Back to our East Coast hub.

Had a blast staying at the Lake House, it is our center of operations. The location is perfect for our family visit. Mike is always a great host.

Our 5 day stay

We had a wedding in Woodstock and this location worked out great for us. We also went to the ocean for the day and it was only an hour drive. The house is in the country and is quiet and close to a private beach.

Enjoyed our stay, very comfortable. Mike was a great host and very pleasant to chat with.

Great location for our family visit, would definitely stay again. Didnt get to use the water toys due to weather, maybe next time. Only thing I would change, maybe softer sheets. Two thumbs up!

Cozy

Was a great place to stay in a beautiful area. Spacious and comfortable, we only wish we had more time to explore. 3 bedrooms, 2 couches, fire pit, kayaks, even a keyboard! Fridge had food essentials like eggs, bacon and juice. Had to google how to use a coffee percolator but that was easy enough. For those with mobility problems there is a significant step into the kitchen area as well as to the downstairs bathroom. The upstairs has about 18 steps to the bedrooms and shower. Would stay again!

Great stay!

Michael was a great host! The house had everything we needed and although the house does not have central air we stayed when it was 90 out, the large ac unit cooled the whole bottom floor! Our dog stayed nice and cool and so did we!

Great place , would recommend highly

Nice helpful owner , quiet location , comfortable house . This was the first time i was able to talk my parents into staying in a home , instead of a hotel , and they mentioned a few times how much of an improvement it was .

Great value and owner

My wife and I stayed here 3 nights with our dog. Overall you can’t beat the value of this rental. First, the owner Michael is very responsive and wants to make sure your stay is fine. The home is dated but it had all the amenities we needed. The best thing was the TV with free amazon prime, Netflix and Hulu. One odd issue is the only full bath is in the master. Was not an issue for us because we only used that bedroom but if you have more guests could be an issue. There is a half bath on main floor. Sure the couch could be more comfortable and removal of old inactive pool would be recommended but for less than $100 per night, I can live with that. Not much to do in area but we did find Taylor Brooke winery a few miles away. They are opening a brewery soon. The convenience store a mile away and proprietor were great. Thank you Michael for being a great host.

Spacious, Comfortable and Peaceful Getaway

We really enjoyed our Connecticut trip and our stay at Michael's house. We found the house to be the perfect fit for us to rest and make some day trips. Michael was onsite but was pretty much unseen. I bumped into him once while I was taking the dog out and enjoyed some pleasant conversation for a few minutes. If you're in need of a peaceful respite, then this is the place for you. Thanks, Michael for a great getaway!

Home in the woods

The home and setting up in the woods of Connecticut were beautiful and peaceful. The location gave us a great pivot point for traveling to the Hartford/ Weathersfield area and the New London/Essex Area through lovely fall colors and back country roads. For the most part the house was well prepared for guests. All the instructions for the use of the appliances and TVs we're well laid out as was how to deal with the kitchen waste and laundry. The owner/ manager was very prompt in answering questions and giving instructions about the location and door code also. Our one complaint was with the cleanliness of the cooking appliances , the stove and toasting oven. These items really need a very good cleaning and they need to be kept that way for each set of guests. Cooking on top of another person's chard food felt very unsanitary. Otherwise, thank you for a lovely visit to your home.

Serene and spacious

We really enjoyed our stay here and have already booked a repeat stay . The house is spacious and open with a large well equipped kitchen . The house is very dog friendly and has a huge backyard and nice enclosed porch off the back . The neighborhood is pretty and super quiet . It’s really in the middle of nowhere but there is a very friendly little convenience store and cafe less then a mile away where you can get basics like , beer , breakfast and homemade curry . Michael is an excellent host and a great guy who respects your privacy but is always reachable if you have any questions or need anything . He even dog sat one day ( for a fee ) and my dog liked him right away . We look forward to staying again ( and again ) .
