We celebrated our anniversary with a few days at this sweet, cozy spot. It's an excellent location for biking, hiking and zipping into town for a meal or Saturday market. We cooked a couple dinners and the kitchen was well-equipped, bed very comfy, and all beautifully furnished with personal touches. Adam was always friendly and quick to respond. We loved this dreamy little boathouse and would definitely return again!
The boat house was perfect for us. Right-sized for 2 people, beautifully decorated, unique and comfortable. Loved the HUGE bifold doors. Access to Lopez Village was a comfortable walk or a quick bike ride. All in all very comfortable and we definitely want to come back. (Note: We had a small issue with a circuit breaker shutting off but a quick response from the owners got it settled. Turns out the instructions for accessing the panel was in the provided info book, we just missed it.)
We wanted a little extra room for our family so we rented the Boathouse at the same time as we rented the Farm House. Both houses were well furnished and immaculately clean. We mainly cooked our meals at the Farm House and didn't really use the Boat house kitchen but it was very pretty and looked like it had everything required. We did use the 2nd floor bedroom and bathroom and both were wonderful. The shower was one on the nicest I've ever used and once we learned how to use to the high-tec bidet, we loved it.
The Boathouse was a great choice for our unseasonably cool and wet August Lopez week. It’s a small but very livable home away from home, beautiful and functional. The kitchen was well planned for cooking. The small living area was comfortable for reading and TV. The wood stove kept us warm. The upstairs bedroom and bath were comfortable with a wonderful little sitting area with a view. Be ready for light as the place is spectacularly bright with windows everywhere. We walked to the village. Think about reservations as the restaurants are really busy. Thank you Adam and Carol for such an interesting home to rest and be comfortable for a week on a favorite island.

An absolute gem in the heart of Lopez.
This is a unique and wonderful place to stay. An excellent experience from start to finish. We saw the photos and thought, "This looks great!" ... we arrived and oh my gosh...were floored with the beauty and attention to detail. While booking, our questions were answered quickly. The hosts were kind and attentive, above and beyond with all kinds of personal touches and kindness. The house was just amazing. A very well appointed kitchen. Comfortable beds, a great grill and outdoor dining spot as well. The bathroom is modern and great water pressure. The views of the bay are amazing, so very close to everything. This home is a vintage gem updated with modern conveniences. Again, outstanding from start to finish.
What more could you want? A very clean, recently converted boathouse, well-appointed with everything you need including a wood burning stove and firewood (we used it in July) and cooking supplies. The location was next to Lopez Village Farms, and a quick, 1.5 mile ride into town on bikes. Very quiet. One of the best host rentals I've stayed in.
The property is idyllically located just steps from the Lopez Marina. We enjoyed taking our paddleboards out to the harbor and riding bikes to town and around the island. The boathouse itself is very nice, with a nice kitchen and a wood-fired stove. Loved it! We hope to come back to stay soon!
Renovated beautifully with so many thoughtful touches
Renovated beautifully with so many thoughtful touches! Very soft sheets, lovely towels and wonderful taste displayed throughout. Wonderful aesthetics. Great quiet location.
Stocked with every kind of utensil you could need and a Sonos for music so I didn’t even need mine that I brought.
We have stayed on Lopez a few times before, but this was the best, most lovely place we've stayed. Location was perfect, the house was comfortable and the kitchen well equipped, and the house and the views are simply unbeatable! Hoping to return frequently!
My wife and I have stayed in a lot of vrbo's and similar accommodations and this was one of the best experiences we have had - maybe even the best. The cleanliness, check-in and communication were all top notch. The boat house itself was better than the photos. It was spacious and very well designed and finished - with many small decorating and design touches that set it apart. It was a great place to relax for a few days and enjoy the sunsets and the neighborhood's resident deer and bunnies, and a perfect base from which to explore Lopez.

Amazing!!!!
From the initial communication all the way through the end of my stay, Adam and Carol were warm and inviting and made me truly feel welcome. After staying in multiple places over the past few years from Seattle to Bellingham and from Italy to France, this was far and away my favorite. It's been finished and equipped to a level that someone would if it were their own place, and one of my favorite things was being able to have the big boathouse doors open and the fire going all day. So peaceful and beautiful. Oh and the bed, linens, and bathroom were as epic as described in other reviews. I highly recommend!

The Lovely and Serene Boathouse
My week at The Boathouse was wonderful. The Boathouse is just about everything one could ask for in a Lopez getaway. Beautifully renovated with all the conveniences, The Boathouse has an indisputable Lopez charm.
I found it to be both a great base of operations from which to adventure and a cozy home to hunker down and reflect and relax.
The Boathouse has everything I needed or wanted and was exactly as promised by the wonderful owners. Easy and (not too) frequent communication and an eagerness to have my stay be smooth was just perfect.
I will absolutely return. Thank you!

Delightful getaway on Lopez Island
Wow...where do I begin? We arrived on snowy Lopez after the barrage of snowstorms had subsided in the Seattle area. Lopez had some snow and that made it all the more magical to stay at the Boathouse. From the moment we arrived, the Boathouse did not disappoint. On the dining table we were greeted with a bottle of wine and some hot chocolate with a welcome card. That was unexpected and so thoughtful! Thank you!
The Boathouse is tucked away on a lane with only a few other houses. The house sits nicely positioned so you feel a great deal of privacy when you gaze out of the massive french door style windows in the main floor area (living room/kitchen). As soon as we arrived, we got the wood stove going and it took the chill out of the room in almost no time. And speaking of the wood stove, you won't ever get cold with the stock of wood and the ability of that stove to generate some generous heat.
The kitchen is wonderfully done (modern, well planned) and makes cooking a pleasure, with everything you need to make a good meal and plenty of room for serving and cleanup. This was truly a gift because being we were on Lopez on the off season, many restaurants were either closed or had limited days open. The living room was such a treat to sit in and we found favorite spots to gaze out on the meadow, watching the deer and sounding off "bunny" alerts. The upstairs master bedroom is massive and well-appointed, has many windows, and is really cozy. The bed was absolutely comfortable, which isn't something I can always say when I am away from home. The bathroom upstairs is also just perfect - from the gorgeous shower, the style of the bathroom, and plush towels.
The owners of the Boathouse truly did a beautiful job styling the house. The thoughtful design, decor, ambience, and abundant lighting makes the house bright and cheery. This was truly a memorable stay and my husband and I enjoyed the opportunity to slow down, relax, and completely unwind. I would highly recommend the Boathouse to anyone who wants to experience a tasteful rental, with exceptional owners who were appropriately communicative, kind, and responsive. From the impeccable cleanliness of the house to the attention to details in every room, this place is a gem.

Awesome Setting!
Lopez Island is one of our favorite places to visit. It is quiet and yet one of the most beautiful places on earth. Adam and Carol have outdone themselves with remodeling this incredible "boathouse" for people to stay. It was better than some of the 5 star hotels we have stayed in. The kitchen was large and well equipped. The upstairs bedroom housed a huge comfortable bed and a beautiful new bathroom. My favorite was the shower. There is even an opportunity for one to try out a bidet if you have never tried one, complete with a heated seat for those cold nights. We spent alot of time outside enjoying nature all around as well as the peaceful quiet as we sat on the lawn furniture and watches rabbits, deer and some hawks. It was the most relaxing setting we have visited in a long time. We consider ourselves very lucky that we were able to some of the first to break in the boathouse and hope to return again very soon.
