Our home is very comfortable, attractively furnished, more than fully equipped and accommodating for groups of family and friends.
Beautiful new wood floors on the main floor which has cathedral ceilings and includes our open living room, dining room and kitchen with center island. Both the living room fireplace and the dining room stove are wood burning. Dining room table seats 12 with more seating in the breakfast nook and at the kitchen island.
New carpet throughout the rest of our home with 2 bedrooms on the main floor, each with queen beds and a beautifully remodeled bath upstairs with large walk in shower. On the lower level there are 2 full baths, 1 king, 1 queen and a bunk room with 2 single bed over double bed bunks. There are a couple of rollaway beds, queen aeromattress and pack’n play, high chair seat, baby monitor, stair gates for little ones. Laundry Room is on the lower floor as well.
Our home is fully equipped with linens, kitchen staples, all typical small appliances (including Instantpot, large Electric Frying Pan, Crockpot), paper products, bath products/hair dryers. WIFI throughout the house; TV/DVD in living room, upstairs bedroom and in the bunk room.
Firewood and snow removal are provided in winter. We plow in front in the winter so there is enough parking for about 4 cars on flat ground along with a single garage space.
There are 2 furnished decks - large one in the fenced back yard (with tree house) and the balcony in front. There is a Weber gas barbecue.
We are just outside of Tahoe City off of 89. It’s 10 minutes to Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows (Palisades) ski areas. Homewood Ski Area is south of us. There is a a sledding hill and ski hill at Granlibakken which is 5 minutes from here.
The bike trails are 1 block from the house and tennis courts, park and playground just down the road. Many great beaches are found here, one in Tahoe City and several south of us. Meeks Bay is our family favorite.
Tahoe City is a great lakeside town with lots of restaurants, shops, grocery stores, etc. Truckee is about 15 minutes from here - South Shore Casinos and Reno are about a 45 minute drive. Stateline Casinos are about a 30 minute drive. Keywords: House

Host was available for any questions. Lodge was spacious for our group, and well furnished. We used the cookware, flatware, dishes and dishwasher daily. Chopsticks not included. Beds were comfortable overall and towels in good condition. New soap bars available. Location was excellent for going to Tahoe City and Granlibakken sledding Hill. Backyard had snow to play in for the little ones.

Amenities were not as expected. A bit run down but somewhat clean. Kitchen pots and pans very very dated and a little scary to use. I’m sure they are toxic at this point. No cleaning supplies as stated as well as no laundry detergents. We were required to do daily towel laundry if in excess or would be charged another cleaning fee. Had to buy at store during snow storm. A lot of rules posted around house. Probably wouldn’t rent this property again. Not very accommodating

Happy to hear directly from you via text earlier today that you had a great stay despite not finding the laundry detergent and other supplies. They were available but in my storage closet…cleaners apparently having not put them out where they should have been easy for you to find. Thanks for letting me know about the pots and pans…sounds like they have been worn out. I will get them replaced on our next trip up to our Tahoe home. We love the feel of new (but rustic) wood floors we put in a couple years ago on the main living area floor, along with the new cozy carpet in all the bedrooms and stairways. Each room was furnished with a rustic, Tahoe cabin feel (much of the furniture bought from the local Tahoe City furniture store) intentionally. We do ask (and hope) our guests will keep their 4 legged friends on the main floor as we do to preserve the carpet on the lower floor and we do “suggest” folks wear slippers inside (in place of snow boots :). Greg does get carried away with the signs though, I agree. I will see what I can do about that next trip :). Look for your pet fee refund on Venmo. I hope it makes up a bit for the inconveniences you mentioned. We hope you will visit again.
We stayed at this Tahoe City home with a big group of adults and teens. The set up was perfect with two bedrooms upstairs and three down - giving everyone ample space with adults upstairs and teens down. The location was perfect and the house was stocked with everything we needed. Irene was a very communicative host. Would stay again!
My group of 15 had a great time and plenty of room at this house. Great location, just minutes down the road from Alpine and Squaw. House was cozy and neighborhood was nice.
This was a family reunion with lots of older adults, a teen and dog. The house is made for large groups and comfortably fit all of us. We really enjoyed the lovely patio space for reading and catching up with relatives!
We had planned a day trip only for the kids to learn how snowboard. When I ran across her home on VRBO. The place was perfect for a party of 12 and the kids played outside in the backyard till dark building snowmen and sledding. We all had such a wonderful time on your lovely home! Thank you so much!!!!
This home was a good size for my big family - children to grandchildren. From the bedrooms to living areas, we didn’t feel on top of each other. The kitchen was well stocked, & we enjoyed using the barbeque. The location was within driving distance to the beach, river rafting, Tahoe City (miniature golf-restaurants) & a nice playground for the kiddos. We all enjoyed our stay!

Hope you will come stay with us next year!
Cheers!

