Lemoness -- 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, heated pool, 1/2 mile from Manasota Key Beach!

Lemoness is a lovely, quiet place to experience the fullness of a Florida vacation. It's not the typical Florida vacation rental property, which are nice, but all very much alike. Lemoness is different. It has character and charm. It's It's a restored 50 year old, two-story house featuring 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths, a large galley kitchen, and a Florida room, which combines a dining area as well as reading and conversation lounges. An upstairs deck accessed by the master bedroom, is a great place to enjoy the sunrise with coffee, sunset with wine, and the stars with your sweetie. You can also sit in the under the pergola out front, and drink your favorite beverage by the herb garden while enjoying the fragrances of lavender, rosemary, and other herbs.

This spacious house is decorated in an eclectic style, with comfort and ease of living in mind. There are many spaces to gather together and celebrate, eat or play games, and spaces to curl up with a good book, listen to music, play music, or create art. There is a fully fenced backyard for the kids and pets.

It has a 50'x50' lanai, which covers a 16'x32' solar and heat-pump heated pool, which keeps the pool warm, except during unusually long periods of cloud cover or chilly weather. (NOTE: Heat pumps must occasionally and routinely defrost in order to operate. However, they have difficulty defrosting when temperatures dip below the mid fifties. Unfortunately, this may happen for a few days at any time during December through February. This means the pool water may drop to the upper 60s or low 70s. This does not occur every Winter, and so far it lasts only a few days when it does occur. ) You can hang out by the pool in the day or evening with tables with umbrellas, lounge chairs, and a propane grill.

It is a short ½ mile walk to Manasota Key - down the shell road and over a draw-bridge overlooking the Lemon Bay. Manasota Key Beach has all the facilities that you need to make your beach day or evening sunset a complete pleasure -- great sunsets, great walks. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available for your use. Four antique but serviceable beach cruiser bicycles are also available

The travel magazine, Conde Naste, referred to Englewood, Florida, as the "best family-friendly vacation town" in the USA (2013). It is said to represent "Old Florida", and the same can be said of Lemoness.

Wonderful family vacation

WE loved staying at Lemoness. The house in not brand new, but the place has its character. The Florida room is our favorite place to read and relax and to view our sharkstooth finds. We will stay here again if we its available.

Great place just a short walk or drive to the beach

We enjoyed our stay. Never missed a beautiful sunset over the ocean. The house was very roomy, equipped with everything we needed, and indoor and outdoor activities for all ages. Given the opportunity we would definitely stay there again.

A special Floridian home in a lovely, very quiet neighbourhood.

Great home for a group, lots of space for everyone. Very well equipped and very quick response from owner for any questions. Location is perfect, short walk to beach and pool is great. Our second time staying here.

All the landscape was overgrown and did not look anything like the listing. The listing showed the pool area under a screen enclosure. It was not. There was some type of animal in the ceiling above the kitchen that the host knew about but did not tell us about it prior to our arrival. We will never stay in that house again.

Spacious House

Wonderful home with spacious rooms. The kitchen was well stocked and the owner had thoughtful touches everywhere. It was very charming. The pool was excellent! I would definitely stay there again!

This is our second time renting Lemoness. It is perfect for a group our size. It’s a beautiful home near our favorite beach. It’s well stocked with everything you would need. Our host, Charles was very responsive to any question we had. We can’t wait to go there again.

Not a lemon.

Lemoness was perfect for my family. Close enough to the beach and with a pool for the days when the gulf was a little too choppy for kids. The Florida room was a perfect area to cool down after a swim, but not too cold to give you a chill. There were some leftover supplies from the previous guests (or host) and were left some supplies for the next visitors. Great place for a Florida vacation.

Tranquil, spacious, fun!

I stayed with my children and my inlaws. Despite the storms, we had a wonderful stay because the home was so spacious and had so much to do. Plenty of seating areas to talk, do puzzles , board games, music, sunbathing, have coffee, etc. Pool games and bicycles! The pool was such a great addition because the ocean was too rough to swim in (but very close by). The house was very clean and had so many amenities. We lacked for nothing. I would love to stay here again in the future. I appreciate all of the love and care that have been put into this home!!

Second,but not last timers.

Check in was simple, since we've been here before. The pool was used twice daily by the entire family. There was more than enough pool toys/floats to keep us entwrtained. The kitchen has LOTS of cups glasses and plates. The front deck hose was also used twice daily, because we went to the gulf twice daily. We'll stay here again if the host will have us.

Beautiful home, great location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lemoness and would eagerly book again! It’s a beautiful home with plenty of space. The location is just perfect with just a 2 min. drive to Manasota Key Beach. We visited 3 other nearby beaches and Manasota Key was our favorite. It was not overly crowded and we found tons of shark teeth! The only advice I would offer would be; if you have young boys (we have 4 ) you might want to walk the home prior to them coming in. There are several topless or mostly exposed mermaids as decor throughout the home. Easy to hide until you leave.

Lemoness II

This was our second stay at Lemoness and we enjoyed it just as much as the first. The house is spacious yet homey and comfortable, it’s like a big cottage. It is well-stocked. We love the saltwater pool. The beach is only a half-mile away which is so convenient but sometimes it’s just hard to pull yourself away from the pool. We like the location because the neighborhood is unbusy and quiet and good for dog wallking. The location is convenient to both Venice and Englewood. It’s a perfect respite from winter for us and our two golden retrievers. See ya in February for the next sequel!

🍋As you know, we loved our stay🍋!!

