Perfect location in the Cove! Sea View is located on a quiet, safe street, within walking distance of the ocean, restaurants, and shops. Enjoy the gorgeous ocean view from the living room and front deck. Easily walk or bike around the cove and leave the car parked. Easy access to all that Shelter Cove has to offer. Plenty of room inside and out for kids between the TV room, game room, and yard.

The ocean, golf course, conveniences, nature trails, and more are within easy walking distance. Visitors enjoy the local surf spots, black sands beach, fishing, hiking, golfing, and simply relaxing in Shelter Cove. Enjoy activities or simply the peaceful and quiet community that is Shelter Cove. A nearby landing strip accommodates small planes.

This single level home includes a spacious living room with sectional sofa, cozy chairs, a gas fireplace, and an ocean view; a master bedroom with queen size bed and attached full bathroom; the "Sandcastle" room which features a bunk bed set with a full size bed on the bottom and twin on the top; the den which has a fold down futon sofa bed, houses the TV and DVD player, and is stocked with DVDs, books, tons of puzzles, and games; a full guest bathroom with tub and shower; full kitchen with dishes, glasses, flat wear, and pots and pans; a dining room with seating for six, a mud room, and a game room in the garage featuring ping pong, darts, cornhole, and two bikes for guests use. Outdoor living is encouraged with an ample sized back and front decks for sunset views and grassy yard with many wildlife visitors.

Sea View is not just “another rental in the cove”. We are owner managed and cared for. A lot of love and detail go into making Sea view a special place. From the little details like a bottle of welcome wine and fun décor, to our thorough cleaning protocols and consistent improvements. Whether you are visiting to hike trails or to simply relax by the fire and do a puzzle, a stay with us truly is a special get-a-way.

When requesting to book please share a little about your group and travel plans. If you would like to bring your furry friend, please tell us more about him or her for approval. Please also review our pet policy.
Pet Policy
1.) Please no pets on furniture.
2.) Dogs can not be left unattended at the house
3.) Please be respectful and pick up all poopoo.
4.) Please vacuum all excessive pet hair
5.) Be mindful that we have close full time neighbors so excessive barking is a problem

Though we can sleep 7 please check that the beds we are providing will be suitable for your needs. For example the bunks are a twin and a full which may be comfortable for 3 children to share but not three adults. The bed in the den is a convertible sofa bed. Please see pictures to ensure these accommodations meet your needs.

My children and I thought this was the best little cottage. It is perfectly located and we got to see lots of wild life. Thank you for letting us stay and explore a new part of the US we never knew existed! So beautiful!

Wonderful place to stay in Shelter Cove

We had a great time during our 3 day stay. The house was in a wonderful central location in town and served as a great home base for our Northern California adventures. Any issues we had were promptly addressed by Mahlah.

A pleasant place in Shelter Cove

We recently rented Mahlah’s place in shelter cove for a week and had a great time. The house is well stocked with games and activities. The bed room was well appointed. The location was perfect.we would definitely recommend!

This house was exceptionally clean. The views are amazing. The kitchen has everything you need to cook your ocean side meals. We celebrated a birthday, xmas, an anniversary and a proposal. Thank you for a beautiful home to enjoy all our celebrations. If you want a beautiful remote place to stay, this is one for you. Lots of places to see and eat for such a tiny little gem. The only thing I would, take note of is the bbq needs an upgrade. We used it anyways and our dinner was perfect. We will return in the warmer months

Shelter Cove getaway

We had another WONDERFUL time at this property! Communication is a breeze, check-in very easy, and the house is absolutely adorable! Sitting out on the deck watching deer cross, planes landing and taking off, and the watching the ocean, was just what we needed to rejuvenate! Beautiful and Relaxing

We really enjoyed our stay here! Such a beautiful town and this home was perfect and comfortable! Fully stocked with everything we needed and the kids loved the game room! We just brought our food and clothes and everything was there! The deck was perfect for relaxing in the evening to watch the sunset and the deer wandering by. Love it and will definitely be back again!!

Great time at Sea View!

We stayed at here for three nights during the July 4 week. Our family didn't want to leave! We enjoyed the cozy fireplace and incredible view from the front room. The game room with ping-pong, darts and more was a big hit. The house was tidy and decor inviting. Hard to beat the location as it's just a short walk to nature trails, tide pools and more. Would stay again!

Shelter Cove Gem

Stunning interior and exterior. Attention to detail and beautiful decor. We arrived and parked and played - everything is in walking distance. Relax on the front deck or inside and enjoy a front row seat to the ocean and wild life. Don't forget to relax outside in the evening to see all the stars and hear the ocean bid you a wonderful good night.

