroom features a king size bed, and the other additional bedroom features two full size beds. The living room, and all of the bedrooms have TVs, with DirecTV service included. We have an electric heat pump, providing nice warm heat in the winter, and air conditioning in the summer! Our home is pet friendly. Smoking is not allowed in the house.

Guests can use the entire house - however, not the basement, or garage.


I am available by e-mail, phone, or text message, from 9am to 10pm, but will not be at or near the property.


You must drive roughly a half mile down a gravel road to get to the house. During snow/icy conditions, you would need 4 wheel drive.


While we welcome your pets, it is your responsibility to clean up after them – both inside, and outside of the house.


Parties are not allowed at our house.

This property was absolutely beautiful. The bedrooms were very spacious. The furniture was very comfortable. *It would be safer if the steps leading to front of house were cleared / salted. They were Icy, and hard to transport our luggage up to the house. Please also note for potential guests that during Winter months, they will need 4 wheel drive, as your property is higher up on the mountain and there is more snow. The drive up to this property is absolutely stunning. The wildlife are obviously accustomed to people and pose beautifully for photos.

A wonderful place to stay

Stayed here over Xmas with my wife, host Matt was phenomenal. Quick to assist when texted, and preemptively sent us a notification about a weather alert.Would absolutely recommend staying here to anyone looking for a homey casual place right near BooneWe were also visited multiple times by Bandit, who is just the sweetest dog in the universe

Great place to stay

Easy check in, nice home. Easy ride to Boone. House was clean, had everything you would need. Bandit paid up a visit, very nice dog. We enjoyed our stay.

House and property were very nice. House was very clean and yard well groomed. We enjoyed setting on the porch. The weather was beautiful, 50 degrees in the morning 70 was the highest. Best vacation I've had in a while. Set on the porch, grilled food, drank coffee and rested. What could be any better. Also let me say they had great accommodations for the dogs with pallets in the floor for naps and bedtime. House had everything we needed and it felt like a home away from home. Thank you to the owners. Look forward to staying there again in the future.

Family visit with App State Student

Beautiful property, very spacious, clean and homey. Only negatives were curvey road to location and poor water pressure at the home. We had a great time as a family, plenty of room, clean and wonderful views.

Enjoyed our stay

We enjoyed our stay here. One of the highlights was the neighbors dog, he would come over and play with our dogs or just sit on the porch with us. He even showed us around the property when we went for a walk. The owner Matthew was wonderful about answering any of our questions. Sun rise was absolutely beautiful this morning.

hidden gem

Me and my family of 5 stayed the weekend here, and we love it! We loved that it was close enough to everything we wanted to do, but also secluded. The hosts sent an email before our arrival explaining everything on the property, which was very helpful. We didn’t have to contact them at all during our stay, everything was perfect 10/10 would stay here again in the future!

Mountain stay

We enjoyed our stay here. There was enough lawn that our pup could run a bit. (However, the cover photo is not the view you will see!) The beds were super comfy! Kitchen utensils were lacking, but other than that, we had a pleasant time! Would definitely return.

Great get away!

Lovely cottage, a bit off beaten path to enjoy nature but still close enough to downtown shops and restaurants! Very spacious and nice fireplace. Bed comfy. Bring fire starter if u plan to use fireplace. We saw deer and walked up the hill for view!

Perfect for pets (and humans)

This place was fantastic! We brought our dogs and they loved it as well. There's a very large open field behind the property where our dogs loved to run. There's also a very friendly collie next door that loved to play with our dogs. The house itself was very clean, and the beds/linens were very comfortable. Essentials were provided as well. Overall one of the better places we've stayed.

Mountain getaway

Very clean, especially since it is pet friendly. Kitchen is fully stocked including a crockpot. Owners are very responsive!The only thing to note is that we were there a few days after they had gotten several inches of snow. We would not have been able to get to the property if we had not had 4-wheel drive. Once you get off of the main road, you will need 4-wheel drive if there is any snow or ice still on the ground.

Perfect in every way

This house was so cozy! We stayed during the week of Christmas. The owners had a decorated tree up and holiday decorations around. But more importantly, we had a winter storm during that week! The owner of the property called and asked if we needed anything and gave us tips on the area. I cannot say enough great things about our experience!

Sugarworth Mountain Home

We enjoyed our stay. Very quiet. Perfect for dogs. Open front yard but not an issue with dogs because so remote. Lovely neighborhood dog, Bandit, walked with us and our dogs. Very protective. Always raced ahead to make sure we were safe. House clean. There wete a few things I wish we had but managed without. Boone and Blowing Rocks very close. Enjoyed outdoor live music every week. Will return.

Quick trip

We were on a quick trip to take our daughter back to school after winter break. We were only going to take one dog but our dog sitter got sick so we had to bring our other, owner was ver responsive and it was no problem. Home was perfect for pets! If you are looking for fancy this is not for you but it is comfy and cute and pet friendly. Off the beaten path so yes you will need 4 wheel drive in the winter!!! We cleared our own snow off walks and steps, some people would complain but we did not mind! The neighbors dog Bandit is great, our dogs loved him even our dog that is not so sure of others loved him!! He is a Border Collie (which is one of ours as well) so it was all good!! Super friendly!! Great views!!
