Whole Home- *Air purifier* and filtration system- (Kills 99% of Viruses and Bacteria’s)
The apartment is equipped with a REME Halo Air purifier system and a Merv 16 filtration system. In short, the air quality in the Spruce Moose is the same as many Medical facilities.

Whole Home-*Steam* Humidifier- Utah air is extremely dry in the winter and can get to as low as 9% RH and can is noticeably uncomfortable during the winter while sleeping. The steam humidifier is set to keep the entire apartment at a very comfortable humidity level to help you breathe much better and most importantly help with getting an excellent night’s sleep for optimal energy while in the high-altitude Utah Mountains.

Keyless Entry! Key Pad or Smart Device (Phone) Access.

When you arrive at the front door to the apartment you will immediately walk through the gear-mudroom/ Infrared Sauna Room. This area is designated to take off all your bulky ski items before entering the main living area and to enjoy a nice relaxing visit to the HOT sauna after long day on the mountain.

The living-room and kitchen are combined in one very open and spacious area.
Enjoy a gorgeous kitchen with beautiful granite counter tops, all stainless appliances, and all the cookware to create gourmet meals.

The living-room sofa includes a pull out memory foam bed and comfy lounge chair with the entertainment of limitless Movie/TV options. The fireplace equipped is with an insert heater for your convenience (easy ON/OFF) that gets good and toasty with motion lighting for the ambiance and feeling of a real fire without the mess.

Sink into comfy Queen pillow top beds in either bedroom. The bigger room has an extra Twin (single person) bed, small night stand, and large dresser. In the second bedroom, you will find a big closet with mirrored doors allowing plenty of storage room.

The bathroom has a warm décor, spacious, and fully equipped with plenty of fresh towels and amenities (hair dryer, flat iron, Etc). The bathroom has plenty of bright lighting and a bright white tiled shower/bathtub.

The Laundry Closet includes a matching set of Samsung “Extra Large Load” Washer and Dryer.

Plenty of Natural Light throughout and enjoy a Mountain view from the bedroom window.

The outdoor, Private Fenced-In Yard/Patio area is designated for you and your guests enjoyment. This area includes a Stainless Steel BBQ Grill that's very easy to operate, Table-Umbrella-Chairs, and even a Ski Repair Work Bench.

Sound/Noise Levels From Upstairs- This home is an entire lower level apartment with your own private entrance. Our family lives above the lower level apartment and you will hear footsteps, TV, and voices as low tone and muffled sounds through the ceiling above. The feedback from past guests have been that they can hear upstair noises and the slight noises but it doesn’t bother them enough to complain. We are very confident that you will enjoy a peaceful visit as so many guests before you have. We mention it to be as transparent as possible.

We have one dog who almost never barks when outside and even less inside. She is a very friendly black lab and completely blocked from your living and yard area. We also have an indoor cat that we do not allow in the lower level apartment.

We welcome you to the “Spruce Moose Mountain Retreat”. We are unavailable for check-in and allow you complete privacy when you visit. You can reach us directly by text or a call when you have a question or need our help and we are always happy to assist as quickly as possible.

We provide you with a Key Code for easy check-in without needing us to be present as well as easy to follow home visiting & operating instructions for TV's, Remotes, etc at the home. We are available to answer questions quickly by text or a phone call and physically present ourselves very quickly or have a repair person to help you if needed.

Perfect place with thoughtful hosts

The Moose was perfect for us. We wanted a location that was close enough to Snowbird and Alta for skiing but did not cost as much as staying at the resorts. The property was beautiful and clean and the hosts did such a great job of stocking the bathroom and kitchen for us. I highly recommend staying here.

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights while helping our son work on home renovations. Everything was perfect and as described. Very nice neighborhood, kitchen was stocked with treats, fresh fruit, and snacks, and the bathroom stocked as well. Host goes above and beyond to make guests feel comfortable. Very clean, nicely decorated, and the sauna was amazing after a hard day working on our son's home! Would definitely stay here again.

