Fun Cabin, comfortable beds, short walk to the lake, and plenty of space for my son and his 5 cousins to hang out with my wife and I for 3 days. Would definitely stay again!
The home is very clean and warm for the winter, great floor plan for 2 families. It has everything we needed for the 3-day ski trip, close to ski resorts and restaurants.
Great property and a great time. There was a little snow covered hill behind the property that was great for small children sledding. The kids had a blast right there all week.
House was exactly as advertised, and was a great cozy stay. House had everything that was needed. Bedrooms were a bit cold, but nothing a few layers can’t fix!
Nice cozy cabin. Nicely equipped kitchen. Location and instructions good. No shower head in one bathroom. The electric bear fence kinda scary. The basement was very cold and therefore unusable. Overall a nice stay.

No showerhead in one bathroom? That is very strange. Maybe the guests before you took it. I stayed there last week, but only downstairs and as we've never had a showerhead stolen before, I didn't check for it upstairs. I did notice the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispenser was missing so I've bought another which I will install next time I'm there. I’m sorry about the showerhead and thank you for letting me know. Also, I'm sorry about the cold basement. The repairman for the wall furnace didn't make it there before your stay. There is still the wood stove though and it will heat the whole house.
Overall it was a great stay. The only thing is, I'd say I would have liked to know more about the Bear Fence/mat before showing up! As someone who is unfamiliar with bear terrain and electric fences, it was a bit scary to not know where the fence was. But Steve was a great host-very responsive!
The property was not as clean as pictures
The pool table was taped together and the the rules / guidelines were not explained well

Do not rent to these people! They stole our pool table cover and destroyed two new beds. For some reason they stabbed both the beds multiple times all the way through all the bedding and into the mattresses. It's as if they were attacking the mattresses. The deposit won't even come close to covering the damage they did. I've never seen damage like this.
A group of friends and I stayed at this property for a weekend ski trip. The cabin is ideal proximity to Palisades and other mountains (less than 20 min to Palisades no problem) with some beautiful lake views. Despite the deluge of snow in the prior weeks, Steve made sure the drive way was properly shoveled and we had not problem accessing the house or the backyard deck which was covered. Kitchen was well stocked with all the basics equipment you could need and we definitely made good use of that to cook our meals. If you're staying in the winter, the houses in the living room might be cozier/warmer than the futons in the basement for guests 7-8. But you can definitely fit 8 comfortably. Steve was also incredibly responsive during our stay answering any questions we had both over the phone and via the app which really put us at ease. Great weekend - highly recommend!
Great house for our family's ski week. Close to Homewood for downhill and Sugar Pine Point State Park for XC skiing. The double car garage is nice to have in the winter, especially with the large amounts of snow we had while there. The house is older, but well maintained and clean. The beds, at least the ones we slept in, are very comfortable with good mattresses. Plenty of space all around. We never had contact with anyone, because we didn't need to. Everything was there, soap, towels, etc., even many leftover spices and kitchen stuff in case you didn't bring it all. Everything was well organized and explained.
The road up to the house may require chains or AWD with snow tires when conditions get rough. The snow removal, both county and private for the driveway, may not come right in the morning, so you may end up shoveling some snow if you have to leave. Nothing the owner can do about, so just a heads up ... it is winter in the mountains after all. One has to be flexible.
We had a great time, liked the house a lot, and would definitely come back. Thanks!
A few fiends and I visited for some time on the slopes. The house is convenient, clean, and has lots of amenities. It was after the fact the I was informed that my good friend got engaged at this house seven years prior. We had a great time relaxing at the house after boarding all day long, thank you.
Comfortable, well located for hiking & outdoor activities
Privacy of separated bedroom spaces & adequate beds.
Adequate kitchen for preparing meals with outside grill.
Adequate living room with a working fireplace
Outside deck surrounding 1/2 way around house but is mostly shaded.
Lovely backyard for sitting or activities.
Great location for privacy but yet close to lake with a walking path plus easy access to boating or other activities.
Was a great place was enough room for everyone who came beautiful back yard and deack that wrapped around the whole top of the 2 floor would stay there again wish the lake was more like a beach but was more for boats but we enjoyed the place 100 percent!
Location was unbeatable, very close to lake, with peekaboo views of the water in the large serene backyard. there was a great front deck for morning coffee, back deck was large and covered, great for the dinners we had. The pier was walking distance and perfect for a boat- it was easy to load and unload people on it. Cabin itself was great "old tahoe" vibes, but maybe could use a little "less" decor and stuff. kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware, beds were comfy, thank you. Hope to be back sometimes.

Good location
Overall the cabin was nice and cozy. There is a private peer for access but it’s not really private, many people who live/rent in the area have access to it as well. There were times it was completely full. Other than that everything was good.
The good: This is a great location, less than one block away from the lake, and surrounded by nature. Less than a 10 minute drive to grocery stores, restaurants, state parks and popular beaches. Really lovely backyard and amazing wrap-around deck.
Areas for improvement: The house is a little bit crowded with older furniture and feels a little run down. The handle for the faucet in the kitchen kept coming off and we had to fix it ourselves (just a couple of loose screws.) The family room where extra folks can sleep is dusty and a kind of uninviting and frankly not a place where anyone wants to sleep or spend anytime.
AMAZING house. Perfect cabin for a getaway to Lake Tahoe. Everything seemed very clean, the yard was extremely spacious, and the house was just perfect. The host was always very responsive and everything was stocked very well. It’s only a minute walk to your private dock/beach. I would highly suggest staying at this property, if I am ever back in Tahoe I will stay here again. Thank you!!
Location is second to none. This home has everything we wanted and more! Next to the lake, adjacent to a national forest for hiking - a super summertime Tahoe escape! And the owners provided timely and helpful tips on local restaurants and activities! 5 stars! We will return!
Cozy, easy access to Palisades and Homewood resorts
Very cozy cabin with well equipped kitchen and new TVs in living and den area. Downstairs den was great for the kids to hang out and play pool. Would recommend for a family getaway!
Steve was very responsive and flexible to extend our stay as we were there during the historic snow storm. We enjoyed the pool table so much when not being able to go out.

Why they chose this property
Grandma Walker bought it for our vacation home. We are constantly updating and improving it. We just added a huge covered deck that connects to 3 sides of the home, and new kitchen appliances..
What makes this property unique
The area along the side of our Lake, 4 houses away, has the longest stretch of public beach to walk along on the entire lake. We love to take walks in the morning and evening, or bike along side the Lake. People come from all over just to be able to take long walks, bike, and picnic along our West Shore. Out back, you can hike or bike along the road near Blackwood Creek. Our neighborhood is very quiet, and peaceful. Our back yard is fairly flat.
