About this property
Beautiful Lodge on Mystic Mountain
You’ll love my place because of the outdoor space. The Lodge is at the border of Deruyter Forest and Cazenovia. The panoramic views of the rolling hills and lakes make this the perfect getaway to explore nature. It is 15 mins from Delphi Falls and 25 mins from Chittenango Falls. The home is at the top of Mystic Mountain with three bedrooms, two baths, and a pullout couch. We have a small pond with fish and walking trails. There are lakes and waterfalls nearby, This secluded area is great for a getaway from the hubbub of everyday life. Wineries and golfing nearby also.
There are two bedrooms upstairs (a spiral staircase inside and regular stairs outside). There is one bathroom and a bedroom downstairs
*No children under 12 are allowed due to the outside deck and the inside spiral staircase not being safe for small children.
** The driveway is steep and has loose rubble going to the top for about one mile, slowly to the top. A 4-wheel drive vehicle or all-wheel drive is recommended. Once you get to the top, it is flat and parking is easy. The view is spectacular.

The Mystic Mountain Lodge was a great place to stay with some friends for a long weekend to catch a concert at Beak and Skiff Orchards in Lafayette. Check-in via the lockbox was simple, the property was clean and spacious, and made for a great experience.
The Lodge was a great place, off the beaten path, but close enough to the events we were attending. The quietness of the surroundings made our stay something special.
The lodge on Mystic Mountain was amazing in every way if your looking for a beautiful place to stay and peace and quiet this is it our stay was amazing . The lodge itself was everything and more the view from the deck is postcard worthy we cant wait to come back.
We stayed in the beautiful mystic mountain lodge while we visited from out of town for a wedding. The lodge was nice and secluded, with a beautiful view of the night sky and surrounding mountain scape. The lodge itself was warm and inviting, with a large kitchen and so many areas to relax and unwind. 10 out of 10, would stay again.
Exactly as advertised, large, clean, tons space, great kitchen, beautiful views, expansive deck, good communication, individual cooling devices all around, if desired. Will be back.
Great place to get away from everything. Basically a hunter's cabin but very homey. Driving the trail up to the house is not as bad as other reviews would have you believe. FYI, This place has a narrow circular stairway to the second floor but also has a second set of wide regular stairs outside to bring up bulky, heavy luggage. The kitchen had the basics but if you want a special baking pan (cookie sheets or muffin tins, etc.)you probably need to bring it yourself. All in all, great view, great place for family time. We highly recommend!

Thank you, Steve, for taking the time to write a review.
This was exactly where we all wanted to be. Lots of room. Beautiful views. Just perfect! Caught fish in the pond. Coffee on the deck and very close to both Cazenovia and Deruyter.
Great location for us and beautiful view. Not giving it a 5 star because the downstairs bed was awful. It is rock hard and extremely loud and creaky with every movement. I ended up sleeping on the couch two out of three nights.
I loved this place. It was perfect place to stay for my husband, daughter, son-in-law and myself for a family wedding in the area. It also gave us a mini fall weekend. We visited several restaurants in the Cazenovia area and visited Critz’s Farm for cider and apples. The place was very clean and had many extras. Even though it was chilly, there was plenty of sun on the deck to sit outside. I would have given them 5 stars but the double beds were very uncomfortable. My daughter said the queen was good. I would suggest maybe some mattress pads for comfort. Otherwise we loved our stay.
Place is spectacular, views are amazing from the back deck. 4 wheel drive vehicle is a great idea. Driveway is beautiful but steep for those concerned. I would go back in a heart beat. Sooooo worth the trip. Was everything and more than we expected.
The house was a lovely retreat into the mountains for a long weekend. The view is absolutely unbeatable, we enjoyed many morning coffees and dinners on the porch. The living space is comfortable and cozy. The driveway was certainly steep and a bit longer than we anticipated but we managed just fine in a mid size car.

