About this property
The Sandy Anchor - Just minutes from St. Augustine beach!
Location, location, location. The condo has something for everyone in your group. It's located directly across from the beautiful views of the pier. Walk left to enjoy the secluded sands of Anastasia State Park. Turn right to join the party along the ocean. Several restaurants and bars within walking distance will cater to everyone in your group. And when you're ready for some sightseeing, the condo's location on the northern tip of the beach offers a quick trip to historic downtown.
The space
The vinyl floors are perfect for those sandy feet after a day at the beach.
The master suite features a king-size bed with a dresser and flat screen TV. Past the walk-in closet is the private bath that has two sinks, a walk-in shower, and an oversized soaking tub.
The first guest room has a queen-size bed and a closet the full length of one wall. The second is designed for the kids with 4 twin bunk beds, leaving so much room for activities! Those bedrooms share a full bath with a shower/tub.
The full sized kitchen with beautiful recycled glass counters provide plenty of space for prep and cabinets and pantry space for storage. It is fully equipped with dinnerware, cookware, utensils, and appliances including:
- Microwave
- CrockPot
- Toaster
- Blender
- Coffeemaker and K-Cup
- Electric mixer
- Dinnerware/Utensils/Glassware service for 8
- Several pots/pans/baking dishes
- Misc. knives and cooking utensils
The laundry room has a full-size washer and dryer as well as an ironing board and iron. It also stores the vacuum and mop, but you can let the cleaning staff worry about that at the end of your vacation.
The dining room has seating for 8 as well as 2 more at the breakfast bar while the living room boasts a sofa and side chairs for when you want to relax. High-speed wifi is available throughout the condo, including on the screened-in back porch.
The property gives guests access to a large heated swimming pool and fitness center in the clubhouse, just across the pond from the condo's back door.
Other things to note
I often get asked why it's called the Sandy Anchor. There is a picture inside the condo that tells the story, but I figured I should share it here as well.
My father was born in the Netherlands, just a few miles inland from Europe’s largest port of Rotterdam. The Dutch are known around the world as a seafaring people, but not my father. In fact, the ship bringing his family to America when he was just five collided with another and had to return to port.
My family has lived in St. Augustine for almost 40 years. A few years ago, we rented a pontoon boat for a day on the Intercostal Waterway. As we stopped for lunch, my father tossed the anchor towards the marsh. As it sank out of sight, my brother calmly asked, “Shouldn’t that be tied to the boat?” And thus the legend of the Sandy Anchor began.
Enjoy your stay!
Note that local zoning rules dictate rentals must be 7 nights minimum. I'm willing to work with you if it's a couple of days shorter by simply blocking off the other nights, so please inquire with any questions.
One reserved parking spot is provided with the condo along with 2 guest passes (required) for any parking in the visitor spots. Loss of parking pass will incur a $25 per pass fee for replacement.
When using the communal heated pool guests are required to bring the provided pool passes. Loss of pool pass will incur a $25 per pass fee for replacement.
Please do not bring any grills, including electric, during your stay. The community prohibits them. Pets are also prohibited. If a pet is found during you stay or upon checkout, a $500 fee per pet will incur along with immediate termination of your stay without a refund.