Great place for ski vacation

We enjoyed staying here, it's a place in a nice quiet neighborhood and easy short drive to both Cottonwood canyons. The hosts are very caring and provide lots of bonus food (even breakfast) and toiletries. They live right above you in case anything comes up. As a bonus for any moose lover, there's very tasteful moose-themed decor throughout.

The Spruce moose has everything you need! Centrally located to both Little and Big Cottonwood Canyons for skiing. The apartment is super cute, clean and the host have insured that you have everything you need! There was a guest basket of fruits, and snacks, cooking oils, teas and coffees, and body washes, hair care, cotton balls and such in the bathroom. Everything you could think of was available!

Amazing Property! Excellent Location!

They really think of everything at the Spruce Moose! We had all we needed... and then some! Little touches like breakfast stuff, snacks... The property is in excellent condition and obviously well cared for. Covered parking was a huge plus since it dumped snow on us! Located very close to both Cottonwood canyons made it super convenient to get to the mountains. Would definately stay here again.

Winter Ski Holiday

The apartment is spacious and well maintained. The owners are communicative to make sure your stay is as pleasant as possible. They go above and beyond by leaving toiletries and other household items you could need during your stay. The kitchen had been stocked with snacks and drinks. Awesome Spring Break!

We stayed at the Spruce Moose for 5 days over our teen son’s spring break. The apartment was inviting and comfortable with a large kitchen/dining/living area that’s great for socializing. Everything is fresh and modern and the beds are comfy. Bill and Karolina left extras to make our visit special, like a fruit basket and snacks. The location is extremely convenient to Snowbird/Alta and Solitude/Brighton. We also skied at Park City one day and that was also only a 35min drive. We definitely will stay at the Spruce Moose again in the future!

Visited Utah For The First Time

I can not say enough positive things about our stay here. The location was 4 miles away from the road that takes you up to Brighton/Solitude, and it is very convenient to the bus stops. The accommodations were well appointed, and the TV worked well. WIFI worked well, and everything felt very clean. It is about a 30 min drive into downtown SLC, and it was a 48 drive to Park City. The space is quite large and would accommodate 5 people easily. The sauna and gas fire were nice added touches. The owner takes a lot of care to leave items that travelers often forget, and there were a variety of other complementary sundries. If you are not looking to stay in the city or pay the high prices associated with on-mountain accommodations, this will also satisfy that. I would highly recommend and would stay there again.

My experience was fantastic. Bill and Karolina were super helpful in every way possible. They had great recommendations for family and kid friendly activities in and around the area. The home is located in a quiet and clean neighborhood with friendly neighbors. Everything we needed was accommodated for us, and if they didn’t have it, they asked around the neighborhood to get it for us. When we arrived there was food to eat after a hectic day of traveling that came in clutch. There are detailed instructions and explanations of how things work in the house. However, if I needed anything I knew I could call or text and would be assisted promptly. Privacy is respected and the house was very comfortable. If you’re planning on skiing or snowboarding you’re within 25 minutes of any of the 4 best resorts in the area.

Spruce Moose stay

Wonderful property. The owners have all sorts of little items available - everything from some fresh fruit to various toiletries to pens, pencils and duct tape! everything was well stocked (pots, pans, towels, etc) lots and lots of notes to ensure that you know how to work all of the items in the facility (coffee makers, TV, heating, etc) - all very helpful. Loved the fact that some of the outlets are preset with USB ports - and they have an octopus cable with multiple interfaces on it to support virtually all of your electronics (huge if one has forgotten their chargers!). Although this is a basement unit, you would never know it - wonderfully set up. I had constant email/text interchanges with the owners - always very fast in responding. We experienced no issues at all. I highly recommend the Spruce Moose.

