Oak Island beautiful, house ugly.
Air conditioner broken. Garbage disposal broken, no directions to operate televisions. Unusable and disgusting grill. Pile of dangerous lumber in garage walkway. Old and splintered boardwalk. My grandson fell frequently. For the price of this rental, the amenities were sorely lacking.

Beware hidden fees
The house is lovely! We truly enjoyed our stay. We did not enjoy the significant VRBO listing fee nor the lack of clarity with when the bills were due. The property is fantastic. I shall try to book my next vacation home with someone other than VRBO.

Turtleopia Review
The property is nice overall. Our issues were with Oak Island Accommodations, they were not responsive to my emails or phone calls for issues in the house. We arrived on Sat. to NO AIR CONDITIONING UPSTAIRS! I immediately called and was able to talk to someone who said she would contact the property manager and call back, no call back. Called Mon. morning and said a maintenance man would be there, he did show and fixed issue. On Sun. I sent email and called and left message on emergency line, the biggest burner on stove didn't work. We had 11 adults in the house and brought all our own food to cook, hard to do on 1 large burner and 2 small. They said there was a beach cart on site for guest use. We didn't get that until Wed. when they had to come and unlock from a maintenance closet, and that was only because someone was there with a key. Also, if the property is for 12 guests, they should have 12 chairs to sit in outside. I left all of this on my phone message and put all in an email to Oak Island Accommodations, all went unanswered! Not right when you spend thousands of dollars to rent a house. Very poor communication and customer service.