Lemoness is the essence of eclecticness, kind of a cottagey feel. Lemoness isn’t for everybody. It isn’t perfect, but, it was perfect for us, our two goldens, and our guests. The house is spacious, homey, and comfy. A great place for a family vacation with plenty of room for everyone. The pool deck/cage is also very large and quite private. The 16’x32’ saltwater pool was wonderful, so wonderful that we didn’t go to the beach as much as usual (even though it was only a 1/2 mile away). Our young golden never wanted to get out, literally. The pool cage was damaged during hurricane Ian as were most in the area. It was still being repaired which is difficult to do when they have guests. It will be reattached to the house to minimize those flying pests. The neighborhood is very quiet and yet not too far from town no matter which way you go. The Venice dog beach is 15-20 minutes away. Charles, the owner, was super. James, the caretaker, is a peach. Communication with both was excellent. They were timely and responsive to our questions and needs. See you next year!

Disappointed

We were so excited about our stay but left after 3 days. The home is super cool. Our kids spent a ton of time in the music/art room and we loved how close to the beach it was. But on our second night my husband went down to the kitchen at about midnight to find dozens of cockroaches covering the kitchen. We had seen a few during the day and were a little weary but convinced ourselves it was just “palmetto bugs.” They were not. We had hundreds of dollars invested in an activity the next morning and promised ourselves we’d take care of it when we finished so we didn’t ruin it for our kids. The property manager was responsive and we waited for the owner to reach out. He was apologetic but said his family had just been down and noticed the bugs. He offered us half of our money back, to send someone out and for us to continue to stay. We didn’t feel like we could. We didn’t want to risk taking cockroaches back home with us. So we left. While packing our food from the kitchen there were so many roaches darting. We ended up throwing away everything in the pantry that had been opened loosing lots of money in food and had to repurchase. Then we had to find a new place to stay which cost more money and inconvenience. The home needs love. The cage has been broken for years. Go back and read the reviews. There are air fresheners everywhere because it smells. Rot around door frames and the pool is full of bugs every morning. Spending your money on a home that is loved and taken care of

Great location/out dated and worn house.

The pool very nice, the pool area outdated and very worn. The sliders from the sunroom to the pool area barely worked. We cleaned and oiled the tracks just to get one door open 2.5 feet. Bikes were old, rusty and had cobwebs, and flat tires, only two beach chairs in fairly good condition, the rest were all rusty. One side of the house was moldy. Some of the air conditioning vents were dusty, dirty and possibly moldy. Some cooking pans (3) were so rusted, we couldn’t use them. The house needs a really deep cleaning and inside cabinets could use a cleaning and shelf liners. On a positive note the bathrooms and bedrooms were very clean and properly supplied. Plenty of cleaning products, towels, etc. your ad for the house does not represent its exact condition of the property. We had one incident where the master bath shower handle was very stiff and hard to turn on and off. Consequently, within days of use the handle stripped and broke while hot water was running. We were able to shut down whole house hot water supply. Handyman next door was available and repaired it the same day. Because of the running water is leaked through to the kitchen ceiling and left a stain. We paid a $400 service fee to you to guarantee a pleasant and properly taken care of piece of property and sadly it wasn’t. This was not the type of home we are used to finding through your service. I was very embarrassed that i chose this house to spend with our very special friends. It was substandard to our ways of living and vacationing.

Reunion Trip

The house is charming and we could see the work put into it,but there is a difference between charm

and character and broken and neglected.There are damages on the floor in the florida room which could easily be tripping hazzards.One of the sliding doors leading to the pool was extremly difficult to open and there were weeds growing in the doorway as well as all over the area.The private entrance for the downstairs bedroom couldn’t be used,because there were plants all over and stuff laying around right in front of the door.The house was not locked when we arrived.There has been dishes on the countertop as well as in the dishwasher,and laundry in the dryer.We’ve been in many vacation rentals and never experienced something like this.The coffee machine was disgusting and needed a deep cleaning before the first use as well.On the table next to the pool was a full ashtray,we were starteld to see this not only because we‘re travelling with children.The cushions were laying around all over the place being wet and dirty.The pool hasn‘t been cleaned prior to our stay,chemicals were way of and out of balance which could lead to skin irritations.The caretaker did‘t introduce himself,ignored us when we went outside to talk to him and replied with the words „You think so?!“when we kindly told him that the barbecues where so dirty that we couldn’t use them.His cleaning efforts were ridicoulos.The pool area hasn‘t been cleaned or at least swiped and the condition of the cage is more than awful.This has nothing to do with the houses old floridian charm.It is damaged everywhere.Next to the door leading to the garage whole sections of screen were missing.All around the cage the bottom part of the screen wasn‘t attached to the ground.Next to the door leading into the garden a big part of the screen is ripped as well(mosquitos+animals could enter easily) Another disappointment was the non-existing upstairs deck.The owner wrote about roof construction but not about a missing deck.We especially picked this house because of that deck,to rest and grab a drink while watching the sunset.The owner was difficult to get in touch with.He didn‘t responded for days.We left the property after one night,cleaned everything and even mopped the floor,but he refused refunding us in a proper way.He insisted that the issues mentioned above were all minor in nature and our complaints are the result of the house not suiting our personal taste.Since we travel to Florida almost every year for the last two decades,we‘re able to say that the overall conditions were way below standard.

Lovely Lemoness five minutes from beach

This house is perfect for families or groups. 5 minutes from the beach, quiet neighborhood and stocked with everything you would need. Had a fridge problem and the owner was right on it. The pool was wonderful after returning from the beach. Pool screening and area needs some upgrading but otherwise great! The inside with 4 bedrooms was beautifully decorated with plenty of towels, toilet paper, paper towels, spices, beach equipment, games and dvds. Close to restaurants, Manasota Key and Venice. Would defintely return for another say.