Home away from home

We stayed here with our two 15 year old boys to ski Alta and Snowbird. It’s a great location and everything was perfect. We skied, came back to unwind and eat dinner then watch a movie or play games. Drove to Park City one night to walk around and have dinner. Beds are comfortable and it has a large open kitchen/living area for everyone to be together. Great kitchen to make breakfast and dinner that included most kitchen staples. That’s a real perk! There were also snacks to eat and bathroom toiletries provided. Very thoughtful. Nothing was overlooked. Laundry facilities and a place to keep all our ski stuff separate was nice. Bill and Karolina were easily accessible to answer any questions. They made sure we were happy and that we were enjoying our stay and vacation. When we travel, we want a place like home and Spruce Moose was the ideal place to stay. Just as described and personal touches made it even better. Would highly recommend and would come back. Thank you!

A welcoming getaway!

Bill and Karolina are the perfect hosts! We felt so welcomed with all the special touches they left for us. The Spruce Moose was everything we wanted and more! Super clean, comfortable and welcoming! Beautiful neighborhood and views and so close to SLC and all the ski areas..Our Ski holiday was made perfect and we cannot wait to come back to visit them again! Lisa, David and Ben

Impeccable attention to detail, perfect ski base

We have stayed in vacation rentals in various places for years but the Spruce Moose is unparalleled. What makes this such an enjoyable rental is the impeccable attention to detail, from the perfectly appointed ski mudroom entry to the well- stocked kitchen and clear written instructions placed thought the unit, Bill and Karolina have anticipated every possible need a guest may have. (At one point I needed a blank sheet of paper for a work Zoom and I thought “finally something this place doesn’t have” but it turned out there was a folder of printer paper in the kitchen drawer!!!) Spotless and well organized, in quiet and safe residential neighborhood, this is an ideal base for skiing Alta/Snowbird and Brighton. Highly recommend!

Charming retreat

My husband and our friends stayed here for a week of skiing. The place is so comfortable and charming. The owners have put tons of effort into making the experience fun and enjoyable. The little touches were so thoughtful. Only 20-30 minutes to ski resorts!

The Moose is Awesome

The property was very clean, well organized, and the host had a lot of nice extras waiting for us - fresh fruit, snacks, coffee and more. We would definitely stay here again as everything was exactly as advertised and the hosts bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed. Great place and super nice hosts.

Hi, my name is Bill, my wife is Karolina and we have a child. We have also always had a pup and cat as part of our family too. Karolina and I both love hiking, fishing, skiing, snowboarding, and traveling together as often as possible. Karolina is from Poland and I am from Georgia. We met near where we both lived in downtown Atlanta and a year later we were married. Karolina is a Veterinarian and I have a T-shirt art business.

For our 10th wedding anniversary we visited a BNB for the first time in Savanah GA and were hooked. We immediately started thinking about how amazing it would be to live in a destination location that complemented our adventurous lifestyle and at the same time, be able to share our home as a BNB for others to enjoy. We started planning our permanent get-way to live close to Mountains with plenty of summer and winter activities and fell in love with Utah. We packed and headed west in 2016 and here we are!

Why they chose this property

Our journey to Utah—and ultimately to creating the “Spruce Moose Mountain Retreat” (Lower Level Apartment)—was inspired by our love for the mountains and outdoor adventure.
One of our favorite places is Zakopane, a beautiful mountain town in Poland known for its year-round activities. After spending time there, we dreamed of living somewhere similar. Through extensive research, we discovered that Salt Lake City, Utah offered everything we were looking for—skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, camping, and more. What sealed the deal were glowing reviews from world-class winter athletes calling Utah the “mecca for skiing” with “The Greatest Snow on Earth” and terrain for all skill levels.
SLC truly embodies one word for us: ADVENTURE.
Once we chose Utah, we searched for a property that would bring our vision to life. We found the perfect home—designed with a completely private lower-level apartment that had its own entrance, ideal for hosting guests while giving them peace and privacy.
From there, we began shaping the “Spruce Moose Mountain Retreat” with great care. Drawing inspiration from BNBs we’ve stayed at over the years, we combined thoughtful details with our own personal touches to create a warm, comfortable space where guests can relax after a day of skiing and exploring.