We rent frequently up in Tahoe 1-2 weekends a month during ski season. This place has a ton of beds to sleep, spacious, and a great cabin vibe. Also less than a mile from Tahoe City and a short car ride to Palisades/Alpine. Will definitely rent again! The pictures do not do it justice.

Happy to have you again, Jack! I am glad you enjoyed our home. It’s my “happy place” since we bought it many moons ago. We bought it as a ski house in 2000 and have worked to make it a home away from the grind in the Bay area for our extended family and wonderful guests like you.
I guess maybe I should break down and get some better pictures taken, eh?

wonderful, well-appointed home
We stayed at the bear lodge for a ski weekend (a large group of friends with kids), and we all very much enjoyed our stay, those who spent the day on the slopes and came back to hot showers and warm fireplaces, and those of us who spent the day around the house -- relaxing and reading in comfortable armchairs and on cozy sofas.
It felt like home.

Had a great time in Tahoe! Tons of snow. The girls had a blast with their friends skiing and sledding. The cabin was huge and very cozy at the same time. It was perfectly located near Tahoe City. Everything was clean and comfortable. I would come back for sure.

I am so pleased you enjoyed our Tahoe Cabin as much as we do! Would love to have you back anytime!
My friends and I stayed in Irene's cabin for a ski trip to Palisades tahoe. The cabin was very conveniently located right by tahoe city, which made it an easy drive to the resorts. The property was very well maintained and there were plenty of beds for everyone. Irene was very responsive about communications. Would definitely recommend!
Our group of 10 had an amazing stay at this Tahoe home. The house was spacious, comfortable, and had a warm, homey feel that made us feel right at ease. There were plenty of beds for everyone, and the layout was perfect for a group looking to relax after a long day on the slopes. The kitchen was well-equipped and made meal prep easy, and the quiet neighborhood added to the peaceful ambiance. Plus, the location was fantastic—just a short drive to Palisades Tahoe for skiing. There’s also a shuttle stop down the street if you don’t want to drive up. Safeway is a few minutes away as well. Highly recommend this rental for anyone looking for a cozy and convenient mountain retreat!

We love our Tahoe home for all the exact reasons! Happy to have you as guests and hope you will visit again!
The house was nice, spacious enough for our family, friends and kids. The best fence was a little intimidating, and the branches and snow that fell off the roof scared some of us, but the owner informed us of everything well in advance and we were all fully aware of the possibilities.
Well taken care of with more than enough information and help from the owner
This is a perfect house for 3 or 4 families going on a ski vacation. There are lots of bedrooms, comfortable beds, and enough bathrooms and showers to accommodate a large number of people. The house is clean with lots of living space to play games and hang out. Of special note is the large very well-stocked kitchen. We were able to make shared meals and desserts -- there are all sizes and kinds of pans, pots, and baking dishes. Also, great communication with the host. Thank you Irene!

So pleased you and your family and friends enjoyed our Tahoe home, Paul! It’s my Happy Place, where we all gather, children, grandchildren as often as we can, summer and winter over the last 20+ years.
Hope you will visit us again soon.
Thank You!!
The layout of the house was perfect for our large group and was especially accommodating to different schedules. The noise from the upstairs does not travel at all to the downstairs bedrooms, which was great for both the night owls and early risers. The kitchen is well stocked with every size and type of pan, serving dish and utensil. Everyone enjoyed the location as well. It is a short walk into Tahoe City and the lake, plus the house is conveniently located near major roads. The bear fence is a little intimidating, but Irene provided very thorough instructions that even included photos.

Yup, bears roaming are worrisome and the bear fence they have learned to avoid, thankfully. Just the gates up are a deterrent, no matter it’s powered or not.
Although they are around in the night and early morning, as seen on our cameras, we haven’t had an issue since 2010 when we put the bear fence in (after a break in).
Hope you will stay with us again on your next trip to Lake Tahoe, Tracy!
About the host
Hosted by Irene Fuller
We bought our 2nd family home in Tahoe City twenty plus years ago and spend many happy, fun times throughout the year there with our children, grandchildren and friends. It’s a big house, with plenty of space for gathering in the open kitchen and living area on the main floor as well as private bedrooms for the adults to get away and plenty of room in the 4 bed+ bunk room for the kids. We do enjoy sharing our home with the “perfect guests” who we feel will appreciate it, take care of it and love it as much as we do. We like to feel we know our guests and they us. We do allow pets as we understand wanting to bring our fur babies along on family vacations, AND we know the toll even perfect pets take on a house. With the brand new flooring throughout the house, we are limiting the number of pets to 2 dogs.
Why they chose this property
Love Lake Tahoe both summer and winter and the west shore is perfect location for both.
What makes this property unique
Great big, open living area with balcony off the living room and big deck in large fenced back yard. Plenty of private space in 4 bedrooms furnished for adults and the 4 bed+ bunk room for the kids.
