The Bungalow was clean and is a beautiful rental. Barb provided great communication and even went out of her way to check on us when inclement weather popped up. Would highly recommend a stay at the Bungalow.
It was a very clean, well stocked home. The kitchen has all the tools need, working coffee pot, and microwave. The shampoo and conditioner was provided, along with plenty of toilet paper, Kleenex, and hand soaps. The host was easy to communicate with and quick to respond. I enjoyed the quiet stay while I had my appointments throughout the week. I would definetly stay here again.

We are very happy you enjoyed your stay. Please visit us again.
Weather was warm for Feb in MN so grounds were soggy and did not allow us to hike and explore the trails on the property. House was clean and all amenities required were found in bathrooms and kitchen. We enjoyed exploring Rochester finding several great dining spots. Hope to return in summer to experience the surroundings of this unique hideway log house.

I am happy you enjoyed your stay. I hope to see you again in the future.
The Bungalow was just what our family needed, a few days away from the hustle and bustle. Really enjoyed the trails (went for walks at least twice a day) and the loft, for hanging out. Would stay again.

A great place for family to gather! Lots of room for kids and adults. I brought food in, everything I needed was there to prepare meals. We had a wonderful time. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

So happy you enjoyed! We always want to make your experience match or exceed your expectations.
We enjoyed our time at The Bungalow tremendously. The space was very comfortable, the kitchen was very well equipped, our host made us feel at home, and the trails and proximity to our animal neighbors were delightful.

Thanks for being a great guest. Hope to see you again!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Bungalow! Great location for a quiet getaway weekend. Great trails for walking. Kids enjoyed feeding Chocolate apples and petting Zippy. Wonderful stay. Would recommend and stay again!
We were looking for a place for friends to meet for a weekend get-together. This place was perfect for us! The wooded setting was very nice and the house is still close enough to town to make things very convenient.
The wooded acreage was beautiful with trails and river vistas to enjoy. The yard, patio, front porch, fire ring, fire wood, and grill were ours to use at will. The rooms themselves were comfortable and well kept. We greatly enjoyed our stay, and you will not find a more helpful and communicative host than Barb. We highly recommend the Bungalow!

It was our pleasure to host Roy and Jan for their important anniversary. They were excellent guests and left the bungalow over and above what was necessary for them to do. We are so happy they enjoyed all the activities the bungalow has to offer!
Beautiful property, serene escape & great place to bring your dogs! Hope to return in the future!

About the host
Hosted by Barb Hill
This property was originally owned by my parents. My dad set up a small saw mill in the woods and built the original rough structure in the 1980s. I purchased it from them in 2000. My Dad actually milled the lumber over the fireplace, the shelf in the living room and some of the oak rafters. I recently added a beautiful addition and decided I would share it with people who I believe will love the tranquility and beauty. There is SO much to do and enjoy or sit and occasionally see a few deer wandering through your yard.
Why they chose this property
I grew up in Stewartville and decided to purchase this property to keep in our family for the future. I visit here occasionally but want to share it with others! I LOVE being here and I will get a lot of pleasure out of letting you enjoy it, too.
What makes this property unique
Root River on the property a few hundred yards away. Ironwood Springs Ranch adjacent with 200 acres of hiking trails and other activities you can check out on their web site. ironwoodsprings.com. Things such as horse-drawn sleigh rides, horseback riding, etc. Twenty acres of bluebells spring up in the woods in May! It is a sight to behold.
