TAHOE DONNER AMENITIES
You will be provided guest passes that permit access and discount pricing at numerous Tahoe Donner recreational amenities such as the Trout Creek Recreation Center, Snow Play Area (has sledding), and Tahoe Donner Ski Area (ideal for beginners/families with kids). Tahoe Donner boasts a premier Nordic center with 70 km of trails, excellent for both beginner and advanced cross country skiers. Five minutes away, The Trout Creek Recreation Center has an exercise facility with state of the art exercise equipment, fitness classes, an adult lap pool that is heated to 82 degrees year-round, saunas, and massage treatments.

In the non-winter months, the Tahoe Donner amenities include a private beach on the east side of Donner Lake, where you can enjoy a BBQ, swimming, boat/kayak rentals and the use of the private boat launch. Crawdad fishing is a favorite of the kids in the marina. There are three swimming pools, tennis courts and bocce ball courts. Also biking trails, hiking, campgrounds and a world-class 18 hole golf course. Oh yes, there is also an equestrian center with pony rides for kids. Tahoe City and Kings Beach are less than 15 miles away.

Great location

We loved the cabin and the quiet street it is on. Only a few cars drove by all day! Cabin is spacious and we loved the 3 decks and the game room downstairs.

Loved the place. The only issue was it was 90 degrees every day and a few windows did not have screens, so we could not open them to let fresh air in at night. Otherwise, the place was great.

Fun Tahoe weekend

Booked this property to share a winter weekend in Tahoe with two families of 4. House met all of our expectations. Fun space for kids to play downstairs while parents enjoyed the mid level. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The home is less than a mile to the Tahoe Donner ski resort and convenient 10-30 min drive to everything else we wanted. Communication was easy with prompt responses from the property managers. We would gladly stay there again.

Comfortable home in great neighborhood

We felt right at home in this comfortable house that we rented for a month during COVID. Tim and the property managers were very responsive to all of our needs, and went out of their way to make our stay go smoothly. Three of us were working from home and we were able to find different work spaces with great broadband connection. The beds were comfortable, the grill worked great and the large table worked well for family meals. The kitchen could use some upgrades, but I hear that's in the works! The neighborhood is quiet, and the nearby golf course and trails are great for hiking and biking in the summer and cross country in the winter. The close proximity to Truckee and Donner Lake was a plus.

Our experience...

We stayed on the property for four days. Overall, the family had a good time in the Donner area. The property itself was accurately depicted on the website. All the usual amenities were present and early check in was allowed. The reason for the overall three star review comes from the master bathroom on the top floor. The day of arrival we noticed "dirt and debris" next to the master tub. Since we weren't using the tub that day, we didn't think anything of it. The next evening, we were prepping to use the tub when we took a closer look and realized that it was rodent droppings. Upon further inspection, we also realized that the wood paneling on the slanted wall was falling off the wall. We contacted the property manager the next morning and informed them of the issues. The wood paneling has come off the wall more since then. Pictures were taken and sent directly to the property manager for review. Our stay has ended but wehave not heard back from the property manager since then. We understand that being in Tahoe can pose its own set of challenges, but rodent droppings are a health hazard and should have gotten more attention from the manager and possibly the owner. Hopefully the issue is addressed immediately.

Perfect Winter wonderland!

We had a fantastic time as a family at this beautiful cabin. Snow play right outside the door with so many cool sleds, snow toys and shovels was an epic experience for our teenagers. The house is super-comfortable with great spaces to spread out as a family or comfortably hang out with each other. We loved curling up by the fire each evening to watch movies or play board games, and took advantage of the jacuzzi tub after snowboarding all day. Thank you Tim and Kim for providing such a lovely home and to the management team for the superb renting experience!

beautiful house for family get away

Home away from home - Everything you need is there specially the kitchen area. Good for big family coz there are enough room and bed fot atleast 8 to 10 people. the property owners are nice and so responsive to all the questions. my kids had fun staying in the Cabin.

What makes this property unique

Tahoe Donner is a quaint, family oriented community. Our street is very quiet and houses mix of part-timers and full-timers. We are on a major road with good snow plowing and clearing during the winter months.

Tahoe Donner Clubhouse guest passes are available to take advantage of area amenities for free or at a discount (including a gym, swimming pool, hot tub, BBQ grill area, etc.).

You are also only a short drive to Squaw Valley, Northstar and our other world-class ski resorts. We also have the Tahoe Donner Ski Area which has been named one of the best ski areas for beginners! There is a snow park and plenty of room for snowshoeing, cross country skiing or snowy walks in the trees.
