Charming, well-equipped cottage in a beautiful area of Cornwall. Communication with Neill the host was prompt and straightforward. A wonderful find and we'd love to return.
Great location - close to everything we wanted to do on our holiday. Nice and quiet. Kitchen well equipped and the lounge had plenty of room to relax in.
Great location for North Cornish beaches while being away from summer crowds
Owner was very helpful and we had a good week. House is the ideal location if you want to play golf, and also good for surfing at Godrevy and St Agnes.
A beautiful cottage in the middle of a lovely country park and access to all the wonderful places & beaches Cornwall has to offer within an hours drive. The cottage is a great base and spot on for a week away with the dogs in tow. Second stay here and can’t wait to cone back.
Lovely property next to the golf club. Fab for walks in Tehidy woods and only a stones throw from Portreath or Gwithian beach. Great interior and has everything you need.

Wonderful Cottage with all the facilities you need, all in good working order. Owner was very good with communications. Lovely garden with nice walks on the door step. Godrevy café, which is dog friendly, at the entrance to the beach and the food is great only 5 min drive. Will definitely be returning here again. Thank You Neill for a lovely stay.

We loved our stay in this property, it was so much more than stated in the description. The garden was secure and very lovely we felt completely comfortable letting our dog roam around. He loved it too!
The location was perfect, the beds very comfortable and had everything we needed.
If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in this part of Cornwall we would definitely recommend it. Very comfortable and clean and very happy.
Lovely cottage. Just had a little issue with door key being stiff at times. But managed. The cottage was further from the beach than I thought so could not walk to beach. Although lovely walk from cottage to Tilidy country park
Great location, peaceful apart from occasional thwacks of golf ball sounds. Good dog friendly enclosed garden for my 3 dogs. Nice cottage, useful having 3 bathrooms. Easy access to Tehidy park for woodland dog walks and access to coastal path.
Well catered for regarding cooking. Comfortable beds. Could do with a few updates e.g replace washing whirly gig. Really enjoyed our time there.
We had a great time staying in the cottage. It has a perfect location for those seeking privacy. The cottage is located right next to the Community golf course and a short distance walk to Tehidy Country which is ideal for dog walks. It is 5 min drive to the village of Portreath with a lovely beach for surfing, exploring a Smugglers Cave and rock pools. If you are interested in hiking the North Cliff coastal path is 40 min walk from the cottage. The cottage itself has a big garden with sun lounges, barbecue and a parking space to fit 2 cars. It has open space kitchen/living space with three bedrooms and 3 en-suite bathrooms. The cottage provided everything we needed to make this stay pleasant! We would definitely come back again!

exellent choice
We just came back from a very enjoyable stay at Pobbles cottage. It was as expected and especially the 3 bathrooms are great with two daughters in there twenties. We had really good weather and made the best of the two terraces and the Country Park.
Everything was clean and we only missed expresso cups.
The one day we had rain, we stayed cosy in the livingroom.
We would definitive recommend the cottage and hope we have the opportunity to stay there again. Jutta
Unfortunately the cottage smelt, a damp smell. Sofa on one side smelt too..quite a few cobwebs still even though the cleaner had been before we arrived as the kitchen floor was still wet. I know the owner had stated that the cottage is sometimes empty at periods of time so i suggest they get air freshers for every room!

cosy cottage but......
Nice cosy cottage but problem with filthy toilets with yellowish underneath flaps, filthy brushs are cover in brownish. All bedrooms floor are covered very thick dust and dead flys laid along around the window shelf at dining room also bottom of stair handrail. What a shame.

Dear David
As you know with our contact with you before, during and after your stay we take a real pride in our cottage and in trying to ensure our guests have a good time. I have also tried to contact you after I read the post, but have not heard? Just a thought, but is there some remaining frustration that Homeaway were not able to issue with the duplicate invoices? Or disappointment that the other guests did not arrive?
I have to say you do have a point with the flies – it was an unusually warm that week and preventing them flying around the warm conservatory windows, with all the sunshine coming in, was a bit of a battle. Sorry for this – we now spend extra time on cleaning the area around the blinds and have had no problems since.
Saying that I have to say though that Pobbles Cottage was certainly not as you described either on the day you arrived or when you left on the following Saturday. By chance I did happen to be at our cottage the Saturday you left, when our house keeper was also cleaning. Did you clean the house yourselves? Because if not then your brief description does not seem to tie up with what I found. Or indeed all other reviews and guest feedback over the last 3 years.
If you recall we did contact you during the stay (stormy weather) and right at the end (to check all OK) and you said all was good and had had a nice time. Perhaps you would like to return one of my messages and we can clear this up?
Kind regards
Neill Fry

Lovely place, shame about the cleaners
A tale of two halves, firstly, the house, the location, the space, the quietness is perfect; however the company employed to clean and maintain the property have let the owner down on this occasion. It was nothing we couldn’t sort ourselves but things we thought we shouldn’t have to do, such as, there was fluff and hair and pieces of broken glass under the sofa, the fridge hadn’t been cleaned, the washing line was down and the airier was broke, amongst another few small issues. But the cottage is lovely, very homely, the three bathrooms are a big plus and when I mentioned the issues we had with Neill the owner he was very apologetic and contrite about the situation and dealt with it well. But I think this was a one off and no fault of Neill but the people he employs to manage his property. The house and the location is spot on and I would be more than happy to return.

Hi Mark, as you know we had a good conversation about this. I am sorry about your cleaning experience and I believe that this should not be repeated. (having spoken to the company). I hope we can see you again next year. Best, Neill

Unfortunately underwhelming
Just had a nice week at the cottage but feel the property in need to some love and attention. Can't deny it's a lovely location (albeit golf course right next to garden and their carpark outside the front gate), country park and beach are lovely and close.
Unfortunately the garden is in need of attention, front lawn overgrown, not a usable space, ugly buddleia growing in side lawn, with decking and outside seating in need of sanding and staining. Check in times changed due to additional cleaning, no problem, didnt expect to have to clean it when we arrived as kitchen unclean. The cottage is in need of refreshing, ie painting and upholstery cleaning.
Bedrooms very comfy, nice to have the 3 bathrooms, and kitchen well stocked with plates, dishes, Pots and pans (glasses and cups need restocking). Would we stay again? Probably not, we have stayed in nicer and paid less.
It is a lovely cottage and I'm sure some tlc could bring it back to how it looks in the pictures.

Dear Karan
Thank you for taking the time and effort to review my cottage. I can’t recall having a 3-star review recently and having taken the time to refurbish the upstairs, through lockdown, we were of course concerned to read your points - especially given the other positive points from other guests. Regarding the garden, I should maybe have put a small sign up to explain that the front lawn has been left to promote the natural grass and wildflowers and associated wildlife – and has not been mown all year. Apologies for the confusion here. Similarly the deck is unstained again trying to, limit use of chemicals and I have to say I quite like the Buddleia, but I guess it is a subjective world - thank goodness.
You make a good point about the other 2 lawns, my apologies that our gardener broke his wrist and we were without garden cover for a few weeks although he is back as of yesterday.
I will check again with our housekeeping team to see what happened with the additional cleaning – again sorry for this. This will try to make sure this does not happen again – can you explain what additional cleaning was required?
Although we have never had any complaints about the downstairs décor, this was always scheduled to be redecorated in November so thank again for noticing the difference to the upstairs.
Best
Neill
