Rio Del Mar - 200 Flat Steps to Beach

This four Bedroom, two Bath home is located just two streets back from Rio Del Mar Beach in Rio Del Mar. Kitchen is fully equipped. Our home accommodates families or couples, and comfortably sleeps up to eight people.

The entry level consists of three bedrooms, bathroom, and laundry facilities. Upstairs you will find the Master Bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living/eating area, and balcony deck.

Charcoal Barbecue Grill, and George Foreman Electric Grill on balcony.

Enjoy miles of white sand beaches ideal for walking, jogging, swimming, sunbathing, bonfires (seasonal and must be in fire pits), and beach recreation. Normally have several beach chairs & 2 beach umbrella's.

Child High Chair, play pen crib, child gates & beach wagon on premises.

World Class SEASCAPE GOLF COURSE is minutes away, with several other excellent golf courses close by.

Go around the corner to the Pixie Deli, Venus Spirits (upscale restaurant), Venus Pie Trap (coffee, pastries, quiches, pizza & salads), and a small grocery store. Two major grocery stores and many great restaurants within easy driving distance.

Aptos is centrally located to Capitola Beach and Wharf (charming boutiques, restaurants and galleries - minutes away), Santa Cruz (home to an old fashioned boardwalk with a world famous wooden roller coaster - 15 minute drive), and beautiful Monterey's Fisherman's Wharf, Monterey Bay Aquarium and Carmel-by-the-Sea (small boutiques, shops & restaurants - 35-45 minute drive).

Amenities include: WiFi, 4 Cable TV's, Washer & Dryer.

Fully Equipped Kitchen includes Microwave, Dishwasher, Refrigerator, Ice Maker, Toaster, Blender, Crock-pot and 2 Coffee makers. Have drip coffee maker and a 1 cup maker which uses k-pods or ground coffee.

Parking is available for 2 cars in the Driveway and can park 1 car behind if needed. Off Street Parking may also be available.

We have 2 exterior security cameras. One monitors the outside entryway, and the other monitors the driveway. They may be on during your stay.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Turn thermostat off. Lock front door and leave the key in the outside lockbox.
During rental: Take garbage cans to curb for weekly garbage pickup and return cans the following morning (if applicable to your rental dates).
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
When departing: Leave used beds unmade. Start dishwasher with your last load and leave clean dishes. Empty garbage and wastepaper baskets.
When departing: Remove perishable food. Turn thermostat off. Leave inside keys hanging on rack. Lock doors/windows, leave key in outside lockbox.
Take garbage cans to curb for garbage pickup and return cans following morning (if applicable to your rental dates).

This house was the perfect setup for our family reunion. You felt the warmth of being in someone’s home and not just a space to hang out. The large open kitchen, living room, dining setting made for intimate living together. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable so close to the beach so perfect for early morning sunrise and late evening sunset walks, and fires on the beach so close so beautiful so comfortable. I would do it again thank you for providing such a home away from home. Everything you want is there. Thank you again.

Nice place. very close to the beach....the only criticism was that they do not supply even bath towels or towels of any type.........that was not appreciated.

On our HomeAway/VRBO listing it states that we do provide sheets but normally ask our renters to provide their own bath towels. (We do provide kitchen towels and paper towels). We also state that if needed we can provide bath towels at a nominal fee which just covers our additional cleaning costs as we send our laundry out to a professional cleaner. We emailed this same information to you when you initially booked, and asked that you please advise us if you wished for us to provide. Since you did not request prior to your stay, we are disappointed that you feel that this was an issue as we value our relationship with our renters!

This place is great. It’s in a perfect location if you’re looking for easy beach access.

We liked the set up with rooms downstairs and a master upstairs w the kitchen in case you have an early riser. There was great access to Netflix for the teens and there were some classic DVDs that were fun to watch. Overall, our family enjoyed our stay. Thanks!

They had me at their rainbow hued champagne stopper! I summerize the home as unpretensious and very well appointed. A wagon full of beach toys, boogie boards, and chairs. And outside shower to get the sand off.

Great house and location!

I could not have been happier with this property. It is correctly advertised regarding how close it is to the beach. The walk to the beach was easy. There is also a cute bakery on the way to the beach. We would walk to the bakery for coffee early in the morning and then take a pleasant walk down the beach. The house is perfect for what we needed. We never felt cramped or on top of each other. The property owner communicated with us regularly when we had any questions. I would absolutely stay here again!

Room for Everyone

Great location with plenty of natural lighting. Kitchen is wonderful for preparing family meals. Plenty of items for kids including beach toys (we brought our own, though), high chair, pack n play, and kids utensils. King bed upstairs is very firm and hard to sleep on; it could use a memory foam pad to make it comfortable. Floors had not been mopped so the baby was quickly dirty, crawling. Would recommend having a single set of bath towels for each bathroom to make the stay easier.

We loved our stay in Aptos! The beach was a flat easy walk, even for a 2 and 4 year old. Having a nice beach wagon and toys (and high chair and pack n play) saved us a lot of space packing, and all the toys were new and exciting. The owners were very responsive when we were there and gracious in letting us check in a little early. There were a lot of breakable decorations, but they were easily moved above little hands. The other downside was the table wasnt big enough for all of us to sit at, but there isnt really space for a bigger table. The only other issue we had was ants getting in our food and backpacks at night, but the owner was going to call an exterminator the day we left (after hearing from us there was a problem). We would definitely stay here again, we enjoyed the proximity to Santa Cruz and Capitola with the quieter streets and beaches of Aptos. It was nice to walk past the cars circling the beach parking lot and not have to deal with that! The house was very clean, kitchen was well stocked, and the owners answered every question before we came and after we were there within a few hours.

Great spot for a family beach trip

Location was terrific as it provided an easy walk to the beach. House and rooms were spacious and clean. Kitchen had everything we needed and Aptos offered plenty of great choices for dining. Great spot to escape to for a weekend or longer!
