I travel regularly and I’ve used VRBO on a number of occasions. This is the first time I feel compelled to caution anyone about a VRBO listing. After booking this apartment, my party arrived at the property at the time we had told our host we would arrive. However, we were unavailable to get into the property because we had not yet received the lock code. We tried to contact the host, but to no avail. We called VRBO, but they could not reach the host either. Consequently, we ended up finding a hotel for the night. After returning home from our trip, I tried to contact our host about a refund. I received no answer. None. No apology, no explanation, no offer to make things right. No response at all. As the scarecrow said to Dorothy, “I’d turn back if I were you.”
