Hi Cynthia, Thank you for your thoughtful words and so happy the house was perfect for you and your family! We love to hear the place was enjoyed by all. It was a honor to have you as a guest. Happy Spring, Peter
This is a perfect place to stay in Mendocino! It's a beautiful property and the house offers everything you could need unless you're looking for a TV. I prefer to read so it's not a problem for me at all. Wifi is available found other options. It's close to beautiful beaches and just enough off the road to have a little privacy without feeling too in the middle of nowhere. This was my second visit and it won't be my last.
This home is a great place to stay if you are wanting to explore the redwoods like us. The property is beautiful and we were able to enjoy several family hikes without having to drive! The house had everything our family needed to make a meal at home. The area was great with so much to see and do! We wish we had more time to see it all!

Glad to hear you had a wonderful time on your trip and enjoyed the accommodations! Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. We hope we can welcome you back in the future!
The house had everything we needed for our stay. It was comfortable and clean and the property was incredible. You're out in the woods and there are banana slugs just about everywhere you walk, so watch out! That being said, it's worth it to see all of the beautiful scenery. I'd happily return in the future.
Cabin was spacious and comfortable and location was convenient. We enjoyed the trails on the property and the kids especially enjoyed the games and the abundance of banana slugs. The turn off is hard to see but the directions were very clear and helpful.
We are nature lovers - bird watchers. This property is lovely with great trails….tranquil with lots of birds. The house has all you need and very clean. Perfect location for a walk in the woods with your coffee with short drives to beach, shopping, good food and the fantastic redwoods. It was a great trip to escape the heat inland. Owner is honest about the highway noise, but not enough to worry about.

Hi Victoria, So glad you enjoyed exploring the property, trails and watching the birds! There is so much to offer here for nature lovers! Thanks for sharing and happy to hear the house had everything you needed. We hope we can welcome you back in the future! Happy Summer!
Family of three - husband, wife and 3-yr old - loved this getaway in Mendocino county. Meadows, ponds and walking trails on grounds were perfect. And short drive to parks and Mendocino were easy and convenient. House was what we needed for the three of us. Good space to relax and well-equipped kitchen. Maybe could have been a bit cleaner in places, but you’re out in nature for most of the day so a little dust isn’t a big thing.

Thanks for your kind words John! So glad you enjoyed the property, ponds and trails and explored the area with your family. We appreciate your feedback and will be sure to thoroughly dust the house. You are welcome back anytime!
We really enjoyed our stay at Meadowlark. Our boys loved exploring the property with trails and ponds, and we had everything we needed inside the house. Fires in the fire pit were a definite highlight. We will definitely be back! One recommendation (because I always want my kids to sleep longer): blackout curtains in the bedrooms. :)

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay Megan! So glad you and your family enjoyed the outdoor space and trails. We look forward to welcoming you back anytime!
It was a great experience overall! Very good location, accurate description on how to locate and access the property. All the amenities as described, it was quite clean as well. The internet was super slow, but it was actually a good sign for our heads to disconnect from the world and enjoy the nature with the friends! 3 minutes drive from downtown Mendocino and about 8 minutes drive from Fort Bragg. Very close to Russian gulch park with a beautiful waterfall- which we visited on our last day. To summarize, a very nice place to stay for few days to clean the head!

Thanks Daniel, Glad you had a great time with your friends in Meadowlark and enjoyed your stay and soaked in the fresh coastal air of the nearby parks! The Russian Gulch Waterfall hike is definitely a local favorite and a gem. As listed in our description, we have DSL Wifi which works for most guests (we are unable to provide fiber internet due to our location). Sorry if that part didn't meet your expectations. But glad all other amenities of the house were to your satisfaction. Take Care, Peter
About the host
Hosted by Peter Scott
In 2001, with two young kids, my wife and I found Mendocino Tranquility Meadows. This property has it all. We fell in love with the ponds, open meadow land, beautiful trees, trails and not to mention wild huckleberries. The former owner was a keystone in the community, teacher, and an avid preservationist and birder who wrote "99 Birds of the Mendocino Coast" and "The Natural History of Mendocino." And it shows. Each time a friend visits they are blown away by the treasures this property has to offer.
After giving up the office life, and much hard work rebuilding the dwellings we started our family run business to open up the natural beauty to families like you. We hope you will create memories you will never forget, like watching ducks on the pond, osprey circling overhead, playing frisbee on the grass, and sipping a cup coffee with birds singing in the background. We can't wait for you to see it for yourself!
Why they chose this property
Recognized for the quality of its architecture and the integrity of its natural setting, charming Victorian-era buildings and rich history, Mendocino was named to the National Register of Historic Places, the only town on the California coast to be designated as such.
With a small town feel, yet vibrant and beautifully preserved, Mendocino is a set along a drop dead gorgeous natural surroundings with the town’s edge meeting the Pacific Ocean ocean. Rarely do rich architecture, beauty and nature merge with winding pathways and secluded beaches where visitors can take in the show of breaching whales and barking sea lions.
What makes this property unique
Mendocino Tranquility Meadows Nature Preserve has the best of both worlds - close proximity to the historic town of Mendocino and tucked only 2 miles away on a huge tract of land with ponds and meadows makes this the escape to nature you’ve been craving. You’ll find tranquility, adventure, and recharge yourself in the quiet and beauty.