Sweet ocean views

We loved our stay in this sweet little cottage! The tv room was great for my daughter, the bunk bed room/ 2nd room is tight not suitable for an adult! Grandma bumped her head a few times, a perfect place for a family with kids! Walked to the farmers market and the community center, there is even a play ground behind fire station, the kids garden and small library! Such a cute little magical place! We were here for 4th of July and loved it!

Looking to get away from it all? This is the place!

Shelter Cove in general and this cute bungalow in particular are not to be missed if you are looking for a peaceful, quiet escape with amazing views. This place is cute, comfortable and has everything you could want for either a short or extended stay. This sleepy little town has abundant wildlife that simply wander throughout the community, unfazed by humans. Deer and foxes were spotted daily! We slept, ate, read, explored and watched the ocean. It was perfect, and we hated to leave. We felt so lucky to have found this little piece of paradise, and would love to return.

Coastal Escape

What a lovely area to call home for a few days! The weather is gorgeous, and this house is perfectly located to take in all the local adventures. We had daily visits from the deer in the lot across the street, and the sunsets were to die for! Close walk-able options for food and an easy drive down to Black Sand Beach. We had such an amazing time just reconnecting with family and enjoying this little house - board games, ping-pong in the garage... We would absolutely stay here again! Bonus - there was even a telescope for stargazing! :)

Beach House

Our family had a wonderful stay here. First off the house was very clean and organized. Really appreciated the bathroom’s and kitchens having everything you need. The garage was a nice set up and the kids enjoyed playing the darts and ping pong table. The third room was fully stocked with games and puzzles. The home was beautifully decorated and truly made you feel like you were on vacation. We appreciate you guys making your home pet friendly.

A Gem of A House

We just finsihed an 11 night stay in this gem of a house. What a magical place. Both Shelter Cove and this beautifully decorated, spotless home were far beyond any expectations. Imagine being at the edge of a vast wildnerness with a stunning view of the roaring Pacific Ocean, in a gorgeous and thoughfully appointed home with every conveniance. Add a wonderful cast of daily visitors; hawks, grey fox, deer, and birds of every stripe. Paradise.

Wonderful home with very interesting location

Our first night, as we relaxed from our drive there, watching the ocean from the front deck and whales in the far distance, we spotted people walking across the street with golf clubs (apparently there’s a mini course that goes through out town), a plane landing on the strip across from us, deer nibbling grass next to us, and a fox running through the properties. My family and I knew, the week ahead would be awesome. We took our dogs for an early morning walk to grab coffee and pastries, then later to the other side of the cove for brunch. We felt like we were on peaceful little island and we can’t wait to make it back! The home itself, has everything a small family would need, beds were comfy, house was clean. Overall, we absolutely enjoyed our stay!

We had fun at your VRBO. The bikes left something to be desired but the ping pong table was fun. We had a great view of the ocean and the kitchen was well stocked. We accidentally pushed the door bell which was supposed to trigger a call or visit from the host, but no one appeared. It seems like an odd way of getting help anyhow.

Surprising and wonderful shelter cove

Shelter cove was a great find and this house was a great base for our adventures. The road required to get to Shelter Cove is a bit daunting but this property and the Cove provide a great location for hiking, beach combing, and wildlife watching ( deer, foxes, sea lions, harbor seals and lots of pelicans, no bear but many prints on the beach). The home was well equipped, super comfy. The fireplace was fantastic on chilly mornings. The only problem was that the dryer was not working but our clothes dried quickly in the sun and ocean breeze. The community has only a small general store and a few restaurants so shop before you come but the mild inconvenience was worth it for the remote seclusion. As other reviewers have noted that the entry road does limit your ability/ desire to explore other areas outside the cove. We loved our stay!

Very Pleasant Seaside Escape

We had a great stay at Sea View! The house is well cared for and very inviting. My kids (10 and 13) loved playing with all the fun activities in the garage. We saw tons of wildlife while we were there, including deer, foxes, sea lions, even a whale! We had a minor issue at check-in, but the owner was easy to reach and helped us get it resolved quickly. If we find ourselves in Shelter Cove again, we will definitely stay here again!

Personally I love peaceful destinations with privacy and the settings to relax and detox from my busy schedule. I love to read and to simply enjoy beautiful surroundings. I am the type of person who fluffs pillows so you can imagine I am very respectful of places I stay.

As a host I want my guests to have the same beautiful experience I would want for myself. I designed our house in Shelter Cove with all that in mind. Beauty, comfort, and fun! My husband and I are always adding new features and updating Sea View.

We love that this house is on a quiet street with an amazing ocean view. Remodeling this house really made it feel like our own. So much love has gone into every detail. We continue to add new things and make improvements with each visit. Recent additions include the ping pong table and dart board. We are looking for respectful guests who can appreciate the details and love we have put into this home.
