This home has a wonderful patio with lake views and was very comfortable
The home is very comfortable and cozy. Great view of the lake from almost every place in the house. Plenty of amenities throughout the home. Very clean. Its on the smaller side but plenty of room to stretch out and have your own space if you want. Will stay there again.

We stayed in Tahoma for our son's 31st birthday and had a wonderful visit in Tahoma, Ca. On our first morning, we saw a bear enjoying his breakfast in an opening three doors down! The views from this home are fantastic and worth the price!
Overall great stay in location with close access to skiing. Only negatives were heat difference between upstairs and downstairs even with fans running. Closing upstairs bedroom door helped that room stay a little cooler, but upstairs was uncomfortabley warm.
Kitchen could use more common utensils (spatulas, serrated knife).
Otherwise everything was clean and matched description. Views of lake were great and had everything we really needed.

The home was beautiful, the view of Lake Tahoe extraordinary. The kitchen and living areas were very, very nice. The bathrooms were nice. The bedrooms were small... the closets were full and there was minimal place to put your clothing, etc....that was the only negative. Otherwise, great house I would recommend.

Liked: Communication, location
Complicated
This was a complicated one. Obviously the key feature was the deck. However, when we 20 minutes from arriving, the property manager called us and told us the owner just stained the deck. "Do not go on the deck!" Obviously we were very disappointed. However, the property manager worked with us to find a suitable replacement. Lisa was great. We would try this place again, but please hold the stain next time.

Great view of the lake! Cabin is pretty standard, nothing overly spectacular aside from the great view. It would have been nice for them to notify us that the cabin was ready for check in as I had to call. The main concern we had with our stay was the electric bear fence. Upon arrival, the bear fence had been turned off by the house cleaners and we were able to enter the property just fine, while also confirming the button was OFF on the unit. However, the next morning as we were leaving the house one of our toddlers accidentally touched the wires as they are hanging right next to the door and it zapped him. Thankfully he was okay, but it was very concerning as we had ensured everything was turned off upon arrival and did not turn the fence back on. Not sure if the rental company came by and turned it on without our knowledge or what, but huge safety concern especially if you’re traveling with young children.

Hi Nicole,
Thanks for taking time to review your stay. The housekeeper had just confirmed the house was ready a few minutes before you called at 2:35 PM. We were happy that we were able to start your rental about an hour and half before check-in time and hope you were, too.
We're so sorry to hear of the issue with the bear-deterrent fencing. Please know that we would NEVER go turn on the system at an occupied property. The company that installed the system has inspected it and found no malfunctions so it should be safe to use if the operating instructions are followed.
We hope to host you again, perhaps next time at a property without a bear-deterrent fencing system.
Communication was poor about the electric fence. We were told that the maids turned it off after cleaning. We took all the wires down with no problem so we assumed they had turned them off. For some reason they were sparking on the door frame and we were afraid they might cause a fire so I put them back up and got electrocuted twice. I have an arrhythmia and my heart went nuts all night. For the first hour after the shock my hands hurt horribly and clear up to my shoulder. I told the lady and she couldn't have cared less. For little things, the water in the downstairs bath didn't work and the window in the upstairs bath was clear so we had to rig up a curtain so that the world couldn't see us take a shower. There was dust in places that had to be building up for a long time. Easy to fix stuff and the place could easily be a 5 star.

Reviewer Comments:
We called when we got to Tahoe and the lady said the info we needed was in our email. We told her we had no wifi. She gave us the # for the keys but didn't say a word about the electric gate. When we got there we found all the doors covered in electrified bungee cord. They didn't seem to be on so we disconnected them. The ones hanging at the front door kept arcing against the wall and we weren't sure if it could burn down the house or not so I reconnected them. The second to top one jolted me pretty good so I tried to throw the top one on quickly and got completely electrocuted. I have a heart arrhythmia and it went nuts all night. Also I was in pain for at least a half an hour in my hands and other places it jumped to. We checked on the internet and it said that a shock like that could give you a heart attack. I wanted to go to the hospital to see if I was ok but I was afraid to try to leave. I talked to the lady the next day and she said the info about the gate was in the contract. I reread it and it wasn't. She didn't seem to care at all about the pain and worry I went through. The place was great except for the water in the downstairs bathtub didn't work, the upstairs bath had clear windows that anyone could look in and the place didn't get a thorough dusting in awhile. We wanted to come back and stay for a week in June but now we plan to look elsewhere.

Hello and thank you for your review. We are SO sorry to hear of your experience with the bear-deterrent fencing and that you felt as if we didn't care. We definitely do care and sent someone over to check on the system (and you) immediately after you reported it. The information about how to properly use the bear-deterrent system is not in the rental contract, but it IS in the arrival email that renters receive at check-in. We sincerely apologize for the experience you had and we appreciate you letting us know about it.

Reviewer Comments:
The location of this cabin was great for our trip; close enough to all the things that we wanted to see and do while in Tahoe but away from busier South Lake Tahoe. It was a quiet neighborhood as well. The view was wonderful. There is some traffic noise from the street below but not enough to distract from the view. The kitchen was well appointed but could use some new pans and spatula. Cable was a bit tricky to figure out and service was spotty so if watching tv is important bringing your own streaming device might be handy. We had to be careful going up and down the stairs as they fairly steep. Overall great stay.

Location was great. Rental company had good communication. Property itself was just okay. Heating system was really not good. Even with the instructions that the rental company gave, the upper floor was super hot and lower floors quite chilly. The whole family had difficulty sleeping in these conditions.

Beautiful house!!! Very cozy. Came to town for a wedding, but will definitelyReturn for a longer stay at some point.New to all the bear fences, but figured it out quickly. Maybe an info sheet on the best way to get the TVs to access cable tv... had to watch college football on my phone. No big deal though.
The four of us had a great time over Memorial Day weekend. Cottage is nice, fully equipped, clean and has an awesome view. Enough space for 4 adults. 3 rooms were great. Only thing better would have been a King bed for the master. It is a cottage, so expect some creaking and sound from use of the upstairs area. Kitchen, patio and living areas are great. Plenty of light, space and table space. Cleaning supplies were plentiful. Morning coffee on the patio is the I will most the most. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us.

Our daughter was married at West Shore Cafe' and this home was a perfect location for our family. We were able to get an early check-in which was very helpful. My sons did not lock their car doors, and some bears got into their cars!! No damage was done, but Tahoe bears will/can open unlocked car doors so be aware! This home was lovely and made our wedding stay very memorable. Thank-you!!
This place was so beautiful. The view of the lake was stunning. Waking up on the second floor felt like waking in a tree house. Mornings in the sunshine on the deck were beyond relaxing and were just what we all needed. We didn't find the sound from the road to be bothersome.

This was the perfect place for our stay in Tahoe. The cabin has a beautiful view of the Lake that was wonderful to wake up to and look at while sitting on the porch. Just a quick drive from North Tahoe as well, making this a great location. Overall very happy with our experience.
I enjoyed this home as a great spot to stay for my cousins wedding at west shore cafe in Homewood. My parents, husband and I were very comfortable with private bedrooms & baths. Recommend!
The house is what you need for a summer vacation. Location is exceptional, house is just like the pictures, and the view is breathtaking. The power lines were a slight concern for obstructing the view but unless you look down to the road they are a non-factor. Quick responses from manager and hope to use again someday.