Thank you Maddie so glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for taking the time to review our home.
The lodge was very comfortable, with a great view. Fortunately, we have an all-wheel drive vehicle, because the driveway was steep and rutted. We didn't see the suggestion that a 4-wheel drive vehicle was recommended until after we had booked. The spaces between the rails on the deck are not safe for young children. The spiral staircase might need to be highlighted, in the property description, since it is the main staircase. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for taking the time to review our property.
We have recently had heavy rains in the area, and I will have someone look at the road for repairs. As you stated, we do ask that 4-wheel or all-wheel drive be used since the road is about one mile to the top and steep. Our booking does not allow young children because of the spiral staircase and the space between the rails. We will update on the spiral staircase, but would also mention that there is a regular staircase outside that leads upstairs. I am glad you enjoyed your stay.
It was an adventurous drive up to the Mystic Mountain Cabin. Very secluded and private. Perfect location for a coaches full day meeting/ retreat. We did not stay overnight. Everything for the meeting was perfect though
We are a group of seven horsewomen who rented Mystic Mountain while attending the Lorenzo Driving Competition, which was about a 10-15 minute drive away. It was perfect for the group of us...large kitchen and living room with two sofas; one small bedroom downstairs, and two larger bedrooms upstairs plus a loft with a pullout couch. One of the ladies slept on the enclosed porch on a cot. The driveway to reach the house is long, narrow and winding so be prepared to drive carefully, but once you reach the house, you won't be disappointed. We enjoyed our stay!
Way up high on a hill, in the woods overlooking a valley of farms and distant hills. The house was large and spacious. It had a large kitchen w a couple tables. It was originally a ski lodge. Large deck with views. “Rustic”, not fancy or “homey” it felt like it is owned by someone far away. I had trouble with cell phone/wifi in the kitchen, but it was fine everywhere else. The road up to the cabin was fine for our car in July. All in all, I loved the view, the peacefulness, and going to Caz and nearby lakes. (Blue Canoe is a good restaurant). PS. We had to go to Caz to buy coffee. Stairs in the back, outside of the house are easier than the spiral staircase in living room.
Steep, rocky drive up to cabin. AWD or 4WD a must. Amazing view. Huge wrap around porch overlooking the valley below. Huge windows without shades/blinds to let sun in. Beautiful, warm cozy living room with bar. Large dining room table, 2 a/c units, w/d 2 kitchen tables, porch furniture, all kitchen accessories, dishes, utensils, microwave, coffee maker, keurig, toaster oven, toaster, etc. Water pressure/temp is excellent. Very quiet. Clean towels/linens. 2 wood stoves, electric heat, indoor fireplace & outdoor fireplace, stocked wood shed, 3 bedrooms, 3 tvs, huge field behind home, pond. Gas grill, dishwasher, 3 sink bin in kitchen. The only negative was the cabin wasn't very clean. Stains, bugs, dust, dirty walls, sticky residue, fire extinguishers all empty, no smoke alarms, both mini fridges did not work. Miscommunication in using indoor fireplace. We couldn't get woodstoves to work, smoked too much. Brought our own wood & never told about the woodshed. Wifi connection issue at first. Numerous lightbulbs out which we found replacements and changed some. Outstanding communication with Sondra. And the creepiest thing of all was no mention of the owners (all 3 of them) grave stones in the back yard. All said, we'd definately be back.

This is a beautiful home and property with an idyllic view.
The home has a rustic charm to it but equipped with all modern conveniences. It is located at the top of a mountain so Very Remote! We were lucky enough to catch the fall foliage at peak; the whole countryside was bursting with color. The deck overlooking the view is very spacious and the stone fireplace is so cozy; the perfect way to sit outdoors at night and enjoy the beautiful sky. Nearby state parks have beautiful trails and waterfalls. Stone Quarry Art Park is nearby and definitely worth a visit. We loved everything about this gorgeous home and property!
