The Meadow House - with Billiards & Gaming Rooms

A former working farm, and now the special location of a spacious and comfortable home just 1 mile from downtown Saugatuck. Updated and beautifully furnished 3,200 square foot home on 3 acres overlooking a meadow. See song birds and possibly deer and wild turkeys in your private oasis, or plan an evening to enjoy some S’mores around the fire pit or the stars above.

Open concept design with large indoor and outdoor spaces where everyone can cook, eat or play together, as well as room to spread out and rest. Whole house high speed internet up to 650Mbps.

Spacious Great Room features gas fireplace and 65” 4K OLED TV. Open staircase to the lower level Gaming Room, so you can stay connected with your video gamers. Equipped with Sony PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, with games and multiple controllers.

Fully equipped true gourmet kitchen to prepare great meals together or make a 5 minute drive to any of the great restaurants in town. Dining table comfortably seats 8, with seating for 3 at adjacent snack bar.

Vaulted sunroom adds a round oak table to accommodate 6 more guests, and it’s a lovely space to enjoy breakfast, lunch or a late night card or board game. Adjacent patio area features a large dining table, lighted umbrella, many chairs, a gas grille and beautiful views of the meadow.

Very private primary suite features a king bed plus a queen sofa bed in the TV/sitting area with a 65” Plasma HD. Plus a library/office area to read a good book or work remotely.

Main floor guest bedroom features a queen bed and sitting area. Main floor “bunk room” features 2 double bunk beds - great for kids or for anyone who wants to create memories of sharing bedside stories, with a 65” 4K TV. 3-1/2 baths for everyone’s convenience.

When you’re not out and about or resting, have more fun with a huge seasonal Sports Room. Features include: Pro 9’ Brunswick Gold Crown III Pool Table, Pro Tornado Elite Foosball Table, and Stag Pacifica Table Tennis. Plus outdoor sports equipment including: Volleyball, Badminton, Bean Bag Toss, and Pickle Ball (for use at city courts).

Lower level also includes a well equipped gym, a cool retro kitchen and a large capacity washer and dryer. Here you will also find a third bathroom, for a total of 3-1/2 baths.

Check in was super easy. All needed information was provided at the start and the house was well stocked. The beds were comfortable and clean. The kitchen has higher end appliances and everything needed for food preparation. Plenty of room to spread out and all sorts of things to keep kids amused both inside and out. All the bathrooms were clean and well stocked with towels and toiletries. The owner is friendly and accommodating! The neighborhood is beautiful and close to town. We felt very well cared for and would highly recommend this house!

Great Place for a Golf Weekend

Wow!! What a wonderful week we had staying at this house! The kitchen was well stocked from dishes to spices to containers/plastic wrap/Ziploc bags. We also loved the double ovens and cooking in this kitchen. We loved the game room and spent plenty of time in there. There was plenty of space for us to be together, but also places to go to spend time on our own. Mark truly thought of everything and was quick to respond to any questions/concerns we had. He even supplied all the goodies to make Smores by the firepit! We would definitely stay here again! Thanks Mark!

Friends vacation in Michigan

Excellent option for a large group with tweens and teens. Lots to do at the property. We enjoyed the complimentary coffee, smores and snacks, propane and firewood. It was great to have a well stocked kitchen, including oils and spices. We had such a wonderful and comfortable stay.

Great place for a group

My friends and I stayed at the Meadow House for a golf weekend, and it was a fantastic setup. Plenty of room for the 8 of us to hang out together and we really enjoyed the converted garage/sports room. The backyard was a great place for some yard games and the grill setup came in handy. Check in/check out was a breeze and Mark was prompt in his communication leading up to the weekend. Overall a great trip, and we will definitely be back.

Perfect summer getaway

The house was better than what we were expecting. The kitchen was perfect for cooking a large meal and it was nice to be able to grill out too! Just close enough to town that we could walk back when Uber’s weren’t available. The game room was amazing to have!!! I book VRBO’s all the time and this was the best one yet!

Fantastic Experience

We stayed at Marks property for a golf trip/guys weekend and had a wonderful experience. The property was clean and set up for our arrival. The home is stocked with all the activities you could need for a fun weekend; pool table, ping pong, Xbox/Playstation. The location is walking distance to downtown Saugatuck and was also right across the street from a fantastic golf course. We would absolutely stay here again on future trips.

Great house and great location!

Mark was awesome to work with! He responded quickly and even helped us plan activities during our stay! The house is close to downtown, but feels like you're in the country! We took advantage of the fire pit every night. Mark even left us the essentials to make s'mores! Highly recommend this place if you want to be in or near Saugatuck!

Blueberry Headquarters

Wanting to have a non-crowded beautiful access to the nearby South Haven Blueberry Festival, we chose Mark’s beautiful home located in Saugatuck. There is literally nothing negative I have to say or type about the beautiful home, the large yard, the fire pit, the furniture, the TVs, and on and on and on. It was literally a perfect location and rental, which I would recommend to anyone.

