Eagles Nest is a spacious home on the golf course overlooking the airport with an amazing 180 degree view. On a clear day you can see the coastline all the way from Fort Bragg to Punta Gorda. Centrally located within walking distance of the airport, the beach, tide pools, lighthouse, hiking trails and restaurants. Watch migrating whales from the comfort of the cozy living room. On a chilly night, enjoy the warmth of the freestanding gas fireplace. The main living area is on the second floor with a spiral staircase to 2 bedrooms and a bath on the lower level. There is additional sleeping space upstairs in the loft.
Shelter Cove is a great place to fish. surf, take a hike or just relax and watch the sunset from one of the 3 ocean view decks. With three bedrooms plus a sleeping loft, and two and a half baths there is plenty of room for the whole family, Eagles Nest is a pilots dream, fly in, park you airplane and walk about 300 yards to a fully furnished, comfortable home. Sleeps 8. One or two well behaved canine family members may be permitted with an additional pet fee.

Amazing view of the Pacific

Highly recommend this home. The road getting to Shelter Cove is amazing, just don’t be in a hurry. And the town is great; you can walk to everything. The house was clean and perfect for our family of 7. Had everything we needed and would stay here again if we ever get to Shelter cove again

Comfortable house for group gathering

The house was easy to find and just right for a medium group of friends. The views were great and we enjoyed walking and hiking around the area. All the appliances worked and the beds were comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.

Memorial Day Get Away

We rented Eagle's Nest for the Memorial Day weekend and it was great. Gather up necessary groceries for your stay and enjoy the views, sunsets, and BBQ. Loved the deck and the place was spacious. It was cool watching the planes come and go. Quiet and pleasant VRBO to spend time together.

Grandparents, parents, and children all found activities to enjoy. Grandma held the baby while enjoying views of the sea and small planes taking off and landing. Kitchen was well equipped for parents cooking and family eating. Steps up to the main level, but hand rails on both sides helped grandparents negotiate them. Beds were comfortable and walk in showers were perfect, even for handicapped grandma. We will reserve this property again.

Paul made the whole process very easy. Felt like we were coming to a friend's house. The home is very beautiful and very comfortable, and the view is to die for. Remote , private spectacular views

The process to rent was easy.. We enjoyed our stay however was not in any way prepared for that drive down into shelter cove. Before renting a VRBO in future, I will pay closer attention to details arou.d location and accessibility. We traveled from Portland Oregon and I was also unprepared for the highwy 101 road closure between Crescent City and Eureka, this caused a 20 hour delay in our vacation, which we were not planning for.

Beautiful home with incredible views

My family of four rented this house with another family of four. There is a loft in addition to the three bedrooms so it was perfect for our group of 8. I will say that the stairs up to the loft and to the lower level bedrooms may be tricky for children under 3, so if you have small children it’s something to consider. Check in was extremely easy as was communication with owner. The house had everything we needed to make ourselves comfortable and prepare meals. Thank you for an amazing place to spend our vacation. Our stay was pleasant. The weather was beautiful and we spent a couple of days bottom fishing. We have stayed in this rental a couple of times and the owner has remodeled the master bedroom and bath and the deck. Only complaint I have is the deck has a step that is very low and you don't see it until you have stepped off of it. Of our party of 8, at least half of us jarred ourselves stepping off this step. Watch your step!

Wonderful Week

We had a week with three generations sharing memories of decades visiting Shelter Cove and this house made it all come together. Fantastic views! Plenty of room for 6 adults and was a very clean, comfortable home. The stairs could be a challenge, but with a handrail on both sides even our 88 years young visitor was able to navigate them with confidence. This house was exactly what we wanted for our family vacation and lots more memories were made! Deer, foxes, birds, and whales were all seen from the deck. If you like watching small aircraft take off and land, this is a good spot for you too. Watch out for the golfers! The owner was great to communicate with too. No doubt we will look to stay here again.

Beautiful and Amazing

My family and I, plus my mom, my sister, and my nephew all stayed here. It was great. I loved how easily we could see the ocean and my kids loved watching the planes come in and leave. The coast wasn’t far away, tide pooling was GORGEOUS!! I saw stuff I’ve never had the opportunity to really see before and it was miraculous. We went tide pooling at least 3 or 4 times over the 5 days we were there. The only negative thing I have to say is the drive into Shelter Cove. Please be aware to use your lower gears, so that you do not burn up your brakes. It is absolutely essential! Honestly though, it was well worth it. My sister was a little miffed about the drive but after tide pooling, even she was happy that we came and cared less about the drive in. The owner is very communicative and helpful in any questions you have before and during your stay. I would definitely stay here again!!

I have been a pilot for 30 years, spent many childhood vacations camping with my family in Shelter Cove. Love that I can fly in and walk to the house. We enjoy beach combing, hiking, fishing and all kinds of outdoor recreation. It's all here, right at our doorstep.

Great location, great views, comfortable accommodations, in a location where you can be as active or as relaxed as you choose. My family has been coming to Shelter Cove for 3 generations, we love the beach, the weather and the scenery.

What makes this property unique

Pristine fishing community with the integration of the local airport and the par 3 golf course. Everyone waves driving by with the locals having plenty of stories to tell of life in these simple times.
Spend the morning watching whales, airplanes flying in and golfers walking the course.
Sunsets are beyond amazing, and read a book by starlight if you wish as they fill the night sky.