Saugatuck 3-family vacation 2023

This was the perfect property for our group of 10! There were three comfortable, spacious bedrooms. The kids (all of them between 4 -10) were so excited about the bunk beds and bean bags in their room! Lots to do at this property for any age. Its only a couple minute drive to the shopping downtown saugatuck area, but probably is around 2 acres with great backyard for fires and grilling. Really enjoyed our stay here! Great coffee every morning (thanks, Mark).

Great house for a family vacation

Absolutely fantastic house that has been updated yet maintains the charm of a country home. The house is so comfortable with a big kitchen table for dinners and game time, lots of sitting areas with televisions readily accessible. The outside is warm and comfortable and the neighborhood was perfect for our early morning walks. We have never stayed at a rental house that had so many accommodations such as spices, cooking supplies, and snacks for the guests. Bathrooms stocked with great towels and bath supplies. Overall wonderful stay and Mark was extremely easy to communicate with and always willing to help out with any questions.

World Class Home

A superbly and thoughtfully organized house. By far my best VRBO, Homeaway, etc... experience ever! All top line everything. I’m a school trained and experienced chef, and the kitchen is magnificent. Even the chef knives were sharp. Beds were amazing. The master suite is beautifully appointed, as is the whole house. LOVE THIS PLACE!

We a fantastic stay! This house exceeded our expectations! We felt at home right away, and enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, gathering around the large dining room table for meals and games. Tons of different spaces to relax, or hang out inside, with a separate, private master bedroom with sitting area for an escape. We grilled, made a fire in the fire pit, and enjoyed the breathtaking starlit night sky! Mark was accommodating and easy to reach when we had questions. We will not hesitate to stay here again in the future!

Finding a solution for more than your own family can be challenging - especially when there are teenagers involved, but this truly was perfect for us! There was room to spread out, we could gather together when we wanted and have our own space when needed. The teens loves the weights and the rec area. We all loved the fire pit and close proximity to the beach. I especially appreciated how all of the household needs were supplied: foil, baggies, spices, etc. cooking on vacation with a crowd was easy in the beautiful, well-stocked kitchen. Mark thought of everything! This truly felt like a ‘hidden gem’ - we can’t wait to come back! I say ‘hidden’ because we can’t believe we didn’t find it sooner, and it’s ‘right there’ - close to everything!

In 12 years of rentals, this is the best one ever.

For the last 12 years, our family has rented a vacation home on Lake Michigan to spend a few days with our very close friends from Chicago. Our custom is to go in the middle of summer or early fall. This year, we decided at the last minute to go over Memorial Day weekend. Our dear friend, the one who organized our first Lake Michigan vacation, is dying of cancer. She wanted to get together one last time. We needed everything about this weekend to be worthy of what it could come to mean to us in our memories. Thanks to Mark and his home, it exceeded all of our hopes. This house was the best house we've ever rented. That's the truth. It's big and had something for everyone. The three kids (10, 12, 17) had a ball in the game room and playing video games. We cooked dinner in the marvelous kitchen both nights and enjoyed roasting s'mores (complements of Mark) around the fire at night. We made the 2-minute drive (or the 20-minute walk in my case) to Saugatuck. We stayed up late and slept in later and filled every minute in between with fellowship and fun that will go down in family legend. Mark made it all happen. He not only booked us at the last minute, he bent over backwards to make every part of our stay special. Whatever we needed, he was a text away and accommodated us to the best of his ability. No VRBO owner we've ever encountered seemed to have a better feel for what we might need or want before we even knew we needed or wanted it! We will be back!

Moved to Saugatuck in 2016 and can’t say enough about how great this area is. Charming small towns, Lake Michigan parks and beaches, very friendly locals and visitors, the arts and more. It’s yours to discover or to enjoy once again.

I continually make improvements to my property for my guests and I make every effort to be an excellent host for your visit.

Why they chose this property

Enjoy 3 private acres of sunny nature, yet be only 1 mile to the heart of downtown Saugatuck. While I sometimes enjoy a walk into town, a bike ride or super quick car ride are my favorite modes of transport.

I regularly take a bike ride to Oval Beach, which provides a perfect aerobic workout with the rolling hills along the way. Or go hiking at nearby Saugatuck Dunes State Park.

What makes this property unique

All of the rooms in this home are very spacious, especially the Great Room and primary bedroom suite. If you are a cook, you will truly enjoy a fully equipped chef’s kitchen. Or maybe you will simply enjoy hanging out together in the spacious kitchen/dining room/great room, The meadow with its ever changing field of wildflowers and wildlife also encourage you to feel connected with nature.

Beginning in 2023, we have added both a Sports Room and a Gaming Room. You can enjoy pro level pool, foosball and ping pong, or the most current video games and equipment available - in your own home!

I love the beautiful and mature specimen trees on the property, and if you look around you will see the windmill that was once used to water the farm gardens. There’s just something about that windmill that gives happy thoughts and positive energy.

It’s almost unbelievable that you can enjoy this much property and nature, with the heart of downtown Saugatuck 1 mile away. And charming Douglas is nearby as well!
